Apple fritter for the win. This is an extraordinary donut shop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always busy and for good reason.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would love to try their sandwiches but I can't get past the donuts!! Ok, bye.

tl;dr the crummy cronuts and premium prices at this neighborhood favorite overshadow the otherwise solid fritter Donut shops are never more than a stone's throw away across Los Angeles, and every Angeleno has their neighborhood favorite. A popular local spot is Moon Donut in Torrance. This family-run bakery is best known for its custard-filled donut varieties, but the dizzying selection makes picking just one donut a challenge. Moon Donuts shares a lime-green strip mall with a smoke shop and a chicken shop. But on a weekend morning, all of the bustle is donut-focused; expect a steady stream of customers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is brightly lit, industrial, and a little run-down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Shelves upon shelves of donuts are neatly organized in the displays to the right, while a short refrigerator section to the left is filled with grab-and-go beverages. The hot menu is displayed on flat screens behind the counter, and coffee fixings are stacked on a stainless-steel shelf in the corner. My partner and I arrived mid-morning on a Sunday, and the staff were quick to take our order. We decided on an Apple Fritter and a Cookie Cronut. Moon's fritter was unlike any I've ever had. Uniquely, it was filled with walnuts, but the apple flavor was minimal; perhaps the donut would be more aptly described as a "cinnamon-walnut fritter". The dough was dense, crispy, and syrupy (all pros to me), but the absence of apple held this fritter back from being one of my favorites across LA. Meanwhile, the cronut was an ambitious and delicious-sounding option that fell flat in practice. The cookie was overcooked and mostly tasteless, while the donut was essentially just a ring-shaped croissant; both components were inferior to something I could buy at Costco. Rarely do I leave a donut on the table (especially a premium and expensive one like this), but I simply couldn't choke this one down. Service was efficient, and our total clocked in above $9 (taking into account Moon's credit card surcharge). While the fritter had its positives, the cronut was simply unpalatable. As such, I will probably steer clear of Moon in the future, even if I'm already in the neighborhood.

    Tasteless happy birthday letter donuts

I ordered letter donuts for my boyfriend's birthday and was pretty disappointed. First, the letters were sloppy and the icing looked ok. As soon as I brought them home, we were really excited to try them out. To both of our surprise, they had zero taste! They weren't sweet. at. all. There wasn't any glaze and it was only blue icing, which wasn't sweet. I even called the store and asked about them and the lady said that's how they're done because it's too expensive to add glaze... wouldn't you think that the donuts' taste is as important as their look? Apparently not. I paid a premium price for them, too. I'm really disappointed because I really wanted to support this small business, but I will not be back.

Love their regular donuts. Light and fluffy. We went around noon and there weren't a lot of the regular donuts left. There were plenty of specialty ones left tho. I've tried the specialty ones before and they were a lil mediocre but the designs on them are nice and eye catching. If you go with a child, they give out one donut hole for free.

SO YUMMY! I am somewhat of a donut snob...and these were so fresh and delicious! The prices are great too for donuts with such great flavors and presentation. Staff was friendly and service was quick even with the small line that was there when we arrived. Small lot but no issue finding a parking spot. Will be back! I saw they also do custom donuts!

Amazing donuts for our faculty meeting. Donuts were fresh, and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Moon donuts is close to my work site and always a hit.

Delicious donuts. Interesting flavors. The maple bacon are bomb!!! Loved the red velvet and smores flavors too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Take out only, counter service, no seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fresh OJ, milk, sodas and coffee too. Best donuts in SoCal

Date: June 15, 2025 It was Father's Day and we were in the area on the way to redondo beach and wanted a little snack. I originally wanted some sweet bread but there's nothing in the area so I suggested donuts. We passed by moon donuts on the way to the pier so we stopped by. They have two different kinds of donuts. A 'regular' fridge and a 'fancy' fridge. The regular ones are the plain sugar, glaze, chocolate and sprinkles like you normally see at a donut shop and the fancier ones have different flavors like ube, cream, sprinkles/toppings, and so much more. We got a half dozen (11.99$) and thought we could pick anything but it's only out of the regular fridge. So we got those. She gave us 3 donut holes for my kids which was super sweet. The fancier donuts are priced at 3.50$ each. Which isn't bad but for what we wanted, it was out of our price range. But I will definitely be back to try some of those! They also do custom donuts too! The donuts were SUPER fluffy and so soft and so delicious!!! The sugar one was just *chef's kiss*. And the glaze was amazing ! We devoured them so quickly I wish we got a dozen! Thank you so much for a great first visit. We will definitely be back!

Quite literally the best donuts. Especially the apple fritter, cronut, and maple bars!!! The customer service is A1 and their hours are unbeatable. They always let you know when they have fresh donuts coming out throughout the day and we will definitely be back tomorrow. This is literally how we felt when we got our donut order!

Best donuts in Town! Stop by here a lot but this is the first time I got to do a review! They have choices upon choices for donuts; chocolate, glazed, sprinkles you name it! They have lots to choose from, and all sorts of decorative donuts for your choosing! Leon helped me pick out my batch and I can say he was very helpful, and was able to pick the donuts (some I never would have picked myself) and they all tasted great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They get really busy in the morning so try and grab your donuts before the rush, very clean and kept tidy for every customer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A little small but that's okay because they are very speedy with service![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I could give a 10 out of 10 I would! Definitely a donut lovers paradise!

Love coming here! Their donuts are bomb, but I'd say I love their breakfast even more! Their breakfast burritos and very big and filling for such a good price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a good hole in the wall![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Iced coffee

Came here on Father's Day. Ordered half dozen and 2 iced coffee and it was 30$ that alone is ridiculous. Then before I had the chance to give any kind of directions on my order she goes into the back and gives us two iced coffe with milk and a crap ton of sweetener in it. We both don't drink milk or use any sweetener. I ask if they can make it again with just iced coffee. She says no, that I have to tell her before hand and to drink some so that she can pour more coffee. I declined as again I don't drink milk or sweetener so drinking a little bit to make room wouldn't be an option. I took the drinks and left. My dad was extremly disappointed. The coffees turned out to be over priced and not consumable. As for the donuts they look mediocre. But not excited to try them after that interaction. How much could it have cost to pour 2 new iced coffees? Or even to stop to ask us if we want milk or sugar included. Oh well won't be back.

Moon donuts will always and forever be my favorite donut place. When I'm in the mood for a delicious doughnut no other place will do. This is my go to when I need a sweet treat that's always perfection. They do the specialty donuts so well but the classics are always my favorite. You can never go wrong with a glazed twist or a chocolate doughnut and some donut holes. The service is top notch and they are so kind all the time. I also like seeing the regulars just enjoying their donuts. I never have a hard time finding parking in their lot either.
