During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. ＼(｀0´)／ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. unique donut spot. They have many offerings but they do sell out if you go late in the day. I ordered the cream cheese and peanut butter and my husband got the pistachio. I also ordered the matcha cream latte but don't make the same mistake as me, it is an iced latte, however the photo looks like a warm drink and iced isn't in the name. It was a good latte but I was disappointed when I realized it wasn't hot. The donuts were all very fresh. The cream cheese was very good, and had the cream cheese taste as other bakery items do but less of that super sweet cream cheese taste, which is nice. I ordered a chocolate donut with an iced cream latte. Donut was a 3.5/5. Mid. I specialize in chocolate donuts and this one did not exactly *wow* me. It was moist, decent chocolate flavor to it. It felt more generic than anything, no offense donut. The maple pecan donut my friend ordered was a 4/5 though. I enjoyed it more than the chocolate donut I had ordered, but pls dont tell the chocolate donut that. The iced cream latte? PHEW. That coffee was pretty amazing. It kept me AWAKE. Got the bowels moving for sure too. It is not sweet so just beware of that. Coffee flavor is ON POINT. robust, full of flavor 5/5. The service was not good whatsoever. I mentioned it was my first time there, and typically I would be informed about the establishment and their specialties and so.... but not here. Been here a couple of times, but not really worth coming back. Nice space with a good vibe. Customer service is generally poor. Workers don't seem happy to be there or help. Interesting donut flavors. Very hit or miss. Almost everything is cream filled. Wildly overpriced. A dozen will cost you $55-60. Execution is good, but it doesn't justify the price. I think they forgot that at the end of the day, these are donuts not dessert. Type of place you try once or twice and then decide their gimmick isn't worth the price of admission. Came here around 8:40AM on 10/19/25.interior was nice and captivating; however, there was ZERO greeting/customer service upon arrival and we were the only customers in the donut shop. I also didn't know that you ONLY have the option to order on the kiosk? The girl working seemed like she didn't want to be there or interact any customers. So, we ordered on the kiosk and came to the conclusion that not every donut on the display isn't available on the kiosk. Most importantly, I received really bad customer service after I placed my order. First, I asked if they had knives and the girl didn't say anything but point to where they were. Second, There was a miscommunication with my order and the girl working gave me so much attitude! This is such a shame because the donuts we got (Raspberrry ring, butter pistachio, maple pecan, onion sesame, cream cheese, Chocolate roll) were all really good. I liked the butter pistachio donuts I got but didn't like any other flavors I got. The earl gray cake donut tasted dry and stale. The chocolate cream donuts tasted too dense and cream inside too runny. It also tasted rather artificial. The peanut butter one was ok. Nothing to write home about. Parking is free and plenty. No bathroom available inside. No way to wash hands pre or post stuffing your face with donuts. There are seatings available inside and also kiosk to order donuts and drinks to simplify things. We stopped by to get boba next door and just saw this place. Korean donuts??? Had to try. They were sold out of many of the favorites but doood... they were all amazing! Mango ball (5): delicious mango crème. Dusted with some mango outside. Awesome. Hazelnut choco (5): chocolate glaze with some hazelnut filling. Delicious. I found this don't place when I took my son to the boba shop next door. Their menu alone looked so delicious. A few weeks later I see an instagram reel introducing this place as a chain from Korea known for their soft, fluffy dough and delicious cream filling. I took some in for a company party but I was so hungry stole a piece of the butter pistachio and by far my favorite cream filling donut ever! If you're not into cream filling this place may not be your jam as 90% of their spread are filled either some kind of cream. I stumbled upon this place after walking out of HomeGoods, and I am so glad that I did, this location, the service, the donuts and decor was truly what I needed to end my workday. The cutest donut shop ever ! Saw this the other day while getting boba the other day and thought hey let's get some donuts it looked good so I wanted to try it. Went it and the service was quick and simple you order what they have on display and pay right there and then ! They also have a kiosk too on the days they are crowded. The place is very spacious so you can get your boba and eat your donuts while chilling with close friends and family . The donuts were really delicious easy to eat and it wasn't super sweet. I got the match donut and it was very delicious not too sweet but also not too bitter from the matcha taste. My husband got the crème brûlée donut and he liked that one as well. A lot of people use this company for wholesale items, so I've seen a lot of their donuts. They are really simple and appealing. I got the pleasure of trying them recently on a weekday closer to 3pm and it was empty. I've usually seen lines out of the door in the past or the inside filled with customers, so I was grateful to finally make it in. Inside is very clean and tells a nice little story about the brand with merch available for purchase. The donuts are on display very nicely & the service was quick, it could've been friendlier. The donuts were fresh & had a nice texture. I love a chocolate cake donut and they hit the mark with their recipe. Matcha cream donut was very strong matcha flavor and had a nice little tang to it with the cream. The dough was giving a slightly fermented brioche and I sure liked that. I first visited Old Ferry Donut when they first opened at Torrance Crossroads. There's plenty of parking even if it can get busy. When I first visited, they only had regular coffee, but now they've expanded to lattes and more coffee options, which was a nice surprise. The iced cream latte I tried today was actually on par with some dedicated coffee shops, creamy, not too sweet, so def a perfect pairing with a donut. They have a fun variety of donuts! The peanut butter donut was pretty basic, good, but nothing too wild. One of my favorites is definitely the butter pistachio donut. It's rolled in crushed pistachios and filled with this amazing buttery, nutty cream. It's not too sweet, I can never finish a whole one because it's huge and heavy, but it's delicious. I also tried the tiramisu donut, which is half glazed, half dusted with cocoa powder. It's filled with mascarpone cream, and while I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it coz there's a slight aftertaste I'm not sure about, it's still a good option. The crème brulee donut taste pretty much like a regular glazed donut with a cream-like filling, and the white chocolate sesame donut is a bit drier, more cake-like but great if you're in the mood for nuttier, less sweet profile. Their hazelnut choco donut is pretty good too, and it does not have a nuttela filling, its more of a mousse like cream with a hint of hazelnut flavor and not too sweet. The customer service is just okay, they're not overly friendly or chatty, but they get the job done. And heads up, their restroom tends to be out of order a lot, so plan accordingly. They do run out of the popular donuts by the end of the day, so come early if you want the best selection. read more

Stopped by Home Depot and noticed the irresistible picture of the donut with creamy fillings, perfect for an afternoon snack. :) They have excellent selections of fancy donuts, such as the signature Crème Brûlée donuts and most popular Butter Pistachios donuts, and my favorite Boston cream. For the Boston Cream donut, the cream filling is sweet but not overly sweet, outside chocolate cover is nice and soft. The server was friendly, patient, and prompt. I recently heard about the butter pistachio donut from Old Ferry and immediately looked for the closest location. Upon entering, you're greeted with a colorful and clean donut shop vibe. They have so many unique flavors it was hard to choose what to get but we went with the butter pistachio (obviously), crème brûlée, and cookies and cream. The cookies and cream was great, the creme brûlée was good, but in the photos, it looks like it's supposed to have that crunchy crème brûlée topping and ours did not have that. The real star of the show was definitely the butter pistachio donut, it was so delicious, definitely very sweet, but it's such a unique flavor for a donut, i loved it. There are so many good donut places in the LA area, it's hard for one to stand out, but Old Ferry definitely does! Upon stepping in, I was floored. I'm extremely impressed by the amount of detail that was put into this brand/shop; other business owners need to take note, as this is a masterclass. The wallpaper is cute, the mirror is awesome, the front cash register area is sick. The donut box has little hamster ears as the air vent, and even the napkins are branded! It may seem silly to hang out long at a donut shop to do work, but you totally can. There's A/C, the vibe is peaceful, the seats are comfy enough, and I believe there is WiFi. So honestly, this seems like a better spot than some coffee shops as it's so under the radar. Okay, I will admit--I was so fascinated by the vibe of the place that I completely forgot to take pictures of the actual donuts...but I can attest that the donuts themselves are amazing, as well. Most of the flavors are unconventional or untraditional, so this is the kind of donut for the adventurers. The most popular one seems to be the creme brulee--it was great. However, I'm a big fan of cream or jelly-filled donuts, and those were even BETTER. I liked the matcha cream a lot. The donuts were not too sweet, but had a nice chewy texture to them. Came across this place when I wanted to pick up some treats a couple doors over. Saw that this was newer here so I stopped by. There are so many options, but it's donuts and they don't hold well so you can buy too many at one time. I guess what's unique about them are the flavors and they have donuts with filling despite having a donut hole if that makes sense. The butter pistachio was good. You don't often find pistachio flavored donuts. Not amazing but I guess worth a try. It's buttery and tastes like pistachio. I don't know how else to describe it. The tiramisu was ok. Their donuts flavors are quite delightful and one can find on the menu flavors such as Coconut, Peanut Butter, Butter Pistachio, Tiramisu, Cream Cheese, Creme Brulee, Raspberry, Choco Fudge, Raspberry and Boston Cream. They also offer a variety of different drinks like flavored milk and coffee. Considering how they have such unique and delicious options; I was expecting these donuts to be pricey. I was quite surprised and happy to see their donuts around the $3.75 range. That's quite the steal! For my first visit here; I got one Butter Pistachio and one Peanut Butter. My favorite definitely was the Peanut Butter. I could definitely taste that nutty flavor! Peanut Butter was definitely on point. Been wanting to try this place out for a while and I'm glad we did! We got the Butter Pistachio, and it was delicious! It has a cream filling that is very fluffy and not too thick and heavy. It goes well with the whole donut and compliments the pistachio topping well. The donut was on the heavier side so definitely shareable. They have many unique flavors on their menu and a display case when you order. Their donuts are pretty pricey but comparable to other specialty donut shops nowadays.
