PINWHEEL CAFE has been around for a while, and I don't know why it took us so long to try it. Super cute cafe to grab a quick bite or pick up some yummy pastries. Tons of seating and a lot of parking since it's located in a huge plaza. My go-to is the salmon frenchie, which is served on a ficelle -- which looks like a mini baguette. The Parisian frenchie is also good, simple but delicious. I also highly recommend the Californian tartine, which is their version of an avocado toast, and it just tastes so fresh and the flavors work so well together. We've tried a couple of their pastries, as well, but we usually stop by for brunch or a quick lunch. There are so many other items that I need to try on the menu, and I will because this is definitely one of our go-to brunch spots if we're running errands in the area. A delightful little French cafe that I never knew was here. Cozy, clean, fun and bright. And the food is wonderful. I had the prosciutto sandwich and my friend had the cinnamon roll. And the cinnamon roll was big and dripping with icing. And beautiful, the prosciutto was toasty. And all the ingredients, the arugula, the cheese, and of course the prosciutto was flavorful and wonderful. Can't say enough nice things about this place. Everything is made in house. Their basic consistent baked goods are good and have tasted fresh during the last 5 times I have ever been there. On Auguat 24 I stopped in for quiche with one of my friends off the "Specials" menu. I ignored the fact that I recently learned that "Specials" means older food that needs to be pushed along. I believed that there are always exceptions to the rule, however both slices of quiche were stale. Cudos to the manager for offering my friend to bake another one and provide 2 more slices to us free of charge. My friend refused the offer due to a time constraint. If you're looking for a cute cafe to grab a bite at and get some pastries, I would highly recommend checking Pinwheel out! It is in a big plaza with lots of businesses so the parking lot can be pretty congested but we did not have an issue finding a spot when we were there Friday morning around 11 AM. When you walk in you wait in line to order your pastries first and then drinks and any other food items at the cashier. They also have a self service ordering kiosk near the doorway. Service here was excellent and fast, all of our food came out within 10 minutes. We ordered the pistachio croissant to share which was scrumptious. It was perfectly flaky and soft at the same time. Inside, it had the perfect sweetness level of crushed pistachio. I am usually a big almond croissant girl but this definitely hit that itch. I will be trying their almond croissant next time. For drinks, we got the Spanish latte and the hazelnut latte. They were both good but didn't blow my socks off. I don't think I really tasted the hazelnut in my latte. For our mains, we got the prosciutto open face sandwich and the smoked salmon omelette. I know those aren't the official names, my bad . These both came with a side salad which you get to choose the dressing you want. There were three options... I only remember two: balsamic and Dijon. I tried the Dijon and it was tangy and creamy - which I loved! The omelette was delicious, I would order it again. The prosciutto sandwich was hard to eat because everything kept falling off and when I tried to knife and fork it, it still kept just falling apart. You can taste the quality of the prosciutto though. I probably wouldn't order it again purely on the difficulty of eating it. I also wish it came with a little more because if I did not eat some of my girlfriend's omelette and the croissant, I would not be full on only the prosciutto tart meal. Although the food is good, the owner is terrible. A group of women and I have gone there every week for the past 8+ years. We order food and coffee/or tea. Their tea has changed and is not good. Their coffee isnt great and they dont have decaf coffee. The food and pastries are good. Last week one of us brought in our own coffee and the owner blew a gasket, and said we could not sit inside with it, even though we ordered food....and we weren't allowed to sit outside either. This week, he stood at the counter and watched to be sure we didnt bring anything in. And he's put up a sign now stating no outside drinks are allowed. We're changing restaurants. We go to enjoy our morning, not be scolded like children. Other places will welcome our business and our money. Having visited a few times, the most accurate way I can describe my experiences is "inconsistent". On a couple of visits, the food was fine and on others the food was terrible. The worst involved their croque madame, which isn't always available. I was excited to try it after it had been unavailable my first two visits, but very disappointed when they served me a sandwich that seemed like it had been left out overnight. The bread, the ham, the cheese, nothing was remotely fresh about it at all. Otherwise, their omelettes and sandwiches and coffee drinks have all been fine, simple and clean. I stopped by a French inspired cafe called the Pinwheel Café and it was great! The service was welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can tell the team here truly cares about creating a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The almond croissant was incredible! It was light, flaky, and filled with just the right amount of almond filling. You could tell it came straight out of the oven. The quiche of the day (broccoli and cheese) was perfectly made, with a golden, buttery crust and a creamy, flavorful filling. it's been a year since my last review. i visited again yesterday and had a much better experience. staff was great--very sweet and helpful with recommendations and on top of cleaning tables and all that. i got the blueberry danish which was really good. lots of options and all the pastries looked good, will have to try more of the menu next time. ambiance was also good--there were plenty of people around but it's big inside with ample seating so was still able to get work done with my laptop. wifi was good too. read more

My kids and I really enjoyed the food and the pastries at this location. I would give it 5 stars but it is a bit over priced. I understand that the quality and freshness of their products is superb, but my total was a bit shocking. My kids ate the morning croissant sandwich with bacon, eggs, and cheese, and I ate a turkey avocado croissant sandwich. The croissant is deliciously flakey and fresh. Phenomenal pastries! It's been a few years since I last tried Pinwheel Cafe Bakery and I can honestly say I don't know why it took me so long to come back. I went to this to spot for breakfast this past weekend and wow it was amazing! My friend and I decided to get savory and sweet treats. We got their Chicken Pesto Turnover ($6.90) and their Pistachio Croissant ($5.90). We first their Chicken Pesto Turnover. This turnover was delightful. The pesto flavor was on point and the chicken was so tender. I would definitely get this again. I didn't think anything could top that turnover but I was equally as amazed with the Pistachio Croissant. I love croissants and my usual go to croissant is an Almond Croissant but now Pistachio has won my heart. Pinwheel's Pistachio Croissant was packed with pistachios both inside and outside. Recently returned to Pinwheel Cafe Bakery for breakfast and was, unfortunately, somewhat disappointed. Food: I ordered a Nordique omelette, which the menu describes as an omelette with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, onion, lemon, and dill. I also upgraded my side to their ratatouille. The omelette was an American-style (versus French-style) omelette, shaped like a half-moon or taco and somewhat dense. Inside were slices of smoked salmon. I was hoping that the salmon would have been season with dill, but sadly, it was not. More sadly was the fact that the cream cheese, capers, onions, and dill were not integrated into the omelette in any way. Rather, they were simply set to the side. The cream cheese was hard to spread; the capers were hard to pick up; and the onion and dill were cut more to be garnishes than part of the omelette. Finally, the ratatouille (a vegetable stew of seasoned tomatoes, eggplant, onions, and zucchini) tasted okay but was very oily ... there was oil pooling at the bottom of the bowl. Service: The servers were friendly. Bottom Line: Okay, but disappointing when I consider my first visit. read more

The French Onion Soup is so on point and the accompanying baguette was perfection. I don't recall if the menu was as extensive before. ALASKAN TARTINE: I requested this with a French onion soup which was delicious. Just enough melted cheese on top and flavorful soup. The only snag? It's not hot enough. It was bordering on warm by the time I got it. The tartine, however, was AMAZING! Made to order, the smoked salmon was tasty. The radish added texture, the red onions and dill added color and taste, the capers added a bit of tang and the cream cheese balanced it all. The bread was thin and held on to all the toppings nicely. It matched nicely with my iced matcha latte. Highly recommending. My Mom had the nordique omelette which I had a couple of bites of and it, too, was delish! Side salad was fresh and served as a good palate cleanser. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 3.5. VALUE: 4. Okay... so, sometimes you just have to laugh at the decisions restaurants make. We go to pinwheel every so often. It's pricey... but every now and then we'll splurge. So the other day we go and I order the chicken club. It's expensive for what you get but it's delicious. So we get to the counter and the dude says "we're out of chicken" hey... it happens so I say no big deal just throw some turkey on it and we're good. -this is the good part- they say okay and then say they're going to charge me four dollars! I started to explain that a substitution is when one thing is taken off and the other thing is added and that, in this situation the one thing was out of stock so... really it's their issue running out of chicken and I was simply going to have them put turkey on so they could still sell me something...One of them said that the owners told them to do it this way. Now... I don't run a restaurant but this is just laughable. You ran out of chicken so you're going to charge someone to put turkey in its place?
