This was my 1st time here. I originally walked in here thinking they were the same one I visited in Fair Oaks Mall. Oops. I was thinking they had a selection of hot drinks....I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a slightly larger drink selection than the $2.00 coffee, especially to go with the donuts! I was super excited to get a hot dog!! I chose the original with half cheddar/half mozzarella. It was very good. Isabella was very friendly and inviting as soon as we walked in. However, they are either backed up with the cooking or understaffed.. The cooking time took a while, and Isabella had to ring up customers as well as make the drinks, serve the food, etc. There were a few tables available inside, as well as outdoor seating a few stores down. They are on the same block/building as Altitude, so there is a parking garage around the corner, as well as some parking in the front of the storefronts. Would I return? I went here with my mom and brother and WOW this place blew me away. The food is absolutely amazing and so is the boba tea. I highly recommend the classic boba milk tea and the churro doughnut (both were perfection). The doughnuts were genuinely the softest I've ever had, and the hotdog was super good too. I got the ramen one with mozzarella inside, and it was delicious. The staff was honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met. They explained the menu clearly, made great recommendations, and told us our order would take 7-10 minutes, but it was ready in about 5. However, plan on a 10-15 minutes wait time while you order to make it. I've had bubble tea before, since it is pre-made there is no customization, it is too sweet for me. Stopped by today during noon time to pick up some goodies. Store is very small so the line goes out the door. We ordered churros, blueberry, yuzu, strawberry, chocolate, original flavored mochi donuts. First of all let me just say that these are not your type of donuts that you get at Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. These are made out of MOCHI so the texture is going to come out chewy. These are different in their own unique texture. Best one for me is the churros. We also ordered the Cheeto mozzarella corndog, ramen corn dog and potatoes corn dog. These do not carry well so it's best that you eat it right there. The Cheeto mozzarella would have tasted better if it was hot and gooey. Ramen was the next best flavor, very sweet and salty. The ramen gives it a crunch factor. The potato corndog would have tasted great if it was eaten there as well. The bit of fries were soggy by the time we got home. These are a must get!! We also got their bubble tea, Thai tea and matcha tea. The fact that their website states that you can't adjust sugar level should be a red flag. The drinks were overly sweet, as my girlfriend puts it, they milked the whole damn cow, it literally was milky. The tapioca balls were on point, nice and chewy but damn son... I have to rank this place in the middle! I liked the donuts a good bit - despite not enjoying overly sweet treats, I found them delightful. I love the chewy & fluffy texture. It reminds me slightly of a french cruller. The flavors are great, I will be going back to try more. I did not enjoy the korean hotdogs. I found them to just be "meh"; the grease taste was strong, perhaps older grease. I really only got reminiscent flavors of the hotdog and the components were lacking salt. The cheddar wasn't present in taste. The sugar coating is subtle and an enjoyable relief to cut the grease taste for the first bite. Texture wise - they are great. The business doesn't allow you to call and place an order but for $2 you can order ahead of time online. The hotdogs take about 18 minutes to fry; which was surprising - since I was the only person there for the entirety of my visit. + Atmosphere is cute; fun flower wall and green sitting wall for the "selfie" generation. My husband and I discovered Mochinut in early May and have been coming here almost every weekend . We always look for the black sesame mochi donut flavor since we had that flavor only twice in the beginning and we don't see it on the weekends anymore. Perhaps it's not a popular flavor. Hoping more people get black sesame and becomes Mochinut's weekend flavor! Anyhow, Mochinut's mochi donuts are so chewy, soft (as how mochi should be), and the texture has been consistent as well as fresh every time we came here. We've tried different mochi places in the DMV area and Mochinut is by far the best mochi donut place out there! We love it so much that we got half a dozen today (I know it's not the weekend) for my husband's birthday~ We are lucky to be living pretty close from here to be able to come every weekend with our fur baby. Took the whole family and split 3 mochinuts between us. Nice clean shop sort of near Chefscape in Leesburg Village. No outside signs but lots of people inside trying it out on a Wednesday evening. First choices chocolate and strawberry were out but that probably happens just like a donut and bagel shop. Tried plain (which is frosted), blueberry, and churro. Huge hit with wife who used to live in Japan. Favorite for most were the churro but I liked the plain. My favorite mochi is like a fire grilled version and it has a hint of that crusty flavor. The donut is in fact fluffy and chewy as they explain on their website but it's not worth it. The corn dogs and motz sticks are appetizing but I wasn't going to spend $5 for one. From one recommendation from a very good friend, I've been going to Mochinut with my family and friends. I have a huge sweet tooth so when I first saw the Mochi donuts I've always wanted to try them and I must say they are delicious not because its just a donut, but also how the taste and their unique look differentiate from a regular donut you would see in grocery stores or other donut shops. I would get very excited when the flavors change weekly and I bring them to my family. They love it. A huge 10/10. Something I would check off on my bucket list because we've never seen these before but I'm glad it's in Leesburg :) I also enjoyed trying out the Korean corn dogs and my personal favorite would have to be the potato half Hot Dog and half mozzarella. Somehow, this was even worse. $36 overall, and was informed they were "out" of pearls completely as well as the proper beverage cup, and the tea we had planned on purchasing. My son had looked forward to this all day. We ended up with overpriced flavorless room temp milk, and the price didn't reflect the lack of product, as we were informed they didn't have the ability to adjust cost. Came during soft opening. They had original, Yuzu, churro, choco pebble, strawberry, and they were out of blueberry. First time trying a mochinut and was expecting chewy and dense but to my surprise, fluffy and slightly chewy! Delicious and addicting! Choco pebble was my favorite, then original. Yuzu is like a citrus-like flavor but I thought it was too sweet. My friend and I being Asian agreed choco pebble was our favorite likely because it was the least sweet. They seem pretty busy and after ordering two donuts, it took maybe 10 mins to get my order. I assume the donuts were already cooked and all they'd have to do is put it in a bag/sleeve so not sure why it took so long. My donuts were room temp so it's not like they had to cook it to order. The Donuts are great! They are super doughy and sweet. I would highly recommend the strawberry donut. However, the bubble tea is awful and should be skipped. Don't let the looks fool you into paying that much for it. It looks good, but it is way too sweet it ends up being an unpleasant taste. I'm not sure about the other flavors for the tea, but I surely won't be back to give them a try. The owner should really know the lack of effort put into this place by the employees. I hopped over real quick at 7:50 this evening to try and pick up a few donuts before closing and they had already turned out the lights and were waking out the front door. I asked if they closed at 8 and they said "uh we ran out of donuts". This is not the first time I've tried to come before closing to find them closed early. At times, we've waited there to place an order for 5 minutes before being acknowledged. Tonight was such a bummer because they clearly still had donuts and they clearly were just closing the store early. I doubt the owner appreciates the loss of business (and on numerous occasions). When they're open and actually serving their donuts, they're good. But the employees are so young and just don't care. Very poor business practice and I'm sure the owner would like to know this is happening at their store. read more
