Good bite. We placed our order (to be honest I failed on some Pics here... we got a cheese dog, a chili dog, and a regular dog... all were served on that classic New England bun (I'm a Buffalo NY guy ) and weren't sahlens but these were off the bun big and the only wish is grilled not grill top and an order of fries and cheese. They all came out quick, which was a huge plus and a sign that the kitchen team is a well oiled machine. But all the hot dogs delivered solid bite. Not a Complaint to be had. The fries were hot, the cheese was a touch spicy , the kids chicken bites were super crispy and the burger was well done. The roadside tent was the perfect spot for us travelers to enjoy this meal as well. I'd definitely make a stop again next time I'm passing through.

Zero ice in the drinks.. How anyone could like these dogs is beyond me... toms USED to be soooo good back in the day , but has been aweful now for years, how hard is it to have dogs grilled and kept on one side of the grill?? Would be so much better.... Rondeau's in Palmer makes toms look and taste like rabbit food as they actually use blue seal natural casings AND they grill them, and they are 2 dogs fries or onion rings and a drink for 9.99$ !!!!!!

Delicious!! Nicely buttered roll with so much lobster you have to eat some of it before you can even pick this roll up. And not just claws like some places this was all solid lobster meat. $30 with fries- wish we remembered to opt for the onion straws (next time). Lobster was tender and flavorful with not an over abundant amount of mayo just the tiniest bit to hold everything together and it was tender, flavorful, and overall delicious. Arnold Palmer wasn't powdered lemonade either, it was perfectly fresh and not overly sweet. Then shop at the Amazing food co-op next door. Looking forward to our next trip here. Looks just like the many pics already posted.

We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

Onion Rings (10/10): These are actually perfect onion rings. Don't know how it could get better than this. Perfectly crispy, and the onion bites cleanly through. Fries (5/10): Fries, on the other hand, were average. Everything on the menu is really cheap. I feel like the burgers are the best deal. The hot dogs are worth trying, though. You must order the onion rings!

Initial impression can be a bit dodgy because it's super old and worn, but it really grows on you. Tiny menu but perfect for a quick old-school snack of burgers/dogs/fries. And the hard working staff is super welcoming. I usually sit right next to the door that opens/closes nonstop but I never mind. I always find myself saying "hi" to literally every stranger that walks in. It just ooozes with that increasingly rare "locals only" vibe I love so much. After half an hour sitting at the counter I start to feel like and honorary local. It reminds me of the Tasty in Harvard square I used to hang out at late night. And the total lack of posturing is a welcome and refreshing change from the fine dining world I tend to gravitate toward. A hot lunch for under $10 - WINNING! Pickup a big "Jacks hotdogs" sticker for your car- they're super cool!

They made us feel welcome and were very helpful to us newbies. Our orders were taken and we were explained the process. Most of the condiments are self-serve. Both times I had the chili, yellow mustard and onions. My wife had Cole Slaw on her first one and Sauerkraut and mustard the second week. We made quite the mess but enjoyed the food. The hot dogs are very tasty and cooked just the way I we like them, a little char but not burnt. We had to cut the dogs into quarters and the rolls held up fine. The chili, while it tastes good is a little bland and my wife would have liked a little more flavor in the Sauerkraut too. The order of fries is large, hot and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The store is a nostalgic walk into the past with retro fixtures, tables and decorations. It's fun to read the 45's that line the walls while enjoying these dogs. The dogs are a novelty and are good enough to come back for. They have an extensive menu and I'm tempted to try the other offerings but the Two-Foot dogs always call me back.
