The guy there forget our order and seems rude when we ask for the sauce go with the hot dog. I order crunchy cereal half and half and the lady behind me order hot cheetos half and half. So when the cereal come out, I came to pick up my order and he said it was not mine, it's for the lady behind me. Then he act like he forget my order and go back inside to make it. He return and call again for the "crunchy cereal half and half" but no one answer so he call the lady behind me because he believe that it's hers. Thought the popcorn would be Asian / Taiwanese like most places that offer boba but it's just normal American style not very moist or flavorful on the dryer side. With over 100 branches in the US, and approximately 75 more branches in the works as of December 2022, Mochinut sells Korean Rice Flour hotdogs, boba drinks, and a few other appetizers, but they specialize in mochi donuts. In fact, Mochinut is the most popular brand of Mochi donuts; Mochinut is gaining popularity owing to its unique shape and wonderful texture; light crispy coating with a soft chewy inside. Mochi donut is a donut that originated from Hawaii which is a combination of American doughnuts and Japanese mochi. What does that exactly mean? They're made with rice flour. The rice flour makes Mochi Donuts stretchy and chewy. There is a sticky addictiveness to each bite, a textural element that is completely different from yeast or cake donuts. I've been to two other Mochinut locations (one in Irvine, CA, and one in Los Angeles, CA), and unfortunately, this franchise in Peoria fails to meet the standard of Mochinut, in aspects of taste and service. We ordered a half-dozen of the mochi donuts and three Korean Rice Flour hotdogs. In terms of taste, as many other Yelpers have noted, the donuts were EXTREMELY dry. Not as chewy and stretchy as they should be. The donuts are shaped like eight balls. It's mainly for aesthetics, and should not be falling apart when you hold them, but unfortunately, all of our donuts fell apart before we could even take a bite into them. They're likely using the incorrect amount of ingredients. Now, although there is a "Soft Grand Opening" banner outside the storefront, this should not fool you into dismissing the dryness. They've been open for almost half a year now. The hot dogs were better but still lacked that crisp and stretchy taste that Korean hotdogs are known for. I've been eating Korean hotdogs since 2013 before they blew up in scale in the US, and the ones I've had at this location were probably one of the poorest quality. Too much batter, hardly any cheese inside, and the sausages were literally cold (we ordered the half-and-half cheese and sausage). In terms of service, there were three people working. Two of them were in the kitchen making the donuts and hot dogs, and one was in the front handling the cashier. The cashier was quite rude and seemed very upset to be there. Giving not only us but also the customers before and after us, a very dirty stare, as if we were an inconvenience to them. Now, I'm 21 years old and I've also worked at an ice cream shop before (Somi Somi). I understand that you can't expect the finest standards for high-school employees and that working a service job that entails multiple responsibilities is very tough, but I do hope that the management of this location can remind their employees of the proper etiquette. This location is less than a year old, and it has one of the lowest ratings out of the 100+ Mochinut locations in the US. read more

So, I'll start off with the fact that either since the "5 star review" was posted (which is someone with only one review and it's for here) that something has changed about the way they do the mochinuts. They have them pre-made. They are not fresh made with your choice of toppings. Cool. The website and the first review definitely are deceiving. That being said. These are yummy... overly sweet, but yummy. I was definitely disappointed by the fact that these were indeed made far ahead of time and unable to customize, but c'est la vie. The texture is delightfully chewy, and even my husband said all donuts should be that texture. I got a 3 pack with flavors: milk and cookies, strawberry milk, and ube pebbles. The only thing flavored on these are the toppings, not the mochinut itself. Strawberry milk was definitely my favorite, being a little less sugary than the others. I also got a Ramen dog. Came out hot. Took about 9 minutes to get it, and I got mine after the people that came in after me... but ok. 3 out of 6 sauces were labelled... but I went with (what I assumed was) ketchup, curry sauce (delicious and labelled), and spicy mayo (technically not labelled but it was kinda obvious to me). Very crunchy, and I assume that the hotdogs are all beef (that taste is very distinct) which is not traditional of the korean dogs, but that was ok by me. Overall, good food. Just came home from Cali to discover that there was a Mochinut in Peoria and we were excited to give this location a try. Unfortunately this location was sub par compared to the Mission Viejo location we visited this past weekend. Employees were not very friendly or enthusiastic and the boba I had in my coffee was hard and not chewy at all. My coffee also came in a regular plastic cup with a dome lid instead of the plastic can because they ran out. I think they should have told us that when we ordered the coffee as we like the can to keep the coffee "fresh". Luckily the Mochinuts were pretty tasty. I was so excited to have mochi donuts near by, but sadly I was so underwhelmed. Donuts were dry and nothing to brag about especially for the price. Also ordered the potato half and half, it was suppose to have cheese, but all the cheese had oozed out, and they made it super crispy almost to the point where my teeth struggled biting into it. I went before closing, mid day, and afternoon time for Tteok-bokki and they didn't have it not once. The fish I cream the advertised not available either. Unfortunately I went when I was pregnant really excited but they didn't have anything that I wanted. Everything was super tasty but I unfortunately did not have the chance to snag a picture. The food did take a little while because I got corn dogs and the donuts to try with friends. The service wasn't super friendly but they still did their job. What more could you ask for. I can't decide which one was my favorite, the potatoes or the hot Cheetos corndog. They were both really really good. I got the half hotdog, half cheese inside. It was perfect. The breading is different than an American corndog. It will not taste like it, but also should not be a deterrent. The flavorfulness is there. There is sauces on the side you can add too. We added spicy mayo to the potato one. Best pairing! There is also ketchup and mustard, and I think another. Boba was made perfect. Plenty of boba, plenty of creaminess. We got the coffee flavor boba. As for the donuts, I can't recall the flavors we got; sorry. But they were also very good, chewy, fresh, not too sweet. Was super excited to hear about this location opening! Went after work with my significant other to try it out. The hours are posted that they are open till 8pm on Tuesdays and every other day online and on the physical door at the location. We arrived at 7:30pm thinking we had enough time to be in and out. The store was all closed up and the doors were locked. It was very disappointing. Their food is so good and I enjoyed going to their other locations but this was very disappointing as we drove 25 minutes to get to this location. I've been to this place 3x considering how awful the customer service and they're the only game in town. This particular chinese or Vietnamese girl or whatever she is just awful. She will run this place to the ground with her lack of personality. Went there for the first time and she sent me away and told me to come back since they open at 11 am. I looked at my phone and it said 10:59 lol Im like okay I'll be back in a couple minutes when you get your S@@@ together. Bought 3 mochinuts for and didn't even get a "thank you" wish I would get my tip back. So bewildered by the way she operates. Maybe it's a culture thing. Super rude and straight to the point. 2nd time was sub par got a different person that actually thanked me this time. 3rd time was the last straw for me. I ordered a dozen and 2 bobas. This young man was nice and more personable. Decided to give this place a shot as it was near my local grocery store and came in unfamiliar with their menu/concept. I ordered two doughnuts and two corn dogs and all of it was very tasty and fresh! My favorite was the Ube doughnut and Hot Cheeto mozzarella. I also ordered their milk tea with boba and the flavor was amazing. The only downside was the boba itself was hard which is unfortunate. Don't waste your time and money at this location just make the drive to Tempe for the better one! I came here last week with my family to grab some doughnuts and food they offered thinking it would be the same experience as the Tempe location and was I wrong! We got there at about 7:20pm followed by another couple. All 6 of us were standing waiting for our food and at 7:30 the staff decided to turn off all the sign lights and the manager from the back told the front employees they were now closed. Right as that happened an employee from the back also brought out a fresh tray of the churro and Reese's doughnuts and another family walked in at the same time. The cashier told the family they were closed for the night...at 7:30pm...when all the posted signs on the door say 8pm! When we received our order 3 out of the 6 doughnuts were rock hard like they had been sitting there for a day or two. I asked the cashier if they were owned by the same people as the Tempe location or if they were franchised locations. She said they were different owners which made sense since Tempe offers different combos with the doughnuts, food, and drinks. If you're this franchise owner your employees are turning down paying customers 30 minutes before the posted closing! Lazy and rude staff with stale doughnuts, we'll be making the drive to Tempe with friendlier staff, way better quality food, and a real closing time of 8pm! read more
