I been here twice, and it's clear this place is not really good. I ordered the donuts and they were meh at best. I had better mochi donuts before. Worst part is I have to buy 3 minimum. Second time I went, I ordered a peach and mango tea, and the rice hot dog. The tea tasted so bad, that I only can take a sip and had to throw it out. The dog was okay, nothing special. This is my second time going to Mochinut in Simi and it was a better experience than the first time during their soft opening. Granted they are a new business and have a lot to improve. This second time I arrived right after they had opened so there was a display full of donuts and different options to choose from so I was able to get a dozen donuts. I've had mochi donuts before so I knew I'm going to like them, they are chewy and not too sweet and different flavored frostings are delicious. read more

Wow! This place is busy....but I understand why! I got a hot Cheetoh mozzarella corn dog, brown sugar boba, and a box of 3 donuts for me and my bf to share. Even with the business staff was nice and tried getting things out fast. I got my boba first, then my donuts (maple, blueberry, strawberry), then finally my Korean dog. The corn dog was fabulous and tasted exactly like Two Hands corn dogs. I got it with sweet chili for dipping. Donuts texture was great. Brown sugar boba was a bit sweet but still very enjoyable. Super unorganized staff, and incredibly unprepared, as well as unsanitary. Clearly the staff wasn't taught health code protocols; I watched one of the staff members reach into his wallet to grab money (when they ran out of change) and hand cash over to his coworker, then didn't change gloves and proceeded to touch every single donut. As well as blowing into his gloves to put them on, and wiping his nose with his "new" gloves on. Also got corn dogs, NEVER AGAIN, soggy, literally dripping in oil, even after getting them "remade" (when they handed us "new" hot dogs literally 2 minutes after waiting 20 for the originals) and they were still SOGGY Long story short, they just are not prepared and not properly trained I would recommend not wasting your time read more

My wife has never tried mochi donuts, and we thought we would pick one up to split, follolwing a meal net door, and prior to running errands. It turns out that they'll give you one free is you buy something else, but they won't sell you one. We did not want to leave a box of donuts in the car on a 95 degree day, so we left. I've already been to this new place a few times! They have a unique selection of donuts, drinks and hot dogs. Great for if you want to bring home a large order of donuts, or if you just want to grab a quick bite or refreshing drink. The service is pretty quick, and it's easy to pay at checkout. Store was super clean. The mocinuts were a crossover between a doughnut and moci ball - it's an interesting but nice texture. The mocinuts were not as sugary as a doughnut but still satisfied my sweet-tooth. The person helping me was great, she explained what it was well and the flavors they had. The service was very poor. I think it's important for this establishment to have people that understand urgency and are better at communicating. The young lady that helped us was very quiet, and did not communicate properly to us the wait time, she seemed very lost and moved with zero urgency. People that came in after us that order just a drink waited for over ten minutes for her to make it. She told us it would be 5 to 10 minutes for our order and after 30 minutes of waiting, we were told our order could not be completed. I know they are new so hopefully they will work out the kinks and move at a better pace. They said the corndogs take five minutes to cook however, us and the customer before us ordered one each and we waited almost 40 minutes for them. I ordered three donuts, I got two of my order. I ordered a corndog with potato, received the original instead of what I ordered but that's ok because it was very good.
