Not gonna lie, I'm kind of addicted to this place right now. Truth be told, I've only gotten their sandwiches and wraps, not their donuts. But so far everything has been good. I first decided to come here to give my business to this local shop, instead of the huge corporate restaurant on the other side of the parking lot. Now I stop by almost every weekend. I've gotten their breakfast sandwiches, breakfast croissants, breakfast burritos, and wraps. All are solid options. The service is friendly and food comes out super fast. Not sure how they do it, but hey I'm not complaining. What you see is what you get. No frills, just solid options. Would recommend to anyone that likes breakfast sandwiches. The best donuts in the area, especially if you're looking for classic donuts, ie glazed, old fashioned, etc. I'm also so glad I finally have a go-to spot for breakfast sandwiches. They have the closest thing to a pork roll in the area (iykyk) -- still not Taylor ham but it sure does satisfy the craving, just make sure to get it on an everything bagel. I've never been to Newbury Donut before but a friend recommended them so I called to see if they could do a custom order for my daughters birthday. The owner gave me his cell number had me text over a picture of what I was thinking and when I wanted them and that was it, I never had to think about it again. I picked them up this morning took them to my daughters final softball game and it was the talk of the town. All the girls raved over them the parents were asking where I got them so that they could go. Me and my sister just found this place on Wednesday in the morning. We have come back every morning since. We get off from work around 5 in the morning and have been trying to find a place to go. I was in Thousand Oaks and wanted to buy donuts for one of our clients. It was last minute and passed by this place. I did not look at reviews, just winged it. I bought two dozen donuts and allowed the employee to pick them out. Now keep in mind I don't eat donuts but love them and I did not have any of these. The reason for my post is due to my wife. She asked me to save her and my son a few donuts. All I took was a handful of donut holes and one donut. My wife could not stop ranting about how great the donuts were, soft fluffy, perfect sweetness. She wants to go back every day, I give them a 100 stars. This is a nice donut shop out in a strip mall with the sports bar Magoo's and next to a McDonald's. I've been here a few times, and have had nothing but good food here, but still nothing that makes it the king of the land (the land being the world of donuts in Newbury Park and surrounding towns). They have a pretty good variety, including some things like muffins and danishes, and a loyal, friendly clientele. They can seat eight in the back, with two sets of tables that are each interconnected sets of two tables that each seat two. Most people don't go for this type, especially since the store has sort of a long layout that puts these in a minor corridor. This makes it peaceful back here, because nobody ever sits there but me. If you feel like doing the sit-down donut thing, don't linger too long, because like the other donut stores, there aren't bathrooms. I have a way of getting donut holes as a free giveaway. This isn't me saying, "Man, I'm hot. I'm getting free stuff." I mean it's consistent, and you will, too, possibly with a certain minimum purchase. read more

Shocked to see a 4 Star rating. I went yesterday and still can't believe what I walked into. I should've went with my gut instinct, turned around and just brought donuts in to my employees another day. As soon as I saw the donuts in the display case I doubted myself but I figured what the heck, there's no such thing as a bad donut... WRONG! Lol... Dude, this was basically fried dough with a light sugar sprinkle. The donut guy although very nice was definitely not an expert in his trade. He hand dipped so donuts and shoved them getting chocolate icing on all the other donuts as well as the box. Oh, the box... yes, let's talk about the box... Hahaha, a dozen donuts smashed into a small cake box. But if they don't fit no worries, they'll just cut your donuts in half to wedge them in the sides. When I got to work I wasn't even mad, I couldn't stop laughing actually cause I thought I got punk'd... But I thought oh well, they probably taste great... Umm, no! As I swallowed a donut hole I notice it wasn't sweet. Did they forget the sugar? Donuts usually don't last that long in my office but out of a dozen there were 5 donuts left. The family that runs this shop is so sweet and courteous. Sometimes their son comes into the shop with them on the weekends. He is adorable. This used to be such a good donut shop many years ago. Since the old owners i have given this place numberous chances, hoping theyd get better. Today i got a cinnamon roll. Instead it was pure grease. You could squeeze a bite size piece and have greese run down your hand and drip. It tasted disgusting. The greese coats your mouth. After 2 bites the rest went in the trash. Plus the thing was $1.50. I have tried the granulated sugar coated donut and it tasted like bread. The jelly filled are over filled and while you would think thats good, it makes it overly sweet. Guess I'll have to stick with spudnuts.
