I found Moctezuma roofing from request for a quote on Yelp. They were first to reply and first to arrive. I spoke to three bidders and ultimately went with Moctezuma for three reasons: 1. Initial Site Survey - He is the owner of Moctezuma. He responded and quickly came out to do a survey of my roof. We got on the roof together (this was my choice) and we talked through the good, bad, and the ugly about my roof. Jacob was honest and straight-forward and gave me an honest assessment of the life of my roof - I had about two years on the roof. There was no sugar-coating nor was there any fear-mongering. 2. Arrrgh, the dreaded replacement of our old old roof. We knew we needed a brand new roof and was postponing the project due to COVID. However the winter storm of 2023 had us face the inevitable. Emmanuel helped us through the whole process, from getting an estimate, to establishing a date, to us choosing and committing to roofing material. I recently moved into a house shortly after the arc storms we had here in the Bay Area this past year. To say that the roof was in poor condition prior to the storms is an understatement. After the storms, it was in a terrible place, water would pool in small depressions on the roof, the drains were filled with gunk and blocked, and it would constantly creak at all hours of the day. With El Niño looming, I didn't want to get caught unawares. After getting in touch with Emmanual, he came out to survey my roof, after I scheduled the repair for the end of August, his crew showed up, stripped the old roof, and replaced it in just TWO days! In fact it turned out there was a surprise or two as it turned out some of the wood had rotted and was in danger of just falling apart. Despite, this, the crew managed to repair the damage quickly and got a gutter into place so that this type of damage will never happen again. Emmanuel was a delight to work with. He showed up early for our appointment. He explained the kind of materials that my roof needed (The house is from the 50s and does not use tiles), the various repairs they would do to some of the rotted wood, and what protections they were going to take to prevent water damage from happening in the future. My house also has an old 50s AM antenna, and after explaining I wanted to keep it for aesthetic reasons, his crew left it alone without any issues at all. Lo and behold, we had quite a bit of moisture overnight the day after his crew left, and spots on the roof that usually would be holding water were perfectly dry by the time the sun came out, and even better my roof has been silent. No more loud snapping or creaking throughout the day. To say I am satisfied with their work is an understatement.
