I was up in Eugene had to do some shopping. Needed to wait for alterations. The manager suggested I go across the street and try MOD pizza. I'm so happy she did. Last night was my first time at this MOD location. (I frequent the coburg location). What I liked better about this location is there seemed to be more employees on hand so the line went very fast. The employees also seem very happy and it's a good environment. What I don't like about this location opposed to the other is 1.parking and 2. I asked for them to cook my pizza extra extra long and they did not. My pizza was extremely doughy on one slice so I could not even eat it. Hope this doesn't happen in the future. Still giving 5 starts because I still love MOD and this seems like a good location besides a few things. read more

MOD pizza is cool. Its like a Subway for pizza. You run through a toppings bar and pick whatever you want on your pizza. 7.95 for an 11" unlimited toppings. It cooks up quick in a fire pizza oven and your ready to go. Staff is nice and restaurant decore is trendy and upbeat. I have to say that the pizza itself is fast food and flavor is so-so. I want to fall in love with MOD pizza, and I've been here 5 times in the last month so that says something. The pizza is really quite good, and my wife and I can get dinner to split for less than $10 which is absolutely stellar. The variety of toppings and ability to get whatever you want without changing the price is great. Especially if you're trying to please a bunch of nieces and nephews with differing taste. But 3 out of those five times have had service issues that have me on the brink of giving up. 1st - Our dough and sauce person sauced up our pizzas, threw down some cheese, then proceeded to set the pizzas aside and stare at us as a line formed. The next station was making a milk shake, so we were stalled at the meats. Rather than pick up the next station's prep task, the pizza creation came to a grinding halt. No one came to help, this person didn't ask for help from their crew. They just waited. Super awkward, but it's a new business and a very new location so I chalked this one up to them still getting their systems down. -0.5 stars 2nd - Folks here don't consistently spread out your toppings and I've had to request that they not pile them all in the center. Seriously, no one wants a Jenga tower made out of pepperoni and olives. Again, I can give this to new crew/new location. It's gotta be addressed by management, but ultimately not a deal breaker. -0.5 stars 3rd - This is where is got frustrating. Arrived to find it busier than I've seen. That's great, I love to see places making it. Waited in line for 10 minutes to order. Got to the front of the line, told we can't order because they have to make 6 pizzas from online orders. Taking online orders is fine, but I've managed restaurants and there is no circumstance where it is acceptable to tell the person who bothered to show up at your location that they won't be served when they get to the front of the line. Assign a person to online orders who isn't serving customers that are physically standing in front of you, set up a separate station for them, or even actively tell the line of folks you're backed up and it'll be 20 minutes before they can order. Do anything so that no one else has the experience I had. Because I turned around and walked out the door. The sign does say "Speed Style Pizza". - 2 stars. Like I said at the beginning, I want to love this place so bad. The toppings are delicious, the variety is excellent, the crust is crisp but chewy and delightful. But the service needs to be consistent, and you absolutely must have a system in place that ensures when a customer gets to the counter, they get to order. Fix the service issues and I'd gladly bump this to a 5 star experience, cause the product is pretty darn fantastic. read more

A shout out to the employees of MOD for being such class acts. A few weeks ago, my sleep deprived two year old lost her mind after aggressively trying to hug her sister in line at MOD. For those of you who are parents, you might get the insane, irrational meltdowns that happen sometimes. My husband took the distraught hugger outside, and I stayed in line assuming things would get better. At some point, my husband summoned me and said we needed to leave. The manager came outside, and asked if we wanted to place our order with him while outside with the kids. So kind, but I decided that I'd try again to order inside because I love choosing the toppings. They let me back in line, I ordered a bunch of food and a pitcher of beer (necessary at this point) and when I went to pay, the staff told me they were buying our dinner. I felt like some beleaguered mom getting a surprise on a TV show, and nearly cried at their kindness. But the pizza, you ask? I'm a big eater, and I get the personal size and load 'er up. Fun topping choices, like roasted corn and roasted broccoli, greens, sauces, meats, it's all good. I can get full on 2 slices, which is unusual for me and pizza. The pizza really does cook in minutes, yet they somehow manage to achieve the wood fired char and it stays crispy despite the massive weight of my 3 inch toppings. Mod Pizza! Where have you been all of my life? I had been wanting to try this establishment since they opened a location on Coburg but when I found out there was one in my neighborhood on E 29th I jumped in my car and headed out on a pizza adventure. When you arrive you have two options: choose one of their pizza combos or choose a size and make your own combination. You can get a small 6', Mod size 12' or a family size which is two pizzas stacked on top of each other. I really have no idea how the pizzas stacked on top of each other works but my partner and I ordered two Mod sizes of their staff favorite and the seasonal special. The staff were awesome throughout the whole ordering experience. They went above and beyond my expectations and our food was ready in no time. We had also ordered a Mod size caesar salad which was slightly over dressed but crunchy and delicious. The pizzas both had a balsamic glaze on them which gave it a subtle sweetness that I really enjoyed. The pizza was thin and after sharing the salad and half way through my pizza I was already full! I also had one of their fresh lemonades that was the perfect amount of sweetness and tartness. I can't forget to mention they have the BEST crushed ice for your drinks! Yum! I will definitely make this my new go to fast but tasty pizza stop. The parking lot is a bit small just a heads up. The restaurant itself is clean, modern and comfortable. read more

Glad to have a place close to home for vegan pizza and yummy salad. They have a huge selection of toppings, tons of veggies and veggie-friendly options as well. Pizzas come out fast and are crispy and yummy. I think the price is a bit on the high side, but since you can really pile on the toppings you can certainly get your money's worth if you try! Although pizza is not a staple of my diet, it makes up the bulk of my fiance's and he is so glad to have this as an option. I like that you can get a salad rather than pizza, although honestly the crust is nice and thin (not too thin, but just right) so you don't have to feel as bad about it. Overall, a wonderful addition to south Eugene, especially in this area where all of the big pizza places are the norm (we've got Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Papa John's all within a few blocks! The bathrooms are the only problem. I've gone here a bunch. The food and service are great. But I've brought friends here and they really don't like bathroom situation and I definitely agree. The problems are this: it's difficult and slightly embarrassing to get the bathroom code and it's difficult to keep your hands clean when done with the bathroom. I get that you don't want bums coming in and destroying the restrooms, but you need to figure out an easier and more discreet way to give out the bathroom code. This is how it goes: a customer walks up to where the oven station is, the worker is busy cooking and doing her job, if you don't shout out for attention, you usually wait about a minute. Then you have to proclaim that you need the bathroom code. It's not a huge deal, but a lot of people don't want to announce to half the restaurant that they need to go pee pee. Suggestion, put the code somewhere discreet but visible to regular customers or on the receipt. Okay hand sanitation issue: I know you want to save bucks on paper and save trees by not having paper towels in the bathroom, but there needs to be a way to open the bathroom without touching the handle. Many people don't wash their hands after touching their junk. Me, my friends, and thousands of others don't want to touch the crotch oils on the knob. So we use a paper towel or toilet paper to open the door. Yes you have TP, but the dispenser is so low to the ground, you have to squat on the floor to pull any out; and forget about not touching the sides of the the dispenser. Suggestion: add paper towels or at least raise the TP dispenser up 2 feet. There's a reasonable amount sacrifices that customers can deal with so a business doesn't have to spend tons of money on bathroom services, but this is a bit too much for a lot of people. read more

I love MOD! It's essentially the pizza version of Subway. You walk down the counter choosing your toppings and watching your pizza being made. You pay a flat price regardless of how many toppings you get. Great food and a good deal. read more

Great concept! They won't nickle and dime you for toppings. Just pick a size and put whatever you want on it. Yummy pizza. Very vegetarian friendly, and a couple of good local beers on tap. Try them on Tuesdays for a $2 beer. read more

This place is great for the do it your way style of pizza! The pizza is thin crust however they offer a deep dish option. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I ordered of the wall which was a pizza with pesto. It was fantastic and I had a few pieces leftover. They have a blackberry lemonade which is to die for. I wanted to bring home a batch or 3 home with me. They also have Mexican Coke so feel free to grab a bottle of the good stuff if soda/pop is your thing. read more

This was my 3rd time here and it will be my last. It is very apparent that customer satisfaction is not a priority. I'm not sure if he is the manager, but Brady was beyond rude. Before we even got to start our order we watched him speak so awful to an employee in front of all the customers. She was helping a customer when he started barking orders at her. She had to stop with the employee to do something else leaving us all just waiting. Not ok. She, by the way, was the only friendly employee there. He cashiered when we paid and acted so super sweet. So fake. We wanted a salad, but the girl that jumped in line and took over our toppings was pissed because she didn't know ahead of time. Never mind. I would rather not at this point. I've never liked the staff here, but enjoy the pizza. I'll try another location, but if not better I'll just take my business elsewhere. read more

This place is so delicious!! Their gluten free pizza is amazing and the dough actually tastes like real pizza and not cardboard. They also re-made our pizza because we were late picking up our order and they "wanted us to have the best possible pizza experience". Completely above and beyond customer service! We drank a delicious raspberry milkshake that was so good and tasted like it had real raspberry purée in it. Their salads are also awesome and super affordable. Other locations are super good about asking "have you been here before" which can seem repetitive, but probably saves someone an awkward moment or feeling silly when they don't get it! The place filled up fast right behind us, and did get a bit noisy, but not too bad. The staff used to be friendly. Now, far less so. I like the pizza a lot. In fact, a MOD Pizza with a lot of toppings became my favorite comfort food. But they complain about me getting as many toppings as I want. The employees have been snide and rude to me about it. I stopped going for a while but recently returned and got the same treatment. That's their thing, right? As many toppings as you want? I go to the MODs in Portland, order the same thing and get treated completely differently. I won't change my order to please the staff. Ok not sure how to rate this one I was definitely uninformed about how the business model is laid out at mod pizza . When my wife was super hungry at 10:45 I checked yelp to see what was open and mod pizza was open I called and asked if it was too late to order something to pick up Ryan who was very helpful said yes it's not too late to order a pizza so I said yeah I'd like a large pepperoni and pineapple and you said oh you mean mod pizza I said yeah I guess thinking it was at Starbucks when you say I'd like a large and they say you mean grande having no idea what this meant and not being told what the price was and I didn't really care than over the phone I figure I would square up once I got there apparently there is one main size pizza 11 inches basically a quesadilla sad to say there wasn't really enough time to order three other pizzas for the rest of my family so my wife got a pizza and I went home and made a quesadilla I think that idea is good for someone who might be anorexic or just a light eater it's pretty much like the Jamba Juice of the pizza world The crust is mildly reminiscent of a saltine cracker but I figure if you pile up enough customized ingredients and finish with their sauces they have to offer it might be kind of fun and good. I got to say this review does not reflect how I was treated by the employees which was good they were helpful I just feel I was rather uninformed on what I was actually getting which might be my fault because I'm not necessarily in tune with pop culture but I really just wanted a pepperoni and pineapple pizza that would feed three people that didn't happen so good job crew no complaints with how you did maybe in the future tell me the price over the phone and that there's only really a personal pizza on the menu. read more

I work nearby and my coworkers and I have gone twice so far and um, DELISH!! The price is great, food is amazing and fresh and unique... not just the same old pizza. I've had the pizza and the salad and both are equally awesome. Also, the service is spectacular... everyone is super friendly, answers your questions like they actually care. And then there's the Marion Blackberry Lemonade which I could dunk my head in. This place is a great place to go. We will definitely go back frequently! read more
