Huh, surprisingly not bad. Even... kinda good, one might say? I'm surprised purely because I've known of the MOD pizza chain for a while, but I always avoided it because I thought there's no way their pizza can be good. I just figured if I wanted fast pizza, I've already got the Dominos and Papa Johns of the world to pick from. I don't usually bother reviewing chains because I never feel like I have anything new to add. Buuut MOD surprised me enough to warrant a review! It's kinda like Chipotle in concept, but with pizza. The first time I stopped by, I was surprised they didn't charge by the # of toppings. Instead it's just priced by the size you want! Pile on the toppings yall. The employees were really helpful, especially to my group of friends who were all first-timers to MOD, not just to this location. Warning: if you're a pizza snob, you might be disappointed. I enjoy homemade pizza and will pick that over delivery any day, but I'm not a pizza snob, and I don't think most people are either, so chances are you'll be ok with MOD. When you order, they have a menu of pizza options you can pick from, or you can just build your own. A couple pizza building tips: if you get spinach or any topping you don't want burning, ask them to add an additional layer of cheese on top after you've picked out all your toppings. If you get the red sauce, have them add the dried herbs (oregano, basil leaves, etc) directly onto the sauce layer before any other toppings. Service is pretty quick. There can be a bit of a wait on busy nights, but nothing atrocious. Parking is super simple with ample spots nearby. All in all, I'm a fan! At least give it a shot - I'm pretty glad I did. I absolutely love this MOD's Pizza location! The workers here are absolute sweethearts and really try their best to accommodate you, no matter how busy they are. I'm a vegan, so finding pizza for me can be pretty tricky sometimes. I get the Mod with extra red sauce, garlic rub, EXTRA spinach, oregano, and olive oil on top. I like to eat outside, and I understand that workers don't really check on patrons that are outside unless you have a waiter. That's pretty much a given. However, Luis (I'm sorry if I spelled your name improperly!) came outside to check on us and ask us if we needed refills. I joked about needing a refill on pizza, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to get the mini pizza or the regular Mod size. He told me he has a free pizza because he works there, and he wasn't going to eat it. He wanted to give me a free pizza! The absolute sweetheart! I was taken aback, but I told him what I wanted and he went inside and got us our refills. He came back outside with a paper so he could write down everything so he doesn't get anything wrong. He smiled and went back inside. After a little bit, he came outside and served the pizza to me and said, "Here's your special pizza!" My friends and I went back inside and tried to tip him $10, but he denied the tip and told us to spend it on our Spring break and to come back another time! After taking it back home in a pizza box, I saw thar he wrote, "Have a great day!" on the paper underneath the pizza. What kind of precious human being...! Definitely coming back. I have eaten at this MOD almost daily while working on a construction project at the opposite end of the building. The manager is awesome and the staff is always happy to see me. Mod Pizza is a good go to when you don't want a huge pizza but need to fill that craving. The ingredients are always fresh and the staff is friendly. I love that you are able to choose from a variety of ingredients and can put as many as you want on your pizza. The Mod pizza is pretty big and is enough for two meals. I like to get the mini because it is the perfect amount of food. I change up the toppings pretty much every time I go. New favorite place to grab something quick and close to home! This build-your-own pizza joint has become a place I visit weekly. Let me start by mentioning how pleasant the staff is. Each time, they have gone out of their way to be exceptionally nice, even making small conversation as they make my pizza. This last time I went to Mods, I built my own "mini" sized pizza which is a 6- inch pizza-perfect for when you want something lighter but still filling and cheap (around $5 for this size and unlimited toppings). I chose pesto rub, garlic rub, red sauce, mozarella cheese, mild sausage, roasted red peppers, pineapple, jalapeno, and oregano and all of it together turned out to be amazing! The pizzas are thin and crunchy to perfection. I have gone when the restaurant was nearly empty, and I have gone when the restaurant was very crowded and each time, I have received exceptional and quick service. The pizza is usually ready after you place your order in about 5-10min. They also have the option of ordering online and picking it up, which I have also done and the service and pizza was still great! Last night the moon hit my eye like a big pizza pie and it was amore... for MOD Clear Lake that is! I was in the mood for pizza but had to think it through thoroughly as I have developed a food allergy to tomato sauce. I've driven by the new MOD a gazillion times and noticed it's always packed, so I finally succumbed to the masses and stopped in to pick up some pies for our weekly girl gab session. First off, they get a star alone for the good and attentive service from the moment you walk in. They greeted me with a smile and I noticed they did the same with everyone that walked in or left. For myself, I ordered the MOD and created my Frankenpie to my heart's content all for $7.87 with unlimited toppings. I loved that they offered pesto and olive oil as alternatives to the tomato sauce, and I chose to go with the latter with crushed garlic for an extra spark. I added grilled chicken, Canadian bacon, fresh basil, mushrooms, artichokes, Kalamata olives, and Ma's sweet peppers to my pie. All of the ingredients looked and tasted really fresh. The portion is pretty big... I had a slice and a half and saved the rest for tomorrow's dinner. One thing to note is that there are at least 8 choices for the meats and an endless array of veggies and other toppings for you to get really creative - your taste buds will appreciate it! They also have beer on tap and bottled in case you plan to dine in. I liked the "made on demand" concept and the fact that in 5-7 minutes I had a freshly made meal. I personally prefer the thicker crusts, but I understand that it would defeat their on demand-and -fast business model as it would take longer to bake. Wow! I stopped here randomly on the way home and was pleasantly surprised! Neat idea-it's like subway or chipotle but for pizzas. They make it in front of you and then bake it super quick. I love that this opened in the clear lake area and not another lame-o dominos. Also love that they don't charge for extra meat and cheese-the price on the menu is the price you pay! My kids complained that they were still hungry after lunch here. The crust is super thin the toppings are good quality and they don't charge for toppings,but are scattered thinly on the small tortilla sized pizza.
