Uhhhhhhh.... What. Just. Happened. This was the strangest interaction with several workers I've ever had. They all seem so.... Mad? Bored out of their minds? Pissed off? DID I JUST GET BULLIED by the workers at mod?? I've never seen so many eye rolls, glares and sighs in a single sitting. (To every single person that's coming in) I feel like I just walked into the twilight zone of anger and frustration. The swinging door had someone just staring out into the abyss of anger. I tried to grab a photo but they slithered back into the back room, and I'm assuming that's a deeper hole of depression than what I faced in the front of the store. I'm so confused on the vibe of the store. The way my pizza was slammed on the counter with such anger, made me cry with laughter when I left the store. How are there 8-10 workers this angry? I can't even begin to explain how weird this location was. You know the Australian restaurant that is famous for being rude? They could hire every single one of these employees and would be great there. However, not a fit for mod. Did an angry mob of Lake Oswego moms come through right before me and set the mood? This pizza was served and made with pure hate and not a single smile.

My favorite MOD location. Pizza Artisans are friendly and proficient. And the little message on my lid made me smile

I ordered from MOD to go and loved how I could pile on the toppings. My order was ready quick. I am more of a thin crust can but I did enjoy the pizza and would have it again.

I definitely have a love affair with this place. The food is good. The price is right and there are gluten free options for my gf friends. This came as a recommendation from a co-worker and he was not wrong. You can select the size of your pie straight away and go with one of their many recommendations or build your own. Since I have an allergy to anything tomato (how does that happen in America when everything has it). I usually elect to build my own. I got them to put many veggie toppings on and a pesto sauce which was delightful. Choice of beer, wine, or craft made teas and ades. I usually go for the teas but the wine and beer are reasonably priced as well. Only odd thing was a staffer tried to take the red pepper shaker away before I was done because she was, "looking for something to do". Ironically, as we walked out I looked back at the trash can in front of the establishment which was overflowing to the point people were balancing debris on the edge and it was falling to the ground. Now there's something to do. I will continue to go back but I'll keep my hand on the red pepper shaker.

There are so many of these fast food-style custom pizza places popping up in the metro area, sometimes it is hard to keep them straight. And if you have teenage boys in the house, these places are practically in the weekly rotation. In the past month, I've visited MOD locations in Happy Valley, Lake Oswego, Beaverton, and Camas. But really this review is about MOD vs. Pieology in nearby Tualatin [1]. Similarities: Both are national chains. Both have a list of popular combinations or you can customize your own pizza. Both are choose as many toppings as you want for the same price. Both send you through an assembly line similar to Subway as you create your pizza (sauce, meat, veggies, etc.). Price point is similar. Extra items (salads, sweets, and beverages) are minimal. Both interiors are modern and industrial. Both are packed with teenagers behind the counter and as customers. Both have a small selection of craft brews on tap. Differences: MOD has house made lemonade, ice tea, and MODshakes in addition to sodas (Coke products). You can order on-line at MOD, but this is not available at the Oregon locations of Pieology yet. At MOD, if you don't like it your custom pizza, you get a do-over free of charge (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mod-pizza-lake-oswego?select=fqTpqO0Mi0S6TASG4lHMeQ). I personally can't discern a big difference in the pizzas. My youngest prefers Pieology (for some undetermined reason), I prefer MOD, and my oldest likes pizza with a thicker crust, so he's happier ordering from a more traditional pizza place like Bellagios or Pizza Schmizza. Of the four locations I've recently visited, the Lake Oswego MOD location is especially nice because of the open air seating when they open one wall for a shared patio with WOW Burger! next door. There is plenty of counter seating by the windows if you're dining alone as well. We did order the Cinnamon Strips for dessert once and they weren't great. I would give them a pass. Overall, when we are looking for quick-and-easy personal pizzas, I try to direct the family towards MOD based on the berry lemonade and balsamic fig glaze finishing sauce, which makes MOD my pizza place of choice for this style of pizza. [1] It would include Pizzasmith in Bridgeport, but that restaurant already closed its doors.

I can't recommend MOD pizza strong enough. It has delicious food and friendly people. I especially enjoy this location. I love the way we can have whatever toppings on our pizzas that we want and the the people at MOD don't make you feel bad if you order extra of a particular topping! They're always very friendly here and I've become a regular. The toppings are always fresh and colorful. They cook the pizza perfectly in their large fire oven. I think the prices are pretty reasonable considering you can have as many toppings as you want. They even have a delicious gluten free crust if you have a wheat allergy. If pizza sounds too heavy you can always get a salad with your choice of toppings instead. Stop by and give them a try! :-)

When my partner pulled up into the 76 Gas Station, I was like "are we getting gas" and he's said,…read more"no." I said "what the heck are we doing here then?" And he said, "look, the pizza cart is in the corner." My silly self then doubted saying yes to my partner's suggestion of trying this place, and I huffily puffily said, "I'll stay in the car with baby." And my partner said, "no, please come outside, it's a beautiful day." FINE. I grumpily opened the car door while he got kiddo outta the car. I wanted to stay grumpy, but it smelled delicious right when I got out of the car. Okay, okay. This was a good sign. Partner went to order pizza then we went into the gas station and walked around and didn't find anything we wanted and/or didn't want to pay over $4 for a small bag of chips. Good lord. Also, the attendant said he couldn't check our 76 gas gift certificate unless we bought something (which I think is stupid and a lie). That's beside the point and I'll save my 1-star review for the gas station. Anyhow - it was a beautiful day to wait for good smelling pizza. We hung out in the trunk of our car, then chatted with Ryan (the owner) who is so kind and you can tell he's a good human!!! Our two pizzas were then ready and we raced home to try it while it was still piping hot and fresh! Boy oh boy, did our family enjoy the pizzas! Our son was ecstatic about the Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza, and my partner and I loved the pizzas!!!! I wasn't even that hungry but Leo and I almost ate the entire Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza. It was SO tasty! Ryan uses all super fresh ingredients for his pizza creations and you can really tell. A lot of times, when ordering pizzas of this style, the crust is too oven burnt and the pizza tastes okay or not that great, but he's a pizza genius and pours pride and care into his pizzas. You can really taste the care and quality!!! Our family can't wait to come back and get more pizzas! We are so glad he's so close to our house! What a win! Thanks, Ryan!

We had made the 25 minute drive from West Linn because we heard the pizza was that good and when I say it did not disappoint, that's an understatement. The crust was flavorful, had the perfect texture, wasn't too "doughy" and the char from the wood fired oven gave it a nice smokiness. The other ingredients were solid as well...the cheese was smooth, the sauce was perfectly balanced and the small pepperonis had just a little more spice to them (we got (1) pepperoni and (1) pepperoni and ham). I hate to be "that guy" but we used to live in Brooklyn, NY (we loved Totonno's and Grimaldi's) and Massachusetts (we loved Regina), and we've struggled to get GREAT pizza in the 6 years we've been out here...now we have a go-to for slammin pies. I feel bad that this post doesn't include photos, but one of the pizzas didn't make it home and the other was attacked before I could get a good pic. Their ranch: Before we left, Randall asked if we wanted peppers, parmesan or ranch, and I declined. He suggested I not pass on their house ranch that they make themselves and I obliged. I'm glad I did. My wife, who is super picky at times, was shocked at how good the ranch was. She said "damn...that's surprisingly good, and I don't even like dill in my ranch, but that's excellent." Basically half of the pepperoni pizza was bathed in ranch and we wished we would have gotten a couple more. Pro Tip: Each pizza feeds 1.5-2 people but if you're hungry, you could probably house a whole pie without regret.

We got a butter chicken and tandoori chicken split, a Mighty Munch Mountain curry pizza, and a pepperoni. The verdict? The crust is good, but not life changing. It is a bit thick but it is necessary because they load you with toppings. Flavorwise? All were delicious. Even my niece who is a very picky eater, ate a slice of the pepperoni that we got her and then devoured the rest. My favorite was probably the butter chicken with a light, creamy taste and plenty of chicken. Honestly, I'd do a family size half and half of your two favorites to get the best bang for your buck. Glad to have found this spot before the Superbowl.

Hapa Pizza: A Masterclass in Fusion and Flavor If you…read morehaven't been to Hapa Pizza in downtown Beaverton, you are missing out on what is arguably the most exciting culinary evolution in the Pacific Northwest. It is rare for a restaurant to live up to "New York Times Best in the US" hype, but Hapa doesn't just meet the bar--it sets a whole new one. The Crust: A Neapolitan Dream Everything starts with the dough. They've mastered a Neapolitan-style crust that achieves the impossible: a light, airy crumb with a soulful sourdough tang and that signature wood-fired "leopard spotting." It's chewy, charred, and provides the perfect structural integrity for their bold toppings. The "Mind-Trip" Flavors What truly makes Hapa a destination is how seamlessly owners Aaron and Natalie Truong blend traditional Asian dishes with the canvas of a pizza. * The Bánh Mì Pizza: This is a revelation. The lemongrass BBQ pork is sweet and smoky, perfectly countered by the crunch of pickled daikon and carrots and a drizzle of sriracha aioli. * The Phở Pizza: It sounds like a gimmick until you taste it. The brisket, Thai basil, and hoisin-sriracha swirl actually trick your brain into thinking you're eating a bowl of noodles, but with the satisfying crunch of a pizza. * Khao Soi & Thai Curry: For those who want a kick, these pizzas bring deep, aromatic spices and creative textures (like crispy wonton strips) that you simply won't find anywhere else. Beyond the Pie Do not sleep on the sides. The Tom Yum Caesar Salad is a tangy, umami-rich masterpiece that redefines what a salad can be. And if they have the Korean Burrata or their Asian-inspired Tiramisus (like Ube or Vietnamese Coffee) on the menu, order them immediately before they sell out. The Vibe Despite the national accolades, Hapa retains its heart. The space is clean and modern, and the service is consistently praised for being warm and efficient even when the line is out the door. Final Verdict: Hapa Pizza isn't just "good fusion"--it's a world-class example of how to respect traditional techniques while fearlessly innovating. It is a mandatory stop for any food lover in Oregon. Pro Tip: They are known to sell out, so arrive early or check their social media for daily updates. Your taste buds will thank you.
