Was in the mood for a really good salad. While cruising a delivery app, I found MOD pizza. I ordered the largest salad which they labeled as a salad for two. I really liked the unlimited toppings. I also appreciated the salad wasn't premade and packaged. The restaurant had my order ready on time, even with it being Super Bowl Sunday. In my opinion, the salad would only work for two people if you're ordering it as a part of a meal. If the salad is the meal, it's for one person, in my opinion. Also, the price difference between the three sizes of salad they sell is minimal, so you might as well get the largest anyhow. Helpful friendly staff and quickly made pizzas of your choosing. Toppings are plentiful in choice and free to add or adjust. They have great flavored iced teas and make a classic cream filled chocolate cupcake dessert. It's an ok enough place to sit and eat including covered outdoor seating. I see there are a lot of mixed reviews for this MOD site. All I can say is, when my daughter and I visited, it was great. Either they got their act together or the experience and food is hit or miss here. We had a great meal here and the employees were all friendly and the place was clean. There was a MOD Pizza near our house when we lived in the Seattle area for 25 years, and we all LOVED it so so much. I'm not even a "pizza person", but I loved the pizza here. They can customize it any way you like, there are no extra charges for all the many ingredients you can put on your pizza, and best of all, for me anyway, their pizzas and salads come in a cute, individual size which is PERFECT for one person. I've always LOVED this option. And the salads are fabulous, too, and also totally customizable. I just love that! Since moving to Canada in 2017, I've really missed my MOD. (Why oh why are there no MOD Pizza shops in Canada??? WHY??!). So when I recently visited my kid who lives in Portland, I requested we go to MOD for dinner one night. So on a dreary, rainy weeknight in early January, we drove here. And we were the only folks here the night we visited. We were greeted by the counter guys (who were all busy making pizzas, perhaps for pick-up orders), and we took our time reading the menu. (I noticed there were quite a few new pizzas and salads on the menu since I last visited a MOD, 6 years ago or so). I was relieved to see that my favorite Lucy Sunshine pizza was still there (yeah!), and their chopped salad. One of the counter guys told us it was his first day working there. He seemed apologetic, but he wasn't doing anything incorrectly or slowly. Seemed like a genuine nice guy. As were the other guys working. Anyhow, our meal was delicious, the pizza just how I remembered it, with the thin crust and the artichoke hearts and the garlic (SO good), and our salad was great, too. A pizza should be made with love and care. I think that MOD should do a better job of training the employees to evenly distribute toppings and adding the proper amount of sauce to a pizza to create the perfect pizza experience. Pizza is a very special delicacy and the perfect amount of toppings creates an amazing dining experience. The problem that I am having with MOD is that this experience isn't consistent and some of the employees are actually preparing the pizza's with bad attitudes which means there isn't love being put into the creation of said pizza. Today I took my family to this location and for the most part the experience was good outside of the young ladies attitude the lack of even distribution of toppings. I understand that they are trying to save money, but they must also understand that the customers experience should be one to remember. I really enjoy the selection of toppings and healthy options, but the consistency must be there from location to location. I have visited the airport location, 122nd location, as well as the downtown location as well. The experiences vary from place to place and overall I tend to be happy with the quality and portions. However, they must do a better job with attitude and distribution of toppings. Pizza is literally one of my favorite foods and truly enjoy amazing pizza. Stark Street, Flying Pie, and Roundtable all do great jobs of consistently making top notch pizza. read more

I don't know why I haven't stopped at one of these locations sooner. I mean for less then $9 we got to customize our own 11" pizza with whatever we wanted! They have every topping you can think of and even some you wouldn't, like the pumpkin based pie which was the special at the time I frequented. The interior is modern and clean. The employees are professional, polite, and informative on the process if you haven't been in before on how it works. They have both glass and pitcher options for beer. Deserts of cake or shakes are available. The make it your way and customization process is a unique idea and I will only be able to eat pizza from here from now on it blew all the previous pizza I've consumed out of the water. I come to this location often mostly often after lunch time, cause I know the rush hour for lunch time. Great service last time I came in and out as I go. This time I came little after 5:30pm on a weekday it was dead one customer in front of me, and his mom showed up when I was next to order, as I had to wait, about 15min standing in a no line. No one greeted me as a walked in, after 15min of waiting and no service, one employee lady was mixing up a salad probably an online order. Another guy at the oven waiting for the pizza to cook, while one is cleaning the lobby and one in the back room. Also just that one guy with a blue bandaid on his face making the pizza for the customer in front of me, yea I could say it's a very slow service for the "super fast mod pizza." If you don't want to get stuck in the lunch rush, show up before noon. I was able to order and get my pizza (and salad) within 15 minutes. What's so great about this place? All MOD pizza (sizes) are the same price and you can add whatever you want to it. For example, I tend to order the one of the vegetarian pizzas because I love the vegetables on them. I then ask them to put this meat and that meat on it. For no extra charge, you can add to your pizza even if it is meat! They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well. Employees, are overall friendly. Oh! BTW, when they call you to tell you that your pizza is ready, you can add extras to it. My recommendation: Pesto and light dollops of pizza sauce. read more

I've been getting disappointingly prepared salads for months. Looked up MOD and you can get as many toppings as you like for one price , just like the pizzas. Check this one out: Entree size pizza must weigh in at over 2.5 pounds! I got the following ingredients: Romaine , Spinach, Arugula , Caesar dressing, ranch dressing, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, salami, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, red onion, black olives, artichokes, roasted broccoli, roasted corn, chickpeas, diced cucumbers, zesty pickle chips, diced tomatoes, oregano salt and pepper and unfortunately they were out of croutons, and heavy on the cheese. I've been eating on this salad for 15 minutes straight, and I barely made a dent. Ordered online. Salad was ready and waiting at the pickup time! Clean doors and windows, clean prep area, gloves employees, and great service. Why have I spent over $15 at Bistro 23 for a Cesar salad with chicken, greens, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and about 8 thinly sliced pieces of chicken you'll ever see, and this place is within walking distance of my home. This salad will feed me all day, and it comes in under 1,230 calories! Not bad at all whatsoever. This is the move. Next time. Going with the mini sized salad. This location disappoints me every time I have to come here. Today we got four separate pizzas. Every single one of them was an absolute mess. They lazily piled on so much sauce that our small amount of toppings slipped right off before any of us could eat our pizzas. The crusts were also severely mushy and undercooked. I was hoping that this Mod Pizza would be as clean & tasty as the one in Clackamas. It was a bit shabby where the booths by the door were. All the staff were very friendly & courteous. They were trying very hard to do the orders. No problem with them. My order was simple pizza with added mushrooms & basil. But they were out of these items. My Greek salad was good. My pizza didn't have the best crust taste & the ranch dressing was dull. Nothing like the store in Clackamas. I'm throwing out the last 2 pieces I have left. Here's the next complaint- a young guy was being trained to load up the soft drink section & wipe the tables. He was wearing gloves & when he sneezed he wiped his nose twice & kept putting the pop in the case. He should have been told to do things better. It's not his fault what so ever! I ordered a pizza and a cheesy bread. I was so excited to try a different MOD location. So I get my order, and I open my boxes, and the cheesy bread looks absolutely repulsive. The cheese is sliding off, the dough looks discombobulated. VERY disappointed. So, I think, "My pizza can be no worse!" WRONG. I asked for extra sauce. There seemed to be less than the normal serving spoodle. The pizza was not cooked long enough on the bottom. There was no rosemary found on my pizza. I love rosemary. So the presentation, I decided to ignore it. No. The taste. The taste of this ludicrous pie was absolutely IGNOMINIOUS. Everything was terrible. I love the MOD pizza chain, but this location is the worst I've been to. Upon walking in, they never greet me. The staff never smile, Their attitudes are like they just don't wanna be there. And I understand ppl have days where they just don't want to be at work, but it's every time I come in. I won't be visiting this location anymore because on more than one occasion I've had to ask the staff to change their gloves. The presentation of the pizza toppings always look gross. They dont keep the area clean and the veggies are always mixed with another veggie or cheese. I've had to bus my own table a few times because they don't. I went in yesterday, same thing. Went to this place on my vacation and HOLY CRAP is this affordable. I got two pizzas for $21 and change. That's good even for where I'm from which is not a big, expensive city. Their regular size is about the size of a Domino's medium, maybe a little smaller. As my friend said this place is "the Subway of pizza", meaning that you go down the line and pick your sauce, cheese and toppings from their options. Really interesting concept and great execution.
