Walking inside, I was immediately greeted. The gentleman who waited on me was very friendly, polite and answered all my questions. I was hungry for a pizza and decided on Mod Pizza in a shopping center near me. Ordering is done at the counter and they custom make your pizza. Whatever and all of the ingredients you want for no additional charge. Mine had mushroom, pepperoni, sausage, pineapple and a little artichoke heart. A bit of extra cheese and DONE! The dining room is not fancy, but clean. They call your name when your pizza is done. Since I watched my pizza being made, everything was perfect. Cooked to perfection and I ate the whole thing! I was here 2 years ago, ordered a mini pizza and water. As I walked away I realized I was charged for a Mod. What a fiasco to try and get a refund. The manager gave me a card for a free pizza. No refund. I came back today got a mini salad, wow $11 for a real mini salad. Chopped Italian, the romaine was mostly the white ribs and there was a 2" by 2" end core in the mini salad! I asked for a water cup. Before I asked my total was 11.63. He hands me the cup as I slid my card. Total was 14.45. I look at the receipt and I was charged 3.19 for a drink. I asked if they charged for water? He apologized and asked with a fearful face if I wanted a refund or a drink. I remember the fiasco from 2 years ago. Took the not wanted soda. We actually love Mod Pizza but tonight we ordered pizzas to eat there and then two more to bring home. When we got home our chicken and veggies pizza did not have any chicken at all although the box had chicken written on it and we paid for it. I didn't want to drive back to the restaurant, due to it being late and I was tired so I called and there is no option to get anyone on the phone to talk to. :( I will try again tomorrow but at the least want credit for the chicken that they left off for our next order since we do plan to come again but want to get meat when we order it. read more

I feel bad leaving a negative review, but you guys should check everything is sanitary! I threw up an hour or so after eating at this location on June 25th and I never throw up. The pizza really didn't sit well after I ate it and I continued struggling to keep food down until the next day so it must've been norovirus or something like that. Someone else who was in my household that afternoon got the bug too so we know it was contagious. For what it's worth, my pizza was with the gluten free crust, and my friend who got pizza with me had a normal crust and didn't get sick. Hopefully this is helpful. read more

Congratulations to Sahuarita/Green Valley!! We have... yet another pizza place!! It's been stated a few times now; we have enough pizza joints here in this section of south Tucson... Okay, let's break down opening day, 6 July, 2018! This visit was just about three hours after the grand opening of noon, so that puts this visit at a shade past 3 p.m. In this review, we'll move quick with a couple notes for summary. 1) Today, per se, was the 'grand opening' and they had a full staff ready to go! No standard uniform per-se and if anything, all had quite the variation of colored shirts, however, all with the 'MOD' name and cute catch line(s) attached somewhere on the shirt. Baseball hats or bandannas are worn, which definitely breaks away from the McDonalds/Taco Bell uniform 'formula'. Couldn't tell who the Manager was, if one was on duty; I presumed so... but hid well amongst the worker-bees. (Mooohaaahaa!!!) (Insert wacky-evil-ridiculous undertone.) 2) Music was on, well lit, customers lined up. The menu 'wall' is a bit too far, by being 'closer' to the ordering line, vs what I think would be better placed, if it was closer to the door 'opening' so you can start making decisions - faster. You of course will benefit from having the menu up where you DO order, but for the lines that MOD usually has, it would really benefit if the paper menus or another wall unit was back near the entrance. Small potatoes, but you'll know what I mean when you see it. 3) The staff were very nice; expedient, but to be expected, lots of bumping to each other as they figure out their spaces and places. While the staff behind the counter was busy, several where taking breaks in the sitting area and swapping out with workers in like 10-15 minute blocks, for what I would assume so no one person gets completely beat down on this first day of expectations. Another staff member was attempting to refill the drink machines and take out the trash. All were definitely making it happen! 4) The pizza's. We ordered three; were charged for four. Didn't realize till we sat down though and had to go back and get credit for it. No worries though, they got it squared away quickly. This brings up a summary point later that is a flaw we found in their 'system'... However, they took less than 10 minutes from the first ordering spot - to receiving them. For that reason, it's a win! I also ordered the gluten free crust to test it out and it was ON POINT for flavor! Toppings galore and for that, another thumbs up. They all looked fresh and appetizing. Great menu of variables. The pies were delish and flavorful; win. One caveat: my 11" 'Jasper' had practically NO value of toppings. They were scant to say the least. Big con here... 5) Oddly, there is a little sentence next to the drink station on the wall above that states, " This is not a pizza place"...Interesting dichotomy if you ask me. What then in pray-tell WOULD you call this place?? Humor me. 6) Bathroom were not 'marked' as in, there were no signs indicating their location, but they are there. They were clean but surprised at having a automated hand dryer, but no automated soap or sink dispenser. Most joints in the last couple of years - to include Wal-Mart even does this! Not a huge problem, but with their ideology and marketing stance of being 'quick and efficient', just surprised this wasn't considered. No biggie... Summary: MOD Pizza is another pizza joint we probably don't really need in Sahuarita and Green Valley. But, what it does do is change the expectation! They are quick, polite and unlike Little Caesar's right across the street, you can professionally see all that happens in plain sight and watch your meal get created. This visual atmosphere allows the customer to be in on how your meal is being prepared and many people like that in today's restaurants. The product was great, tasty and worth returning for! The small points I made, were just that; small! Point number two. We noticed that when we went to pay for our pies, they simply 'asked us' what we ordered. However, this is flawed because we could've ordered more and only said we ordered 'X' number of pies. There was clearly NO tracking from the people we ordered from and the ones that 'asked' you what you ordered. This needs repairing or others just might take advantage of this at some point. They need to have some sort of accountability with the orders and should probably pay for that first, THEN go down the line and clarify what you want on your pizza. Clearly, this isn't the safest business concept especially since this place can get stupid busy. This place is off to a phenomenal start and think they'll be a great success to this new shopping center. KUDOS to all who hammered out this day; job well done! read more
