We were looking for a place to eat for an early dinner after a day at the pool. I wanted something that was fast but kinda fresh. So we hit up MOD and I ordered the Dillon James and enjoyed it. Surprisingly, this place is not busy at all so after your order is placed they call your name to pickup the food pretty quick. I'd recommend if you having a pizza craving.

    Pizza your way.

Crust me. I'm a pizza doctor! Well not technically but I use to work at a popular pizza chain in my youth. Why does that pertain? It doesn't! Anybody can tell you what a good pizza is. Even my bread-hating niece can tell you what a good 'za is. That being said, here at MOD Pizza, you can be the creator or whatever crazy pizza concoction you can think of. So if you hate it, it's your fault. Oh, they also have rabbit food here too.

I will admit, I like to do things myself. When I come to MOD, I know I'm not the only one who wants to switch positions with the person behind the counter putting together the pizza, but it's hard for me to resist!!! I'm picky so I know they are used to dealing with folks like me, but hey... I like my pizza a certain way!! For just about every item, I kept saying... "more please"... More sauce... more cheese... more sausage... more oregano, more.... you get the point. Granted, I know that they have to be conscious of what you're putting on an actual pizza. I know, it's not Burger Kings have it your way, but it's pretty close. The brick oven pizza is great but if you're not familiar it gets cold quick. This time around I went with the cauliflower crust and it's much bigger than the normal MOD size. Once the pizza came out of the even, I was ready to attack it!! But I had to wait as other orders were being prepared in the oven and others sat... That's the only thing I didn't like. My pizza got cold super quick... By the time I was halfway through my pizza, cold!!! Disappointed as we all put in a lot of work to get the right pizza setup for me. I wish they would add more chairs inside as, during this time of the year, the outdoor patio area is not ideal (unless they have a firepit). Another plus... I like the variety of lemonades available.

Three stars only because of the experience. Their pizzas are great, with lots of fresh veggies. We love creating our own as opposed to their menu options. The other thing we LOVE about Mod is their no-name cakes. They are ramped up Ding Dongs and just so yummy! Our visit this time had some concerns around the staff and overall cleanliness of the store. We were met by a young man with flat affect and we proceeded to tell him what we wanted on our pizzas, he never once smiled or responded to our our casual conversation starters. Neither did the other people...it was like they were just going through the motions. We also noticed several dirty tables and over flowing trash. Not sure where or who the manager was, but surprised that the store experience was this. We've ate at several Mod's and this was the first of this type experience.

    Caspian (6") w/ jalapeños & Customized (6") via delivery.

So, I opted for delivery to home after having such a fantastic lunch from the Mesa location. I'm a bit sorry I chose this location, for a second try. For the most part. I docked a star because I find it ridiculous they did NOT cut my "customized" pizza. Why did you opt to cut the Caspian, but not the second?? It was rather disappointing we had to stop the movie & cut the second pizza because someone paid to do so got lazy. Was the food good? Yes! Minus the fact the customized pizza looked like it was a total bother & everything was thrown carelessly on top (and not cut). I have a bone to pick with this location: you managed to add a customized ingredient to one standard pizza- and then entirely dropped the ball on the second, which was fully made to order- the ENTIRE "motto" behind this establishment! I'm less than impressed. Next time, I will opt to show up in person. Because what I ordered was not worth the inflated price I paid. I understand you can get away with charging $10 (after tax) for a personal pizza & claim it's a good deal because you can add anything on with no extra charge- but that went out the window when it's done like slop & not even cut! You can see the difference in my photos. Standard order is on the left and customized (ended up half-a**ed) is on the right. Also- I asked for no onion. The photos speak. I didn't get what I asked or paid for. The taste & quality is good- but I won't be opting for this location again. Go elsewhere, there are better chains than this location!

The crisp in every bite coupled with the train of flavors blew me away from the friendly staff to the fast and DELICIOUS, pie. I ordered a larger regular crust pepperoni with salt, pepper, and oregano. When I walked in it was inviting and it smelled beautiful. I've had it once more since trying it less than a month ago.

The service at the front counter was impeccable. The person who took our order made sure that everything was correct. The person who rung up our order took his time to make sure that we got exactly the right things, and even recommended one of their excellent deserts. The food itself was perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself was open concept, and allowed for big groups to easily sit down. 10/10 Dining Experience.

My pizza, less the abundance of toppings:( My bad.
    Elaine Y.

Fast chain pizza joint that competes well with the others. You order at counter and go through line selecting all your extra toppings, Chipotle-style. You can order from their classic artisan-style pizzas or to a more customized one. Either way, the biggest perk is that 'all your selected toppings are included' in their set price. Same goes for their salad. So load it up, I did not take advantage of this until I notice our group had some bountiful pizza toppings. Although I really enjoyed my classic pizza which was 1/2 'Mad Dog' (mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, beef) and half 'Jasper': (mozzarella, mushroom, spicy chicken), it felt underdressed in comparison :( Good reason to come back and dress up my pie:) and they serve wine and beer too!

The pizzas were always good, so we figured why not go eat there and try some other items. There were 12 of us, so we made sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Upon arriving, we had no issues. A couple of tables were ready and waiting for us. First impressions: The restaurant is big. There's a ton of space and seating. The vibes are nice. This location also has a big parking lot, so parking was not an issue at all. Once we were all seated, our waitress offered us drinks and gave us time to look through the menu. I must say, there's some pretty affordable happy hour items on there. However, I was really hungry and opted for a regular menu Toasted Da Vinci sandwich with a side of chips. No drink. The sandwich was delicious. I really liked it. The bread was toasted to perfection and it was quite flavorful. The chips were also excellent. They were perfectly crisp and seasoned. Probably some of the best I've had. The meal was a good portion and very filling (and I'm a big guy!). Overall, I had a good experience. I'd come here again for that sandwich.

The bartending really has taken a step backwards though. Instead of only one cheap Rye, now they have none. How do you make a Manhattan? Sazerac? I ordered an Old Fashioned and it came shaken with macerated luxardo and then strained. The pic below is a correctly made Manhattan from a couple years ago. The bartender gave us some great service and knows her stuff but the bar program doesn't get the attention it deserves. My wife says that it's a family pizzaria not a gastropub and to chill out. We ordered a couple of sodas and the same slices we ordered last time, pepperoni and vodka slices. The slices were delivered in no time! They were hot and crispy! I don't know what happened, but the quality just wasn't there. I could not taste the sauce on my pizza. It was non existent. It was like eating pizza bread with cheese and pepperoni. The Vodka pizza had no detectable sauce on it either. It also tasted just like cheese bread. I don't know if its because of different pizza makers or the new standard, but I was disappointed. I was very impressed last visit and even made a statement that the Vodka slice may be my new favorite. I was a little let down this time around!

You can also get a whole pie of your choice. They grate fresh parm on all the slices which I thought was a nice touch. The girl at the register seemed very knowledgeable about all the pizzas and gave us lots of details and recommendations which we appreciated. First we got the green, di Parma, and the Phoenix. The green has pistachios and fresh arugula on it, I thought the overall flavor was too sweet and the pistachios weren't crush enough. The Phoenix was good, very honey forward and overall the flavor didn't stick out to me. The di Parma was a cheese pizza with procuttio and ricotta, overall a little plain to me. I think they all would've tasted better hot, but I understand that's not super realistic for a slice shop. For our second order we got the vodka sauce slice, which was for sure my favorite. First of all it was piping hot, and that elevated the whole experience. I thought the sauce was so flavorful and savory, and the basil made a perfect bite. I would go back for a whole pie of this! I really liked the prices here, we got dinner for less than $25 for 2. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some other slices and get a pie of the vodka!

I got there 10 minutes before closing, pulled up as they were putting our pizza in the box, opened the box & of course had zero complaints! The Uncle Louie was a new choice for us, the pie was nice & thin the way that we like it... not all that heavy dough that makes you feel bloated after you eat one slice! The quality of products that Crust uses really makes a difference, this pizza is 20" & they put the big deli sliced pepperoni on the pizza plus they put sliced sausage not ground! Paired with their dipping sauce, they were impossible to resist! The Buffalo Wings were equally impressive. Extra crispy, just as I had asked, with that classic tangy, spicy kick that makes buffalo wings so addictive. They nailed the texture and flavor, making them one of the best wing options around.
