I very much enjoyed Spinelli's pizza. I was in town for four nights, and I ate their pizza three out of the four nights! They have a great bar and you can order a shot and a beer while you wait for your pizza. And the pizza slices are humongous. Plus, they're open until 3am! The food and service was 5 stars for sure. The service was good, we were greeted when we walked in. It didn't take that long to get our pizza. The pizza was one of the best margarita pizzas I've ever had. And the ranch is the best ranch ever. It's hard to find a ranch with dill in it in Arizona. It's definitely more of a Midwest thing. Stopped in for a quick bite at Spinelli's because it was close to my hotel. Wednesday night at 7 and the place was pretty empty, but the bartender was friendly and mentioned that the chicken bacon ranch was his favorite and had just come out of the oven so I ordered a slice. This slice was no joke. It was too big to fit in a single paper plate. It's a thin, NY style foldable slice and it was good. Not great, but pretty darn good. The Hangover was on TV and they were jamming out to some Nine Inch Nails. I'd go back just for the vibe. read more

Awesome pizza in a dive-y, edgy interior. The pizza is HUGE, and the crust is really thin. Definitely an eat with a fork/fold type pizza. There were some really creative ones like chicken and waffles pizza! Tried a Tuscany Love Slice ($9, SO big), and an 18" build your own with a bunch of toppings including pineapple and sausage. I loved the tomato sauce, it has a hint of sweetness. Crust is light and airy. $54 (without tax) for the Pizza, Slice, and a beer. It's on the pricier side but with the portions and ingredient quality it makes sense. Vibes inside are super cool, lots of wall art, blaring electronic music and the staff is super nice. Of all the things I wanted to do when we visited Arizona, Spinelli's was on the top of my list. It did not disappoint. Food was unique, flavorful & excellent. Atmosphere was so much fun, doesn't matter if you're a kid, or adult. Lots of room, tons of art to admire. Service was top notch, fast & friendly. We ordered 3 pizzas, it was hard to choose a favorite, as they were all delicious. Mac & Cheese with Jalapeño took my number 1 vote. My kids tied for favorites on the chicken & waffle pizza & the bbq chicken. My husband's favorite item was the Philly cheesesteak fries! My only complaint isn't really a complaint at all, just wish there was somewhere similar where I live, cause we're 10 hours away! read more

What a disappointment- we stopped in there last night 1/4 before the Coyotes game. The bartender was only one working up front seemed annoyed with everything. The menu is a bit confusing on what pizzas are offered and whether you can order a slice or required to purchase a full pie I decided on a simple slice with pepperoni. I got a large slice that was obviously reheated with 25% crust and a few small round pepperonis that looked like hormel packaged. Went here on the Tempe Festival of the Arts day. Crowded on occasion, sometimes not so much. I drank a bit; then the kids (30's range) and grandkids came in for pizza/drinks. Noting, my review may be unfair in that it was a one-off re: the given day and inconsistent volume(s) of customers. Very good pizza, toppings could have been a bit thicker, but definitely very good quality, thin crust pizza. Top notch ingredients. Staff were a bit on the busy side, but were actually fairly attentive and polite. Prices were a tad on the higher side, but noting quality was very good... Also, we had the pizza and a couple "slices". The pizza's were rated at 18-inch, but they were bigger. A "slice" kept me happy; and I'm not exactly a 98-pound gymnast re: appetite. Ok so was going to Spinellis Pizza right around the corner it was suppose to open at 10:30. One of the employees was putting out tables said they would open at 11 am. Nothing on Coupon says it's M-F only. But I'm craving a slice I go ahead pay $4 for a slice & added a drink that was almost $7. The pizza was good one of the dudes who seems to be in charge was friendly told me about their wings. All said & done I gave 4 stars probably would've given more had the coupon been accurate. The 2 star is only because it's a nostalgia spot. Otherwise lately it's a one star. Came in and purchased a $35 mushroom and green pepper 18". I've been coming here for years and yes I know it's all about the slices but I thought I'd splurge a bit. I was terribly wrong. I paid over $40 including tip for this pizza. Whatever pricing on the full pizza sucks. Get the slices. While waiting for my "custom 18" I sat at the bar and thought to myself. This place seems the same? Slow down on your stretching dough process I came in one day and I got two slices my pepperoni was sliced well good. However when the lady brought my sausage slice I realized she had noted earlier that she said she already had one stretched out so when I got it I couldn't even with a fork due to the fact that she had over stretched this a bit too much to be a proper slice to be able to fold. The cook texture was paper thin I did not like it I threw it away. Please watch your stretching or people will head over to mellow mushroom and Gus's more often read more

I lived in NYC for 3 years and this pizza was entirely comparable. We had a loaded potato slice, a buffalo chicken slice, and a Tuscany slice - Jay did a great job making the pizza!! We had service from Victor, Bryan, Taylor + Juan, they all made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. The Italian shaved ice was delicious - we had horchata w/ fireball and Swedish fish with Malibu, both were so good, but have to say the Swedish fish + malibu is life changing. Really fun pizza spot in Tempe on Mill Ave. Be prepared for the crazy huge pizza slices here cause it probably about a 1/4th of the size of a normal pizza. The good thing is it's a thin sliced of pizza so it will fill you up but not completely stuff you where you want to take a nap to recover. When going into the restaurant, it reminds me of one of my favorite pizza spots in the Bay area with kind of a rock and roll theme. Brings me back to living in northern California! Any how, I ordered the Mac and cheese pizza with a drink special. Man when I got the slice, I swear I ordered a whole pizza cause it was about the size of a small pizza! Plenty of food to eat! One of my big things about pizza is how the crust has that nice airy crispy texture and I feel they did a pretty good job with delivering that texture. With the Mac and cheese pizza taste, I feel there could of been a little more cheesy taste to really drive that side of the pizza but adding a little heat with the green chilies was a nice added kick to it. Back story: We stumbled upon this place in April 2018. We were out drinking and needed something to soak it up. Little did we know God was in the kitchen that night cuz this food was HEAVENLY!!! Had never been to this pizzeria. It was 1am, we were on mill, and pizza sounded really good. We walked in and quickly one of the servers told us to pick a table. We decided to sit towards the back by the elevator. The server was very friendly from the start even though it was so chaotic inside. He gave us menus and our waters. We all decided we wanted just a slice of pepperoni pizza and an order of buffalo wings. Didn't take too long for our food to come out. Our wings came out first and they were surprisingly really good. They were crispy and the perfect kick. The pizza slices came out right after and omggg they are unbelievably huge!!!! They are thin though so I was able to finish my slice. At 420 Mill Ave lies the unofficial pizza joint of young adults who pay $30 for a gram. It is overpriced for what you get, and everything about the way this place runs is wrong. The crust is incredibly bland, as though it were made with no salt and the most refined flour possible. The pizza itself was passable, but the size of the slices need to stop getting hyped. Yes, the pies themselves are 18" but you would think by the density of them this was meant to be much smaller and simply had the dough rolled out at thinly as possible.
