    **THE MALNATI CHICAGO CLASSIC™
    Ken R.

Met some work colleagues here. Two were there for lunch, while the other just to hang out. Everyone was welcomed the same. I arrived a lot earlier than the rest for a late lunch. I was kind of forgotten for a bit, but otherwise had a great experience. The one thing I fully forgot about is the amount of time it takes to get one of their signature deep dish pies. I waited until everyone else ordered. Then, we all had to wait 30 minutes. This is not a dig at the restaurant. It is a standard thing for Lou's. I only wish I had ordered earlier while waiting. Once it arrived, it was awesome.

The lady hooked it up with Parmesan cheese, plus the gerdaninar is fantastic, if you know , you know . Couldn't spell it right but sound it out & yeah. Love this place!

Stopped here for an early lunch as I was down from Payson. My server was Laura F. She was excellent and explained any questions I had about the menu. We were discussing the gluten free options and she pointed out they make a sausage crust pizza, it's like WHAT?? I have to try that I added mushrooms and jalapeño lol it was good! I also had the small Malnati salad with house made Malnati's sweet vinaigrette. I really enjoyed that. I would like to return here at some point when we are in the area

We came for happy hour and so glad we did. We sat in the bar at a table/booth. We ordered the meatballs, bruschetta, pepperoni pizza thin crust, fried mozzarella cubes all $5 ea. We expected smaller portions since everything was close to $11 ea on the menu. But you get full size portions for $5. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. We have already planned a group happy hour next week. Service was ok and our food seemed to take quite a while. Best happy hour ive been to for a while.

From Chicago, first time at Lou's in Phoenix area. Here are some thoughts: -Legit Chicago style pizza! The buttercrust is sooo good. Lots of cheese. Sauce is perfect. -They have the best house salad, ranch dressing is outstanding! -Place was really busy after Cubs Spring Training game, service was good, though under staffed. -Lots of inside seating. Highly, highly recommended!

Worst Lou MALNATIS experience we ever had. We were there when they opened for lunch. There were literally 3 couples in the whole place and service was horrible. Laura was our server ...or at least she was supposed to be serving us. Our drinks went dry 1/2 way through the meal and she was nowhere. We finished eating and waited a long while for her to notice and bring the bill. Then she noticed our empty cups ... we ask for the drink to go but she said they don't do that. Our food was ok . Not hot or cold. My slice had no tomato sauce at all. Salad was great.

Was great pizza, been to the original in Chicago not quite as good of course being a franchise location nor as deep of a dish as those were but none the less it's a great pie! Service was excellent as well! No complaints at all .. just noting not quite the same as OG location..

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was pretty empty. No issues with the seating since we sat at the bar. I was craving a pepperoni and anchovy pizza. They did not disappoint! It had the right amount of anchovy and the anchovy was not overly salty. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes.

Checked out the $5 happy hour, and it is my new favorite happy hour! We went a bit earlier not knowing if it would be busy at this location, and there was only 1 other couple there in the entire restaurant in around 4:15 pm on a Tuesday (so very quiet) but I could see it getting loud and busy as dinner came around. The fried ravioli was good, but the mini mozzarella bites were SO GOOD! Great cheese pull on them, and even better dipped in the marinara. The drinks were $5 as well, and they weren't basic drinks either. I got the twisted lemonade and the white sangria and both were sweet and perfect for a 105 degree day. I know they're known for their deep dish pizzas, but in the personal size, it was just a little too much crust, and did not hold up very well as left overs. But overall, a great deal for $5 for each item! As it was just us and another party in the restaurant, the service was very quick, but I can't speak to a typical experience during dinner time.

Salad and pizza lunch was great. Restaurant and restrooms were clean as usual as well. Service was nearly non-existent though today.

I have to say, the first time we had Lou Malnati's, I was not impressed. It was from the takeout only location in Gilbert. I felt was expensive and didn't seem to taste very good after cooking it at home. HOWEVER, we visited this location, at Tempe Marketplace, because it was our son's choice for dinner, and I'm glad he picked it. What a different experience! The service was great and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was good and there's even a full bar. Parking is adequate at this location, too. We would definitely go back!

I had heard so much about Lou Malnati's and couldn't wait to try it. The restaurant I itself has a nice, contemporary casual atmosphere with a separate bar area. There is plenty of parking. We ordered the Caesar salad, which was so good. It wasn't a traditional Caesar salad, as it had tomatoes. But it was still delicious. We also ordered a pizza with pepperoni.I have to say I was not a fan of the pizza. To me, the crust was more biscuit-y than bread-y, if that makes sense. It was dry and crumbley, which I'm sure many, many like. It just wasn't for me. I would go back just for the salad, and skip the pizza.

A couple of tables were ready and waiting for us. First impressions: The restaurant is big. There's a ton of space and seating. The vibes are nice. This location also has a big parking lot, so parking was not an issue at all. Once we were all seated, our waitress offered us drinks and gave us time to look through the menu. I must say, there's some pretty affordable happy hour items on there. However, I was really hungry and opted for a regular menu Toasted Da Vinci sandwich with a side of chips. No drink. The sandwich was delicious. I really liked it. The bread was toasted to perfection and it was quite flavorful. The chips were also excellent. They were perfectly crisp and seasoned. Probably some of the best I've had. The meal was a good portion and very filling (and I'm a big guy!). Overall, I had a good experience. I'd come here again for that sandwich.

I ordered an Old Fashioned and it came shaken with macerated luxardo and then strained. The pic below is a correctly made Manhattan from a couple years ago. The bartender gave us some great service and knows her stuff but the bar program doesn't get the attention it deserves. My wife says that it's a family pizzaria not a gastropub and to chill out. You can also get a whole pie of your choice. They grate fresh parm on all the slices which I thought was a nice touch. The girl at the register seemed very knowledgeable about all the pizzas and gave us lots of details and recommendations which we appreciated. First we got the green, di Parma, and the Phoenix. The green has pistachios and fresh arugula on it, I thought the overall flavor was too sweet and the pistachios weren't crush enough. The Phoenix was good, very honey forward and overall the flavor didn't stick out to me. The di Parma was a cheese pizza with procuttio and ricotta, overall a little plain to me. I think they all would've tasted better hot, but I understand that's not super realistic for a slice shop. For our second order we got the vodka sauce slice, which was for sure my favorite. First of all it was piping hot, and that elevated the whole experience. I thought the sauce was so flavorful and savory, and the basil made a perfect bite. I would go back for a whole pie of this! I really liked the prices here, we got dinner for less than $25 for 2. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some other slices and get a pie of the vodka!
