    Rice pudding with cinnamon
    Kelli G.

Today I went to Moda cafe and wow I was impressed. Upon walking in the interior ambiance esthetics were soo beautiful!!! The pastrys were all doo beautiful with such a pretty presentation I wanted to order everything. The beautiful lady behind the counter ( I didn't get her name) she was soo helpful and kind. I ended up ordering the rice putting and the young lady added cinnamon on top and it was soo delicious I could not stop eating it reminded me of my childhood as my mom would always make rice pudding. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk and and extra shot of expresso I know it sounds soo basic but man the code was so good one of the best I've had in a long time.. I also tried the turkey sand which and lentil soup all were tasty. Forgot to mention the young man who made my coffee he was very pleasant his self ! Over all customer service was amazing and the food.

Turkish breakfast Platter served with Bread- 2 person

It was a great experience. We ordered their Turkish breakfast for 2 which was more than enough. Nice ambiance, helpful staff, and definitely delicious food. While it was far from my place, I will definitely get back.

A beautiful new addition to the Richmond food scene, Moda Cafe & Bakery (@modacafetx) blends modern café aesthetics with a Turkish-inspired menu that delivers on both flavor and presentation. From the moment you walk in, the space stands out -- bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed with a mix of contemporary lighting, patterned flooring, and a sleek dessert display that immediately catches your eye. It has a lively yet relaxed vibe, making it a great spot for both casual meals and coffee dates. Turkey Sandwich - Fresh, simple, and well-balanced with crisp veggies and quality ingredients on a perfectly seeded bread. Chicken Sandwich - Packed with flavor, juicy grilled chicken paired with fresh herbs and a nice kick of seasoning. Lentil Soup - Warm, comforting, and full of depth. The seasoning was on point, with a rich, slightly tangy finish that hits just right. Manti - A standout. These Turkish dumplings were soft, flavorful, and topped with a creamy yogurt sauce and spices that brought everything together beautifully. Pesto Spinach Ravioli - Easily one of the highlights of the meal. Rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful -- the sauce was smooth and indulgent without being too heavy. Fruit Tart - Fresh, light, and perfectly sweet with vibrant fruit on top of a smooth custard base. Chocolate Strawberry Cake - Decadent and eye-catching, with layers of chocolate, cream, and strawberries that made for a perfect ending. Everything we tried was on point -- from the quality of the ingredients to the presentation and overall flavor. The menu offers a great mix of light café bites and more filling dishes, and the desserts alone are worth the visit. Moda Cafe & Bakery is definitely a spot I'd come back to -- whether it's for a full meal or just coffee and dessert.

    Yummy half eaten Oreo Strawberry

Absolutely delicious!! We loved everything we had & the quality was top tier. Turkish Coffee (perfect!), Cold Mezze(omg the eggplant!), Kofte Sandwich (the bread was SO light & the meat had so much flavor), Kibbeh (best we've ever had), Oreo Strawberry cream roll and The Chocolate Croissant (if you see this in the case, grab one right away, they were gone fast). Ordering/menu was a little tricky bc you have to wait until you scan the QR code & app at your individual table & does not have a physical menu. Also, if you order all at once it comes out all at once. It would be super easy for individuals to order & pay separately though. It was busy & had a wait, but we went at a peak weekend time & it wasn't a long wait. Great atmosphere, great service, super clean & can't wait to go back!

First time here - ordered two different omelets, pancakes, waffles and multiple plates. As well the internet viral Mango and Peach desert. I have to say the omelets were awesome. The desert however - that was a giant ball of BUTTER! It was terrible. I have no idea why or how people find this stuff good. It was so bad! I have to say I won't be back for those for sure. At least the tres leches was good.

The space has decent seating and even a co-op working space if you're looking for somewhere to work. Otherwise there's a good amount of space to hang out. The menu itself has a good variety of options. I do like trying out their seasonal stuff and this was pretty good. I got the tiramisu coffee which comes with a whole lady finger as a topping and is quite aesthetically pleasing. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy, and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be. Overall I quite enjoyed it!

It was my first visit--I ordered an almond milk cappuccino, an iced banana bread latte, and a chocolate croissant (note: the full kitchen opens an hour after the shop). Both drinks were fantastic--well balanced, and the banana bread latte really tasted like its namesake without being overly sweet. The croissant was average, though I appreciated the smaller size compared to the oversized ones you usually see. The barista was knowledgeable and genuinely engaged with customers, which made the experience stand out. One downside: the Wi-Fi was slow, even when it wasn't busy, so I ended up using my phone hotspot. I'd come back to try the matcha and explore more of the food menu.

Napkins and drink sticks are self serve. I had to ask for a knife since my friend and I were sharing our sandwiches. Maybe put more utensils at the self serve table? The place was clean and there's an outdoor area too. The lady was nice and helpful. The way to the bathroom was iffy. The light in the small hallway was out and there's three doors. Left was the actual bathroom, front is a closet (which I didn't know and opened it bc it said "vacant" above the door knob), right is kitchen. Maybe reword them a bit better? I went in the front one bc I thought there was two bathrooms and the front one was slightly open... There's only one bathroom fyi. Now on to the food. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered something small. The honey chicken bite was amazing. It was a toasted bread with crispy and juicy meaty chicken, with a slight hint of honey butter on the inside. The chai was very creamy but I would prefer stronger tea flavors. The patty meal was so good and dense. Also, they were super fast on bringing out our food. It's weird that we were the only ones there because their food was amazing. This place is also halal and there's free parking in the front.

When I pulled up I could see the employees from outside the window. One was just standing near the kitchen, the other was wiping the counter and then proceeded to sweep. I was waiting for closer to the time my order was supposed to be ready which was a few more mins. After a while I decided to head in and see if it was ready since no one seemed to be working on anything and it was empty. The employee put the broom down asked if I was ready to order and then proceeded to the printer once I told him. He immediately grabbed a mixer cup so I asked if he was planning on washing his hands first since he just finished sweeping. He said oh yes ma'am and proceeded. Idk why this is something that we need to remind ppl in the food industry but I am certainly glad I was paying attention. While the milkshake tasted okay idk if I'd return.

Very elaborate Daely like and you can't help but be in Tran as you are surrounded with wonderful desserts which I will now go back for. You order with the cashier who is more than equipped to explain what the offerings are and then is kind enough to bring them out to you after you have ordered. A truly lovely experience. I had a salad which normally I would not have selected because there was a strawberry vinaigrette, which is not really my style however, it had goat cheese and I thought perhaps the offset of the flavors would not leave me with simply a sweet taste in my mouth. Suff that I was extraordinarily surprised at how well balanced the flavor in the vinaigrette was and how absolutely perfectly the goat cheese was I'm assuming flash fried. This is not an experience to be missed

The service was ok. Everyone was nice, but it felt like the front of house didn't really know what they were selling. They couldn't answer very many questions and they were just kind of quiet, unwelcoming, and awkward. Also, I had to get up more than a few times to get things or ask for water or napkins or silverware or my coffee order. Overall felt very awkward and uncomfortable. Coffee was not great by the way. I wish I would have skipped it. I'd love to be able to support it. But based on my experience, I won't be back.
