Bebe burned my scalp during a roots color touch up treatment on March 19, 2019. My scalp felt like it was on fire and I remember telling her to rinse it off now! She did and then styled my shoulder length hair (at which she is skilled). My hair has been falling out since then and it is about half the volume it once was. My scalp is dry when it used to be oily. It is continuing to shed and I have already found a wig for that inevitable day when I will need to use it. I am using Rogaine for women in hopes that my hair will return. She never apologized for hurting me and when I came back to tell her that my scalp was so burned that my hair was falling out, she walked quickly away from me. I used to be a client here, but I felt really unappreciated. No doubt they keep up with the trends and do good work. But they try to push a lot of services on you, even when you decline. I feel like it was a used car sales lot. They also have moved from a real salon to a guest house in the owner's home. But their prices are still really hiked up, actually inflated. The last straw was when I was getting a haircut and the owner asked me if I wanted a manicure while I was waiting for my color to be done. I said no thank you. And she said, "don't tell me I didn't ask you" in a very rude and mean way. Who treats their customers like that? After that, I got tired of having services pushed on me. So, they lost a client of many years. Why should I go to a place where they don't appreciate the patronage? And now I still get these coupons and emails. Too late. Should have done that when I was a customer. I now gladly take my patronage somewhere else where it is appreciated. read more

Okay wow! She's seriously awesome. The last time I was here was back in 2011 and she did my hair for prom. She did an awesome job them and an awesome job now! My hair is naturally curly and so is my daughters. I love that she cut my hair wet, straightened it, and then cut it again. She is a perfectionist and she made sure it was what I wanted. She cut off enough to give me the amount of layers I wanted without making it look too thin or "sickly" as she liked to call it haha. She's funny and sweet! She was great with my daughter and she fixed the botched haircut I had given her a few months ago lol. The best part, she cut and styled my hair, and my daughters hair in less than an hour and a half. I couldn't believe it. She's a pro. I was heading into my appointment as her last client was heading out and the clients hair looked amazing too! I love that she was on time and I didn't have to wait for my appointment. Previously located in a shopping center next to Cosentino's on Silver Creek Valley Road -- the old location is now under new ownership and renamed something else. I have been going to Bebe on and off for years -- she's been the only hairstylist that I have gone back to since my last hairstylist packed up and left without a trace. The only reason for the "off" times is when I needed a haircut badly but was not in the Bay Area. Now that I have relocated back to San Jose, I called Bebe for a trim. I showed up at their old location, and the new people there were nice enough to give me Moda's new location and Bebe's cell phone number. Turns out they moved to a residential neighborhood less than a mile away back in June 2010. The new location is smaller, but in a good, cozy way. Bebe is still terrific, and I highly recommend her. I love this salon! I live in Hollister but do not like any of the nearby nail salons since they never come out the way I want, so I decided to try this one out after hearing about it from a friend. It is a bit of a drive from where I am but it is so worth it! My nails came out GREAT and apart from that the lady who did them (I did not get her name) was so gentle and never cut me once. The place is very clean and and relaxing and apart from that the staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is a full salon with nail and hair services and although I have only gotten my nails done here, I will definitely come back to get my hair done. I have thick hair and am very hesitant about which places to go since I had a very bad experience years ago, but Bebe knows what she is doing and I can't wait! read more

You get what you pay for? Ummm....no. I got a pedicure here that cost $40 and it was horrible. The process was alright in terms of the foot soak and massage. However, for the pedicure itself the lady decided to give my french pedi a strange translucent red colored top coat that she told me would look more natural. No, bitch, it did not look more natural. It looked like my toes were bruised/had been in cold for too long. On top of that, it chipped less than a day later. read more

Bebe is a amazing! She is the only stylist I trust to tame my super thick, coarse, curly hair! (To give you a little bit of background: My mother is Native American and my father is Mexican) I have been to other stylist, but no one knew how to work with my hair. Some didn't even want to try because my hair intimidated them! From the age of three to thirty-two, I always had to keep my hair long. The longer my hair was, the more it weighed the curl down. My hair is so thick, so curly, and so puffy that it rivals Tina Turner's 1980's hair! Just picture a curly lion's mane. That's my hair! Let's not even talk about what the wind, rain, and humidity does to my curly hair!!! About 10 years ago, I walked into Moda Salon and met Bebe for the first time. I really didn't want to go, but my husband, at the time, kept telling me that Bebe wanted to work with my hair! She used to cut his hair. He told me that she said she knew how to handle curly thick hair. I thought, "Yeah, right! I've heard that before." My son was born around this time. I felt so bad that he was continuously getting his hands and fingers caught in my hair. It also seemed like my hair gravitated towards his beautiful little face. In order to get my husband off my back and free my son from my crazy hair, I went. I had no idea what to expect or what I even wanted to do with my hair. Bebe was warm, friendly, and inviting. I was a client of this business for about ten years and when they moved from a shop in a strip mall to a guest house in the owner's backyard, I followed. It seems that after they stopped having to pay for a lease they began to view the work as more of a hobby and their customer service went downhill. Really nice salon very relaxing atmosphere. I called on my way home from work trying to get an appt for highlights and haircut not thinking it would be possible but Bebe came to the rescue. Bebe did a very good job on the highlights and gave me her honest opinion that my hair would look better if I would do a full head of highlights the next time stating that there is too many different colors. Bebe is a pro! I have been going to Moda Salon for 15 plus years and Bebe is the best. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. Bebe is caring and listens to your concerns. She is detail oriented, and takes real care of all her clients. I have coarse, frizzy hair and Bebe was willing to work with me to see what would work. We first tried a Brazilian Blowout, but it didn't last very long, so Bebe suggested the chemical method. She started conservatively to see how my hair would take and it worked! I never thought I would have flowing, shiny, silky hair! Each time we tried a little different approach, leaving the chemicals in longer, varying the process here and there to get different results. Bebe is willing to work with you. The straightening process with color and cut takes 5 to 6 hours, so I'm there all day and I always enjoy my relaxing beauty day at Moda Salon. Bebe can do anything!
