I came to this salon based on a friend's recommendation and because I've been here before, it's been a couple of years. I decided to return because it's much closer than driving an extra 30 minutes to Fremont, where I usually get my nails done. The salon itself is clean, but my experience was a little disappointing. When I arrived for my appointment, the check-in process felt awkward because no one really greeted me, it felt like hard stares just because I walked in. Anyways, I had specifically called ahead to book a Gel-X removal and builder gel service, and I made it clear over the phone that I wanted a nail tech who was experienced with builder gel. But it was kind of weird when I came in & checked in, the nail tech proceeded to ask me who I wanted my nails to be done by...but I had to tell her, "oh I requested for a removal & builder gel" Unfortunately, I don't believe the nail tech assigned to me knew how to properly perform a builder gel service. During the application process, she wiped down my nails after she buffed it out and applied a base coat. She then applied two very thick coats of builder gel and didn't flash cure each nail on the first layer... she applied the first thick layer then cured it under the light... The product flooded into the sidewalls, and when applying the second layer, no effort was made to smooth out bubbles or properly refine the shape. The final result is uneven, bumpy, and poorly structured around the sides. I'm not a nail technician, but I've had builder gel done many times by multiple nail techs, so I know what the process generally looks like and what results to expect. What upsets me most isn't even the quality of the nails, it's the fact that I specifically requested someone experienced with builder gel and was assured the service could be done. If the salon had simply been honest and told me they didn't have anyone available who knew how to do builder gel, I would have been completely fine with that and gone elsewhere. Instead, I paid $65 for a service that wasn't performed correctly and now have to walk around for the next few weeks with uneven nails. They're noticeably bumpy, and the sidewalls aren't even. I overheard my nail tech trying to explain builder gel application to another technician during my appointment. From what I could hear and see, the technique being discussed didn't seem correct, which only reinforced my concern that the service was being performed by someone without proper experience or knowledge how to do builder gel. I don't doubt that this salon does good work overall. I've come here in the past for acrylics and gel polish, and I've had friends come here for acrylic sets that always turn out beautiful. That's actually why I felt comfortable booking here again. However, when it comes to builder gel, it would be a hard pass from me. I came into work today and showed my coworker my nails, and the first thing they said was "EW, why is it so uneven and bumpy?" 5/21/26 - Today I decided to do a walk in mani and pedi to treat myself. I loved the way my burgundy cat eye nails turned out and although my toe nails turned out cute with the white gel, this is the second time I got nicked while doing my toe nails here. The first time I experienced this was years ago and I felt bad so I didn't say anything. This time it did hurt a little so I told the person doing my toes that it kinda hurt after I saw two of my toe nails had cuts as she was prepping them. I think she maybe was either putting too much pressure or cutting too close to my cuticles. Anyway I don't like complaining at nail salons as I know how hard they work, but this time I felt I should say something. After I said it was hurting a bit and she apologized, she did put less pressure on my right foot toes after, but I was worried the other toes would bruise or something if not cleaned properly. She did end up putting some alcohol or acetone on my cuts after I inquired if there's something (like a Band-Aid) we can put on the cuts after. I am not sure if she heard my question about that as I might have not asked clear enough. At this point I didn't want to say anything else as I don't want to seem like I'm complaining or something. When it came time to paint my toes it looked good, but I was still worried about the cuts. I let her finish my toes without saying anything else. I always tip my nail techs even if I didn't have a fully good experience. First time at Polished and I can't wait to already come back! I had an appointment for a full set of acrylic nails and a gel pedicure and was taken care of promptly and with care. I love that they start on your nails as you get your pedicure so it saves time! The nail techs are amazing and ensure you like everything that's being done to your liking! Even for something as simple as my almond French tips, Kim really put in care into the technique. I went with something simple with my pedi and can't wait to come back to experiment more with their DND sheer colors! Still great! I walked in on a Friday and was able to get seated in 5 minutes. I opted for the classic pedicure ($35) which is a very reasonable price. I did request the tech not cut my cuticles (just want to avoid any health issues, I'm a special case sometimes) and she skipped that. I like the classic pedicure because they get rid of the calluses you may have and comes with a leg massage with a sugar scrub. I mainly get a pedicure to remove the calluses but I still opt for nail polish as a little color is nice. read more

When it comes to a nail or beauty salon, good customer service is just as important as the quality of the work. Unfortunately, this place completely missed the mark. I "can't entirely blame them," considering half the staff seemed to be sitting around on their phones because there weren't many customers. Clearly, customer service wasn't keeping them too busy. The nail technician who worked on me made the entire experience uncomfortable. She kept telling me to "hold my hand normally" and acted as if I was doing something wrong. I finally told her, "This is how my hand naturally rests." The way she spoke to me made it feel like everything was somehow my fault. The entire appointment was awkward and unpleasant. To make matters worse, she actually yelled at one of her coworkers when they tried to ask her a question. Why would you do that in front of a customer? It was unprofessional and made the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. Ironically, the technician working next to her seemed to have great customer service. She was friendly, professional, and pleasant to watch interact with customers. I honestly wish I had chosen her instead. The quality of the nails is only part of the experience. It was my first time at this salon, and will be my last. My experience was very disappointing from start to finish. I had a woman and male working on my nails. I had to go home and cut my own nails and file it how I liked them after spending $80 for a mani + pedi. Gel manicure still had the chip on the side when other nail salons would glue it, buff it out , before they put on the gel polish for me. Regular pedicure was poorly done. The technician didn't know how to use a pusher so it looks uneven when the polish was applied. Chau did my manicure and she really took her time and did a great job! Jackie was very kind also helpful in helping my mom and I find shades that we wanted. I've gotten my nails done here before and they came out amazing, so I came back for a fill and a pedicure. The pedicure was great, but the person doing my fill was rushing. I showed her my inspo picture, and she told me she could only do the pearl French tip and that next time I should book an appointment for a design. I said that was totally fine (my friend got the exact same pearl French tip here last time and it looked perfect, so I thought it would still turn out nice.) Instead, she started doing a glitter French tip and asked if it was okay. I asked if she had a different color, and she said no and that the milky white wouldn't show up. I agreed, thinking the pearl swirl design would still look like the inspo. Then she did a gold design on my ring finger, but she was clearly rushing because her next client had already arrived. I still paid and left. After thinking about it, I went back in politely and asked if someone could fix them. I wasn't angry, I even offered to come another day. The lady I talked to was very sweet about it and asked what day worked best, Wednesday or Thursday. I picked Thursday because of my classes. Later, all my classes moved online, so I was able to leave for Thanksgiving break early. Since I wouldn't be in town Thursday, I came in Wednesday instead and explained the situation to a different lady (who had actually done my friend's nails before). She said she already had appointments, which I understood, so I asked if another tech could fix them even just a simple white French tip. She told me no and that I'd have to wait until tomorrow, even though they had just taken two walk-ins right before I walked in. I asked if I could come back later the same day, and she still said no. Since I wasn't going to be in town the next day, we were stuck, so I just left. I wasn't rude or demanding , I'm a college student, I save up to get my nails done, and I really just wanted them fixed. I've been going to Polished salon for 4 years now. Kim has been go to, yet she's always fully booked so definitely make an appointment as early as possible. She takes her time to do her work but keep up with the speed, most importantly she checks the nails and makes sure they look good. She doesn't talk much to her clients and co workers which personally I enjoy some quiet time just to relax. Michelle is also a very good tech and experienced, she's my second go to if Kim is not available. It's been a while since I've gotten my nails done here - I came back recently for a full set because I had no doubt that they would do a great job as they usually do! Unfortunately, I wasn't extremely pleased with my set as it didn't come out as expected. The technician was really nice and sweet - she did let me know it was going to look slightly different (in which I was okay with, but I didn't realize how big of a difference it would be!) it was still cute, so I just moved on. I will say - many of my nails are starting to lift already though and it's only been 2 days! The value for the price is excellent! When it comes to manicures, the results seem to depend on the nail technician. Sometimes my requests (like a round shape) haven't been met perfectly. However, my most recent visit was great! I was able to walk in on a Friday morning without an appointment and was seated immediately. My technician was very attentive to detail, and my chrome gel manicure turned out beautifully. There was a small issue with some polish smudging on the sides, but she did her best to clean it up. At $45 for a gel manicure, the price is hard to beat in this area. If you're looking for a gel pedicure, I definitely recommend Polished Nail Salon! I rarely go out to get my nails done but when I do it's because I've worked really hard and want to treat myself to a pleasant experience. My experience at Polished was not that. Generally, the workers appear friendly and polite, however good customer service comes down to how a business handles complaints and satisfying their customers. This was clearly not a priority for them when the color that was painted on my toes looked nothing like the color I had picked out. Even the lady that worked on me acknowledged that I wanted an off-white color and that this polish looked nothing like the one I chose, in fact she pointed it out before I did. So I asked her if I wanted a color that matched the one I like, what would she recommend? It wasn't the color not matching that bothered me, I understand that. However her response to me asking for her recommendation was what made this experience so disappointing. She told me, "Don't ask me to recommend you a color, just pick what you want and I'll do it for you. You chose this one, the numbers match so I did it and now you want to change it?" I had to hold back my tears because of how disrespected I felt. Another worker chimed in trying to explain that the nail samples are already white so thats why the sample looks more opaque than it actually is. Isn't that something you should inform customers beforehand? We choose the color based on what the sample visually looks like and everyone including the lady doing my nails admitted that it looks completely different from what I want and she even mentioned to her coworker that I wouldn't tip because it's not what I want, but proceeded with it anyways. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Your business is about making people feel good about the way they look based on their preferences, yet when I politely pointed out the color that I prefer, I was made to feel like I was at fault. It's ridiculous that I paid $45 + a service charge no one informed me of, for a polish that matches the color of my natural toes when it was clearly communicated and understood that I had wanted an off-white polish. Every single worker that was aware of the situation refused to take any accountability or provide an alternative solution. At the end of the day I walked out of there unhappy and they were well aware and allowed it to happen anyways, despite how respectful and polite I had been about the whole experience. I still thanked them for the service several times and paid for the service in full, but I will not be coming back here again and will ensure that people are informed of how this business handles ignorant mistakes that could have been easily resolved. p.s this is not my first bad experience with them, I had also come here years back when I was in high school and they cut my fingers up like crazy and took no accountability then either. my friend also shared that her acrylics would pop off like pressons and she was charged an additional fee for them to fix their own poor quality work. Was quoted on the phone for haircut and color for $110. When I came to the salon she bumped it to $150 dating there's a miscommunication when I clearly said it's for the full hair. I wanted to lighten my hair but the color she recommended made my color darker Was not happy about the outcome. She said she made hair shinier but of course after hair color application, you have to put conditioner that makes it shiny. This place is good for manicure and pedicure only. I honestly should have reviewed them sooner & stopped going. My first few manicures were fine, not horrible but not great. The shaping was poor, and they were very thick, they didn't cut or clean my cuticles and always left my hands messy. Anything I requested was not really followed, but I ended up being OK with the outcome so I just dealt with it. I'm a busy mom who doesn't have time to go back and forth every nail appt. However, as you'll see in my photos, they drilled my actual nail far too deep which has caused the "ring of fire". This has caused a lot of pain & weakness in my nails that I'm now trying to recover and fix on my own. The photos don't really do it justice. It's much more red and deep into my nails in person. I just wanted a good salon but seems I still haven't found it . Due to this issue, I can't have nails put on again until this is healed. This is incredibly frustrating and sad. read more

I waited for the lady to come out and after a few minutes of waiting she's starts my nails and as she's shaping the nail she is having issues moving my hand around in a comfortable position. She isn't talking to me at all but is speaking in her language, none of my business... until, the lady sitting next to us that was speaking to her in there language looks at her client while laughing and the client is kinda giggling like "what's funny" and the lady says oh we were just saying how hard it is to move around clients arms when there fatter it's not easy to get in a comfortable position and it's hard to move there hands when there fat. I've always loved how carefully they do my nails and generally think that they do an awesome job for a basic manicure or pedicure. However, I feel like there's a ton of variance for designs based on whoever is doing your nails! I asked for a floral design and it just didn't measure up to the reference photo I brought for my manicure. On the flip side, the ones on my pedicure looked awesome! Came here for the first time recently after a TikToker recommended it and drove 30 min since I heard it was more affordable Pulled a pretty design from their Instagram featuring pressed flowers however the nail tech skipped putting on the white layer and did it on clear acrylic which I really didn't like. The glue also looked messy and obvious on the clear design (see pics). I ended up coming back a few days later and they fixed it by adding a white translucent color on top. Doesn't look perfect like I had hoped but a lot better. I really appreciate their willingness to fix it! It is cash only and far from me so not sure if I'll come back but would suggest having very clear communication about what you want if you do pick a design and going for a more simple design...
