Miss Coco's Alterations - Dress alterations

I reached out via Yelp for availability and received a quick response. Headed over the same day, tried on the dress so she could mark where it needed to get shortened. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The dress was done in 2 days! It was clean and although I was the only customer at the time its spacious inside. I recommend checking this place out for alterations. The only con is that it's street parking and people speed around that area making it a bit challenging to get in and out of your vehicle.

I had read the reviews before going to her, so I was aware of Coco delivering a day late on alterations. I went in on June 18th to get my dress altered, and Coco told me to come in on July 2nd to pick up my dress. On July 2nd, I actually called her beforehand to confirm that my dress would be ready. She asked me for my dress color and then said to come by any time before 5pm. My dress was not ready. I drove over, and Coco told me that she was still working on my dress. She also mentioned that the person who usually steams all the finished pieces had already left for the day, so she needed an additional day. I was fine with her needing extra time, but I wish she had said that over the phone before I made the drive. I thought that was inconsiderate, especially since I had already been proactive about calling beforehand to confirm that the dress could be picked up. Nonetheless, the alterations turned out nicely. The hem of the dress worked beautifully with the heels I chose, and the tightened shoulder seams made the dress fit much nicer. I felt so confident wearing this dress at my friend's wedding. The hem and shoulder seam adjustments totaled $80. I don't have a frame of reference for the average cost of alterations for formal attire, so I can't tell if it was reasonable. I would definitely recommend getting your clothes in earlier rather than later to accommodate for any potential delays.

I had a one-of-a-kind jersey that I wanted turned into a dress because it was huge. I showed the man a video of exactly what I wanted him to do with this jersey and how to turn it into a dress. All he had to do was cut the sleeves off so up the side and then reattach the sleeve. When I came in to pick it up, the sleeves were not cut, they're two different sizes, the neckline wasn't cut to size and I looked like the background dancers in the goofy movie with the broad shoulders. There's so much bunching in the top since I have smaller breast and I pointed that out on Monday and he just kept repeating "I cut where I pin" anyone can do that. So since he was only going to cut what he pins, which was not our initial discussion, I took the time to explain. Show him the video again. I made it a point to make sure that he was going to be able to do this the way that I wanted before dropping it off because I would've spent more time looking for places that were capable of following instructions. Thankfully, I recorded our conversation and reported it to the Better Business Bureau. They just kept repeating the same sentence over and over again to the point where I started yelling over them and they started calling me crazy because I didn't want them to "fix anything" and I wanted a refund. Still have a destroyed unwearable jersey and no refund.

Nino Tailoring & Alterations - Quilty was amazing clothes fit perfectly !

    Nino Tailoring & Alterations

I truly cannot say enough about my experience with Tutu and Ninos Tailoring. I honestly almost…read morecried at my final fitting because I was so overwhelmed with gratitude and relief. Three weeks before my wedding, the tailor I had trusted completely backed out after keeping my dress for weeks. She told me my gown was too complicated, would take over 8 weeks to alter, and would cost more than $1,000 because of the intricate beading and construction. She said it would practically have to be reconstructed. I panicked. I spent an entire day driving around Orange County visiting several highly-rated alteration shops, and every single one told me some version of the same thing: it was too difficult, the beading would have to be compromised, the train might need to change, or it would cost an outrageous amount. By the time I walked into Ninos, I was emotionally exhausted and expecting another "no." The shop itself is very unassuming, tucked away in an older office building. I'll admit I was skeptical. After visiting large, well-known shops with multiple seamstresses, I didn't think this little tailor shop would be the one to save my wedding dress. I have never been happier to be wrong. From the moment I met Tutu and her husband, they made me feel welcome. They are one of the sweetest couples I've ever met. Tutu immediately noticed how stressed I was. She closed the blinds for privacy, turned the AC up because I was sweating from anxiety, and simply let me breathe. Then she confidently looked at my dress and said she could do it. Not only could she do it--she could do ALL of it. She took my waist in 4 inches, altered my bust so it fit perfectly, hemmed SEVEN layers of dress, added a bustle, resized my detachable sleeves, added buttons to hold them in place, and worked around intricate beading that every other shop acted like was impossible. Her price? $600. After being quoted over $1,000 and told it couldn't realistically be done, I honestly wanted to hug her. I'll admit, I was still nervous. Every time I repeated what the other shops had warned me about, Tutu would simply smile, wave her hand, and say, "It's okay. I got it." She never dismissed my fears--only the negativity. Her confidence was incredibly comforting. Then she somehow completed everything in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS. I dropped my dress off on a Friday. She wanted me back by Tuesday. I ended up going Thursday, less than a week later, and my dress already fit like an absolute glove. I only requested one tiny adjustment in the bust, and a few days later it was completely finished. When I picked it up, I cried. My bust had originally been several sizes too large, and I was convinced there was no way to make it look natural without reconstructing the dress. Tutu worked literal magic. There was no gaping, no awkward pulling, and no visible evidence of the alterations. It looked like the dress had been custom made for me. She also preserved the beautiful train that everyone else wanted to compromise. She even gave me FOUR different alteration options, carefully explained the pros and cons of each, and helped me choose what would look best. She genuinely cared about doing the job the right way--not the easiest way. On my wedding day I received so many compliments on how perfectly my dress fit. Before I left, she also took the time to show me exactly how to fasten the bustle, put on my sleeves correctly, and care for the dress so nothing would get damaged. That level of care meant so much. I almost didn't come here because I saw one negative bridal review. I obviously can't speak to someone else's experience, but mine could not have been more different. I brought in a $4,000 wedding gown that multiple professionals considered nearly impossible, and Tutu handled it with incredible skill, kindness, patience, and professionalism. Every time I visited, the shop was busy. I saw sheriff uniforms, men's clothing, everyday alterations, and multiple wedding dresses waiting to be worked on. It's obvious people trust her. I'm writing this review because, when I was in complete wedding panic, I desperately wished another bride had shared a story like mine. If you're reading this while stressed, overwhelmed, or wondering if your dress can be saved, please go see Tutu. When I dropped my dress off, I told my family, "This is either going to be the biggest diamond in the rough or I just paid to have my wedding dress destroyed." I'm so thankful to say it was absolutely the diamond in the rough. Thank you, Tutu. You didn't just alter my dress--you genuinely made my wedding day possible. Your kindness calmed me during one of the most stressful moments of wedding planning, and your talent exceeded every expectation I had. I will recommend Ninos to every bride, friend, and family member I know.

Golden Stitch - Quilt square at our baby shower before Nicole did the industrial press and added initials

    Golden Stitch

This is a long overdue review! I first reached out to The Golden Stitch on Yelp in October 2025. I…read morewas starting to plan my baby shower and had a crazy idea. I wanted guests to design individual quilt squares at the shower and have them sewn together afterwards. The idea originally came up online and suggested having people use fabric markers or puffy paint. Since I have a cricut, I immediately thought the idea would work well with HTV decals. However, I quickly realized cutting and weeding enough decals was going to be a nightmare, and they were unlikely to hold up well over time. This was when I turned to Yelp. I started searching for anywhere that did custom designs on clothing, thinking this would be the best lead. The Golden Stitch came up, and I sent the same message I was sending a bunch of other businesses. Very quickly, I got a response from Nicole. At that point, I wasn't sure we would be using her services. She was still incredibly helpful in giving advice on other items involved in the project, specifically things to look for when choosing fabric. Much to my surprise, she let me know she had done HTV decals for onesies for her friend's baby shower! I ended up going down in person to see samples of the onesies and discuss more details about how to make this idea come to life. She was incredibly knowledgable and very transparent about the pitfalls of some things I suggested and pricing of what I was looking for. By the time I left, I knew what to buy for fabric and what kind of art could and couldn't be printed at the price I could afford. Unfortunately, it did take me a while to find some art packages on Etsy to purchase and I was slow to come back and send her what I wanted. Nicole was incredibly understanding and still did her best to accommodate me and make sure I had the decals in time for the baby shower. She even went through and sized each piece of artwork to fit well on the square size we were using. Despite the time crunch I created, she got the sheets of HTV decals to me before the baby shower. My mother in law, my husband and I spent time sitting together and cutting them apart. Nicole even explained to me how to use my cricut heat press to secure the decals at the shower. After the shower, she was able to put them through her industrial press to help ensure they last along time. When I came back to ask her to press the squares, we discussed how to identify who did what square. This was something I hadn't considered when people were designing their squares. At this point, I been messaging and working with Nicole for several months and I now had a newborn at home. She was super helpful in suggesting how to add initials and/or names to the squares. I was overwhelmed and not giving much direction. Nicole was, again, so quick to get them pressed and add names/initials. What really made it special was the time she and her fiancé took to place the names and initials creatively. She also helped us design the center square with our son's full name, date of birth, and birth stats. My mom has been sewing the squares and the quilt is now almost completed. This keepsake would have been just a sad-could-have-been memory without Nicole. Now our son will have a custom quilt from everyone who came to celebrate him at the baby shower. I'm so grateful for Nicole's wonderful services, but also her compassion and patience. This project is so special to our little family and wouldn't have been possible without her.
