What has happened at this place? Nevada Nails & Spa, up until today, used to be my go to Salon. Called yesterday to make an appointment with Tony for today or Thursday. Lady on the phone said just come in at 9:00 am on Wednesday. So I showed up on time, an older female did my pedicure (which was fine), she doesn't do fills, so I waited for a different tech to do the fill. About 10:15 or 10:30, Tony arrived to work. He didn't acknowledge me which makes me think he didn't know I was his patron. The other male tech had already started on my hands and I didn't want to be rude, so I just thought it would be OK this time and next time I'll ask to speak with Tony personally to set my appointment. The kicker is, after having been a regular customer to the shop for at least 8 months, the male tech decided to charge me $85.00. That's 10.00 more than I've previously been charged. I always tip at least 15.00 and sometimes 20.00. That's an adequate tip. My advice would be to schedule with a tech you know and ask the price for the services you want prior to going. All the techs shouldn't be punished for the two shady characters behavior, but it's left a bad vibe for me and I'm done with the place, valuable lesson learned. ​ read more

1/5 -- A Pedicure I'm Still Paying For... With Pain If you're looking for a relaxing pedicure, Nevada Nails managed to turn mine into a lesson on why you should apparently supervise every single cut. Before the tech started, I VERY specifically told her to cut my big toenails straight across and NOT down the sides because I'm prone to ingrown toenails. I couldn't have made the instructions any clearer. She did exactly what I told her NOT to do. She cut down the sides of BOTH big toenails. I didn't realize how badly until a day or two later when both toes started hurting. Now I'm dealing with painful ingrown toenails on BOTH feet. Seriously, what is the point of asking a customer what they want if you're just going to completely ignore them? This wasn't some complicated nail-art request. It was literally: "Please don't cut down the sides." Somehow even that was too much to ask. Without question, this was the WORST pedicure I have ever had. I paid money to leave in worse condition than when I walked in. That's actually impressive, just not in the way a business should be proud of. Nevada Nails won't have to worry about seeing me again. I'll happily take my money somewhere that considers listening to the customer part of the service. Absolutely will NOT be back. One star only because Google doesn't offer zero. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. From the moment I walked in, the staff was unfriendly and unwelcoming. I waited for 30 minutes with no communication or acknowledgment, and the service I eventually received was unacceptable. I came in for a simple gel removal and regular polish, but was told they would not perform the gel removal alone because it was "too cheap." This response was not only unprofessional, but made it clear that the business is more concerned with maximizing profit than providing basic customer service or caring for the health of their clients' nails. It's extremely disheartening to see a business operate with such disregard for their customers. I sincerely hope they reevaluate their approach and begin to treat clients with the respect and courtesy they deserve not just as a source of revenue. I made a same day appointment on a Sunday , like I usually do for 2 pedicures for my husband and myself @ 3:30 PM. It was my husband's birthday...I'm not sure if the employees are discriminatory towards African Americans but when a loud white woman who stated she had a 3:30 appointment walked in, they immediately accommodated this woman and my husband had to watch me get a pedicure while he idly waited with his feet in cold water. When I was almost done, my husband decided he was ready to leave. He just wanted them to finish my pedicure so we could continue his day. My husband was asking the lady who was doing my pedicure what was the point of making an appointment? She said I don't know I don't make the appointments meanwhile speaking their language...probably talking crap..her body language was saying ok you don't want a pedicure...fine. I don't want to touch your feet...just rude with her glasses about to slide off her face and giving him the side eye. We were regulars...we would go there every 2 weeks or monthly depending on our busy schedules. Don't come here. Let me start by saying that I have been going here for years and truly liked my one and only nail person, Ten, who was the only reason why I came here. I am talking in the past tense because today, I have officially fired this place and will never go back there. Now I understand why this place has two stars on Yelp. If I could give no stars, I would. If it wasn't for Ten, I can not say anything good about this place. I've always known this place not be up to par but like I said, I only dealt with my nail person so I had no issues. However, I've always had reservations about this place as I observed it whenever I would get my nails done. First issue for today, I had an appointment which started 1.5 hours late. This isn't the first time my appointments are late. Which makes me wonder why it's even worth making an appointment. Not one person apologized or acknowledged that they were late. In fact, they seemed upset because I had shown up and they were too busy. This is when they start talking Vietnamese making you wonder if they're talking about you. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I ignore it and pretend they aren't talking about anyone. Now here's the real issue...the owner, Hung Nguyen, is rude, unprofessional, and has no people skills. For me, a place that doesn't have good business etiquette should not be in business and certainly does not deserve my or anyone else's business. I was about to have my nails done with the owner because Ten was off on vacation. I told him I wanted a French manicure and he told me it would be $55 which was ok with me but I decided to question why as the cost menu stated $40 (hence, false advertisement). He didn't/couldn't answer my question and told me that he would not do it for $40 and walked away from me to help another customer who had just came through the door. At first I thought he was just going to talk to the other customer but then I noticed that he was setting up to do a pedicure on him. When I questioned him if he was going to do my nails he said no, he refuses to do service for $40. I told him that we were having a discussion about prices and that I was still going to do my nails for $55 and that he was rude to just walk away and not even tell me he was not going to do my nails. He then got upset again and walked to the back of their business to hide, leaving the man at the pedicure station without saying anything to him either. I would have left if I could but I was with another person who was in the middle of a pedicure and had to wait for them. While waiting for them, Hung never came back out. About 40 minutes later the man at the pedicure station walked out because the owner never came back to him. That man was now upset and said he can't believe they just left him there and left. This is poor business practice. Hung left his staff to pick up his mess so he could go have a tantrum. The staff said, "He always does this and gets mad for no reason. Then we have to deal with fixing it." Which proves he doesn't respect his staff either. Other customers in there at the time were in disbelief and stated that is why they do not go to Hung to do their nails. Horrible role model for owning a business. Not sure if he was having a bad day but nonetheless, that's unacceptable as a business owner. He just wasted 3 hours of my valuable time. If you can treat your customers and long time customers like this and not care, it's time to close your doors. My advice for you Hung: take a business class, a crucial conversations class, focus on cleaning your unsanitary salon, learn to smile and greet people, be humble and practice integrity. Treat people like you'd like to be treated. And to make this evitable in the future, fix your prices on your menu and you won't get questioned! I have been coming to Nevada Nails for about 4 months now, and each time I am never disappointed! One thing I like is how organized the technicians are and attentive they are. The owner has the best sense of humor and we always chit chat and have a good laugh. Each technician seems to have their own strengths and skill sets and they offer one another tips to assist their client and ensure the client is getting the best service--which is very important. I even bring my two daughters her occassionally for kid pedies. One of the young ladies was so sweet and did these cute Halloween designs for them. My daughter and I got pedis here last Sunday. She got the young guy with cool hair and he seemed to do a nice massage and only spoke to her and was polite. I got an older lady who talked to him in a language that I don't speak the entire time....loudly. I'm all for a brief discussion, but it lasted almost the entire pedi and ruined any relaxation that I may have had. The massage chair also seemed like it was tired and outdated. I couldn't hardly feel a massage and it was very torn. There was also some drain near my chair that was covered in dust and looked just plain gross. The bowl cleaning process looked like it was lacking as well. The lady also gave me the worst/fastest massage of all time. My favorite part of a pedi is the sea salt scrub and that lasted as quick as she could put it on and rinse off. The good news is my toes haven't chipped yet but I can guarantee I won't be back. read more

I truly should've called the Stateboard of Cosmetology when I walked in here, it was humid/foggy, the workers sweating, messy, unsanitary when it comes to the pedicures. Pi wish I could give this place a 0. I went in the other day and the lady is like u need a new set. Ok I said when she was taking them off she was so damn rough and made me bleed. I said watch it u could be easier. And once she took them off she's like I don't have enough time to do a full set than why in the hell did u start and than take off my other set. So this guy took care of me well ok I wouldn't go that far. I told him before he started what I wanted and he's like ya ya I know I got this. If u don't like I'll give u ur 35 dollars back. So I said ok. Well I told him I wanted square so what does he do? He cuts a little bit from each side to make it a coffin look. So I instantly told him ur not doing what I wanted and asked foe. He than got all mad because I told him u have to listen to ur customers and what their telling u they want. He didn't listen or finish the job and when I asked for my money back he shorts me 3 dollars. So on top of it they now don't know how to count. One of the worst nail shops I've been too. The facility itself isnt clean at all. Normally when I get pedicures from other places, the tools they use are brand new right out the packaging. This place reuses their tools which is extremely gross. Everything was dirty and out of place in there. I went to this business to get my nails removed and to get a new set. I can't remember the tech name but she cut my nail off so low that she cut my skin very badly. So bad that the blood went under the nail were it look bruised under. I was in so much pain and I guess she felt it was minimal since she kept laughing it off. I was in so much pain I couldn't get my replacement nails done. Because 9 out 10 fingers would be weird. But they still charged me for the take off. Which was fine but she charged me $10 instead of $5 . I asked why was it $10 she said it was $5 only if I was getting a full set. Went on Friday to get a gel manicure. Upon leaving there my nails felt very flimsy. They would bend if lightly squeezed. I felt that perhaps the lady had filed them too much with the dremel. I've worked hard to get any length since I've been a nail biter all my life. Monday afternoon one of my nails cracked pretty deep. I called a few times to inquire on the cost of repairing. No answer. So I put tape around my finger to prevent anymore breaking. Today I went in. I explained to the young lady there that I felt my nail cracked because they were filed too much and told her how my nails were bending. She said she could fix it. She informed the lady that did nails on Friday. Apparently she was the owner, who I could tell was upset by the way she was talking in their language. The other nail guy there tells me that they aren't responsible for nails breaking only if polish comes off. I told him that my nails were flimsy and they weren't before. He again said they weren't responsible. At that point I got the impression that they thought I wanted it free. I didn't. The young girl proceded to repair my nail. The whole time the owner kept yapping to them making me feel uncomfortable. Even saying my nail broke because they were long. Which is not true. When she was done, I asked her how much did I owe her? The young girl looked surprised and looked over at the owner who said $5. I paid the $5 plus a $2 tip. About an hour later, washing dishes my nail cracked again in the same spot. I then decided to call someone else. I called Gel Nails who told me to come in. Amy saw my nail and said it should have been repaired with acrylic. She then looked at my nails and said the reason they were bending was because not enough coats of gel or the top was put on. Amy fixed my nail and added two more coats of gel and topping and my nails are way thicker! Nevada Nails could have done this correctly but instead I paid $25 for a gel manicure, $7 for a repair and then $15 more at another salon that did fix my nail. I've been at this place 3 times. My first pedi was actually at this spot and I went with my wife. That day was awesome and it was definitely a 5/5 but that was about a year or two ago. My 2nd experience was good as well, I don't really remember anything good or bad. My 3rd experience was yesterday and I went with my 5 year old daughter. She loved it and the lady that gave her a pedi did an awesome job on her feet. I was a little distracted reading on my tablet but when I got home I still felt the roughness of the bottom of my feet. I spent $20 +$8 tip on my feet and tonight I'm sleeping with socks on. Not to mention, she charged me full price for my 5 yrs old, so another $20... I paid $60 that morning... Including tip.
