They made size and fit recommendations and offered to order something that wasn't in stock (I have a odd frame) they simply contacted me when it was available and offered to tailor it to fit. They obsoletely went above and beyond what any other store would do. The selection of clothing is nice and stylish. They have everything you'll need for work and social events. They'll dress you head to toe! Keep in mind this isn't your $10 T-shirt shop or a place you'll find a cheap button up. The quality of items they have is top notch and made to last. While I waited for a button on my son's jeans to be replaced, I got a glimpse of the tailoring area in the back and learned that several of the tailors were from Senegal. Having lived in Senegal myself many years ago, I asked if I could say hello--and before long I was chatting with them in Wolof about Senegal, the World Cup, and life in general. They were delighted, I was delighted, and even an family in the front trying on formal wedding attire became part of the moment. What really sets British Custom Tailors apart is the combination of professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality. I went in for a button and walked out feeling like I had discovered a wonderful little community. Highly recommend this place for alterations, tailoring, or anything else they can do. I think the source of the issue is there are too many people between the customer and the actual tailor so communication breaks down. They do have a nice sized private parking lot which most highlands establishments can't lay claim to. So that is nice. Today after grabbing a coffee and some pastries with my wife and daughters my oldest two kids wanted to go into Thai store as the window shopping allures them inside. I was familiar with urban outfitters but couldn't remember why. I want to say that growing up they were located onside some of the local malls here in Lousiville. But I could be wrong. Anyways, waking in the store is very spacious and spread out. So plenty of elbow room and no worries about knocking over mannequins or clothing racks. So you can really breathe here. I will say they do have some very cool and hip looking clothing and I can see why my teenage girls was attracted to come in. The positive stop there. The place was absolutely one of the filthiest stores I've ever walked into in my life. We arrived about thirty minutes after opening and the welcoming rug was filthy. Looking around and it was like a dust bunny tumbleweed farm. Dust bunnies were literally every where on the floor and even worst under the racks and clothing displays. Like if you drop something you would have to soak it in sanitizer for a month to revive it from the dirt and germ damage. The prices on about 95 percent of the merch was horrendous and laughable. They do have a sell section where you can get some decent $20 tanks (which my oldest did). But most was laughable pricing for what was t shirts that weren't very special. For instance a Metallica t shirt cost $44? A sublime sweatshirt cost $69. These are band shirts guys. You can literally buy them at any department store or online ranging for $9-$20. I can promise you nobody in the world is gonna look at a band t shirt and be like "ahh snap they got that expensive band t shirt". Anyway I was completely annoyed and disgusted by this place. I was thinking one star all day but my daughters really liked the merch and said the clothes were super cool so I'll be nice and give them a 2 star that they honestly don't deserve. I guess one other nice thing I can say is there shopping bags there shopping bags they give you after purchase is pretty nice. Probably better material then the 40 plus dollar band shirts.
