I was lucky to get an appointment for a couple of days later with a very good shop in Highland. When I related my Mavis story to the (very reputable, and honest) mechanic, he started laughing. He told me that they don't use "state inspection forms", all the former paperwork is now done electronically in an Ipad or tablet. I need new tires, right now. The car we selected had high mileage and needed some work to pass inspection (new tires and a repair to an interior door handle) which was done with no extra cost to us. The car was also missing the floor cover to the spare tire in the trunk, and when we arrived to pick up the car, they surprised us by providing one from a different vehicle also at no charge. Most cars came with extended warranties (ex. 6 months or 6000 miles) which made us choose this dealer over a private sale. Jim called us later to check on everything.
