I hadn't attended school in over 10 years, but I knew that I wanted a fresh start & to do something…read moreI always dreamed of doing. It finally seemed like the perfect time. After 4 and a half months, I can proudly say that I graduated from the Esthetics program. My teachers were wonderful & the front desk ( reception ) is wonderful . They definitely juggle a lot when the salon is busy! The school gave me the experience of taking clients for the first time. This was new to me & very nerve wracking , but I like how they transition you after a few weeks from working on family members to actual clients. You have to get your feet wet eventually & the regular customers are usually very understanding. Both of my teachers made me feel comfortable & I respect both of them very much. I felt ready for the big test to get licensed ! That's the end goal! I also made life long friends because of this school & have such a passion for skincare - the opportunities are endless! I am very thankful for this school because it has opened up so much for me! It has been life changing. :)

I almost had the job and I lost my keys the morning I was supposed to come in and do a class Demo and I didn't get hired and I've been pretty crushed ever since I would love to work from the rock Academy. It's a dream of mine. I ran to Santa Barbara Beauty School for many years. I go on my own business and you'd be lucky to have me to shoot my own horn and I would be lucky to work for you. I don't think Alma will return my call, but I'll try again thank you Ken.

I graduated from VC more years ago than I will admit. Now I am taking a night class and am very…read moreimpressed with the new library and other campus additions.. Some of the classrooms are in the same funky 1970s buildings, but the art/design classroom has updated computers and huge monitors. The library building has cool architecture and a vast seating area with computers. The online registration process is challenging (you need a Master's degree to figure it out), but after an hour and a call to the helpline which confirmed that the error glitch would require me to re-input all my data again, I was able to register. The open hours for the store and registration are tricky too, so check online before venturing over. The teachers are as cool as I remembered them, so it has been rather fun revisiting some of my college memories. I even find parking spots on Loma Vista like I used to, and they will still ticket you in the permit parking lots too.

While VC offers affordable and convenient classes, it falls short in every other department. Every…read morecounselor my family has met has given false information and limited choices where there were alternatives available. In addition, the teachers are highly unmoving and do not even allow a late assignment when an immediate family member has been in the hospital or even passed away. Most recently, a teacher stated that it would not be equitable to treat students differently in such circumstances. Equality and equity are not the same thing; equity is giving people what they need, versus equality which is giving everyone the same thing. The fact that she did not understand that concept was especially frustrating and alarming considering it was a COMMUNICATIONS CLASS. I strongly urge any and all attendees to research the teacher's name and history on MULTIPLE sources, not just the college's. This institution depends on the ignorance of students in order to pass themselves off as "experts." I use the term "teacher" rather than "professor" since they are clearly not at that caliber. In this particular case, the teacher is Stacy Sloan Graham. We are required to take multiple courses in equity to obtain our degrees. However, this college does not seem to require their educators to practice it.

Although my admissions experience was a bit shaky as I debated whether or not heading back to…read moreschool was a good decision for me, I decided to stop in to the barber school mid-week and check the place out myself. Despite showing up unannounced, the instructor at the school was extremely welcoming, reassuring, and helped me pull the trigger on enrolling. My initial conversations with Yasmine in admissions were slightly questionable, but my most recent meeting with her was very pleasant. Start date: 04/28/25.

They…read morecome off as rude and dismissive, and it often feels like they play favorites with certain students. It's frustrating to put in effort and still be overlooked or treated with attitude. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and unfortunately, that's not what I've experienced. Most of the barber chairs were broken or barely functional, and the equipment looked old and poorly maintained. It's hard to take anything seriously when the place preaches professionalism but can't even keep the basics in working order. The hypocrisy is unreal--they expect high standards from everyone else, but clearly don't hold themselves to the same. This place is a joke. The teachers seem more focused on making you do doll head work than actually teaching how to cut real hair. Instead of giving proper hands-on training, they are more worried about sending students home early for the smallest things . How are we supposed to learn if we're not being taught the basics properly? Total waste of time and money. DO NOT COME HERE!!

I am an alumni of CCI. I literally just had my graduation/pinning ceremony last Friday…read more For those that are curious, want to change to a different career path, one that is stable, rewarding and let's face it secure? CCI has various health care related options, all fast tracked and have both day and evening options so you can still continue to work while attending school (granted that there are enough enrollees to facilitate both options) They have caring and knowledgeable staff who are experts in their fields, and give honest insight into the field that you selected to pursue. They have externships to actual facilities where you get real world exposure and training. You get out of this what you put in, so by no means are the programs easy, but you learn a lot. There are also financial aid options available to those who qualify. Most fields of study can be completed in less than 18months. I finished the Vocational Nursing program which was about 14months of actual school, and already am receiving job offers from several sites. If you're unsure, just stop by the campus and ask for Micheal Boyd. Take a campus tour, ask as much as you can before committing.

I could come one day and I made arrangements then genesis decided to contradict what I was…read morepreviously told when I tried explaining the misunderstanding she ran to the dean and told her I was behaving confrontational disrespectful and in a threatening manner, when I went to the dean about this and I told her that I was given two different information she went and investigated her exact words were "IM GOING TO GIVE U THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND THE ONLY REASON I DONT KICK U OUT OF MY PROGRAM IS BECAUSE OF THAT." In return I got placed on the wait list and genesis still expected me to pay enrollment fees with out the guarantee of being able to sign my contract she said there was no guarantee and it's a risk I have to take as being on the waitlist. So I paid a couple hundred and was expected to still show up and she was still allowing others to sign their contracts and enroll. She lacks professionalism and etiquette and the dean cares more about staff than the students. The way she allows her to treat others this way speaks volumes. Genesis straight picks and chooses who she wants as long as u don't pose a threat to her.
