Maezy was very responsive when I had questions. She very professional and kind. I'm so glad to have found an artist who uses quality inks. Ask her about them and she'll give you the information. I went to her for my first tattoo. It's very simple and something I've given a lot of thought to. I already have ideas for my next one and will definitely be going back to her. If you're on the fence, don't be. She made the whole experience very pleasant. It didn't hurt like I thought it would. Just felt uncomfortable but that's to be expected.

Seriously Patchie is THE BEST and does such amazing work! I've been looking into getting my brows redone for the longest time, but was hesitant because of my previous experience with getting my brows microbladed. Two-ish years ago I got microblading + shading done by a pretty popular IG brow artist and paid about $600-700. It did not last very long on me and was bummed at the healed result (even after 2nd session retouch). Ever since then, I've been asking friends who've got theirs done and looked at numerous Instagram pages until I finally came by Patchie's work. I was first introduced through a work friend who had recently had hers done. Her brows were FLAWLESS and even more beautiful after it healed. I booked with Patchie and waited about 3 months for my appointment (she books up fast cuz she's that good). My brows have never looked better! I recently went for my retouch a month ago and now it's fully healed. Love them so much and I always get compliments! 110% recommend Patchie if you wanna step up your brow game. She's super personable, easy to talk to, explains everything and is super thorough. I love that she's very patient and takes her time to make sure you leave happy! She knows how to shape your brows in a way to compliment your face. Modern Ink is located in Kunia Shopping Center next to Kunia Chinese Restaurant. Lots of free parking. She shares the space with her gf, Maezy, who is also a talented tat artist. Maezy is also super sweet and personable like Patchie! I've had a few friends get tats from her. Would highly recommend both Patchie and Maezy!!

I have been so anxiously awaiting my chance to finally be able to write a review. I have had the honor of having art done by both Maezy & Patchie and I assure you, you will NEVER find a more talented duo. Their shop is so nice and clean. It FEELS clean in there. I don't know how to explain it, but with everything going on in the world, this was one place I didn't feel like I had to worry. My first appointment was with Maezy. After I saw her work I knew she'd be perfect to do a portrait of my German Shepherd, Ruca. We texted for a bit, she said no problem and I was pumped. (My appointment got set back because of the rona, but both Maezy and Patchie are incredible with communication and kept me up to date with both appointments.) finally, my day came. Maezy and I went over placement and everything and she got to work. This was honestly the most pleasant tattoo experience I've had. She has such a light hand. She is so efficient when she works, it only took 3 hours to do the portrait, which is pretty big in my opinion. The attention to detail she did is incredible. I can't tell you how many people are in awe when they see my tattoo. My 1 year old son is obsessed with it. The first time he saw it, he knew who it was right away. THAT is how good this tattoo is. My second appointment was my brow appointment with Patchie. I'm a natural blonde who was a pre/teen in the late 90s-early 00s so I'm sure you already know the damage I did to my brows. I've been insecure about them, except when I draw them on, but I honestly just don't have the energy for it anymore. I'd previously had a bad microblade experience, but after seeing Patchie's work I knew I had nothing to worry about. I decided to go with powder ombré and boyyy, my brows are bomb. Patchie took her time to make sure the style is exactly what I liked & offered suggestions to make them just right. As a blonde, getting the shade for brows right is hard, but mine are perfect (taupe). She numbs you up good, so I literally didn't feel a thing. I can't reiterate enough how much attention to detail both Maezy and Patchie pay to their work. You can tell they're passionate and love what they do. That is who you want work done by. You aren't just a number or a client. I also love the way they handled the situation with the coronavirus. I can't imagine how hard it was for them to have to shut their doors like that, but you can tell protecting the health of them and their clients was of the utmost importance. As impatient as I was for both of my appointments, they were definitely worth the wait. Thank you Maezy & Patchie!!

Honestly if you're looking for a sick tat, you definitely should book with Maezy! But it's definitely kinda hard to book with her because shes hard to get a hold of due to high demand! I first found out her through mutual friends. My first tat from her was the moon. My friend got her tat done from her way back in HS when she had first started doing tats and she never had this shop. So I'm so glad she finally has a studio to call her own! In fact when we went to get the sun and moon tat from maezy, she was preparing her shop still and her business was still at her home. We pulled up to her house and got it done and it turned out so good! She's such a dope artist That I even got my mom to go to her on her own lol. I think I had her number because you have to book a $50 hold fee through Venmo. But that price gets deducted from the overall total. So I think I paid $130 for my sun? But not bad considering the size... I got it in dec 2018 so it's been a while. I could be wrong about the price but if I'm not mistaken I think that's what I paid. I got my scripture on 10/2019 and my mom also got her turtle with me. I texted her to book for that apt. I wasn't expecting much because si know how busy she is. However she did reply within a day which was pretty cool considering that was a pretty quick turn around. Then we booked for the date and I think it was that apt that we kept having to push it back due to her schedule and me not being able to come during a week day. I already paid the $50 booking fee so I thought what the heck why not just keep rescheduling. Plus I realized I was still on accutane so it was a blessing in disguise. Then we finally where able to go in and we actually showed up early lol cause it was my first time trying to find her shop and we didn't want to show up late. Better early than late! It wasn't too hard to find you just have to pay attention to the shop names because it is displayed in the front. She was so patient with my mom! I felt so bad because my mom kept making her take off the stencil to place it perfectly! But that's what a true perfectionist and what a good tattoo artist would do and i truley appreciate that about her! As a paying customer and for something to be permanently on your body, you would expect it to be perfectly placed. No regrets right! So that's why I'm glad she wasn't mad or anything that my mom did that lol. I think I was getting mad for her like so shame. Then she even went ahead and set up the second apt for my mom on the spot for her because my mom wanted a butterfly on her foot. Since I did pay the $50 deposit, I also paid $130 for my arm tat, total for the scripture was $180. That's expensive but it came out really nice! My moms turtle was $140! Also, these prices are witching tip okay! Total deal considering the color tat and how big and now it is wow!!!! Also for her butterfly I remember her telling me she paid $140 without tip. That's also a teal considering the size and color she paid for, really good! The only thing is I'm trying to get a hold of her for the touch up apt. But that was back in Jan and I haven't heard back since. I know foot tattoos can be hard to do, especially colored ones, but my mom is willing to pay for it to make it more vibrant if possible :) please lmk! I know it's still coronavirus season but when this is over... Anyways, if y'all are planning to get a tat, I think Meazy is a definitely a talented tattoo artist who knows what she is doing. Black and white most definitely. Scripture is an A plus plus plus from me! Mostly recommend for sure! Also for dainty tattoos, as well as affordable prices! I would come back to maezy and I definitely plan to. Review #15 of 365

I first found this place on yelp when I was looking for a place to do my tattoo. After seeing all of Patchie's work I decided to wait on my tattoo and get my brows done instead. It was super fast and easy to book an appointment online. The space is clean and super cute...I loved all the decor they had up on the walls. Both girls were really nice. They offered water and make sure you're comfortable the entire time. Patchie is absolutely amazing! She takes her time mapping and makes sure everything is perfect before starting. I was there for about three hours but it really didn't seem that long. I will defiantly be back to get my tattoo soon.

Patchie gave my face & brows LIFE! Even tho it's just the first day of my appt, I am soo obsessed with them & I am so happy I took the chance to finally see you to get my brows done. The whole session from Beginning to end was really worth it! The pain was nothing yet the outcome was way beyond my expectations! but I also truly cannot wait until it's fully healed too. She's truly a blessing & a Godsend! She made sure my appt was as comfortable as she made me feel throughout my whole appt. I'm truly thankful for her being such a perfectionist because that is one thing I truly admire about her & her passion in making brows as perfect & symmetrical as they can be & what brows frames a face best. Can't wait to see her in a month or two for my follow touch up appt. And also I just loved the vibes of the atmosphere of their shop because Patchie & Maezy are such amazing and very talented dolls! And the aesthetic of the shop made me feel so at home. I'm most definitely will be looking forward to someday getting inked by Maezy because her work is amazing also!

My daughter wanted to get her 1st tattoo done and was looking for where she wanted to get it done. She came across Modern Tattoo and Microblading and checked out Maezy's tattoo pictures of what she's done and decided she wanted to get her 1st tattoo done by Maezy. We decided to go in person to schedule an appointment with Maezy show her a picture of what she wanted done and where. We spoke to Maezy and scheduled the appointment after going over what my daughter wanted for her 1st tattoo and where. My daughter wanted a tattoo from part of her thigh up pass her hip therefore we were comfortable with her getting it done by a female tattooist which are very hard to find now a days. Day of her appointment I went with my daughter to be there for support and comfort. Maezy was awesome she had several printouts of the tattoo my daughter wanted made some changes to it and Maezy had 2 different sizes for my daughter to choose from. She really listened to what my daughter wanted and delivered. My daughter was nervous going in but Maezy made her feel so comfortable. During the tattooing Maezy, my daughter and I talked which really made for a relaxed environment it was like we were talking to another family member or friend. During the tattooing Maezy told my daughter if she needed a break just to let her know and she'll give her a break. My daughter said that Maezy has light hands and didn't feel much of the shading. When completed my daughter couldn't stop smiling and saying how much her tattoo looks good and how she loves it. She is so happy to have found Maezy and have her be the one to do her 1st tattoo. She loves her tattoo so much she's already thinking what she wants for her 2nd tattoo and of course she'll be going to Maezy again to do it. Thanks Maezy for giving my daughter such a great experience on getting her 1st tattoo.

Finally. I been waiting to leave a review for Patricia and Maezy!!!! First things first, I just need to congratulate these two young entrepreneurs on their growing business! Their shop is located in Kunia Shopping Center right next to Auntie Pastos & Kunia Chinese Restaurant. Can't miss it. Lots of parking so you don't have to worry. I found out about Modern Ink & Microblading because I was desperately in search for someone that specializes in doing Ombré Powder Tattooing. I don't just trust anyone with my brows and I 100% fully trust Patricia with doing mines. I am VERY satisfied with her work! Oh, and my eyebrows look amazing. I no longer have to wake up extra early to fill them in with makeup, I just wake up and go. Aside from doing Microblading, Microshading, Ombré Powder... Patricia also offers Make-Up services as well. From prom, bridal, etc. Prices vary but feel free to contact them for a better quote. I also recommend everyone to check out their Instagram so you can get first dibs on Specials she puts out. Every once in a great while she'll do a giveaway for $100 off services and more awesome deals. @browsbypatchie Maezy, her wifey and business partner.. does Tattooing. She specializes Black & Grey, Portraits & Realism. For more information and pictures on the type of work she does, check out their Instagram @modern_ink_hawaii :-) I love coming to Modern Ink because they make everyone feel so welcoming and comfortable. My experiences here definitely feels like I'm getting work done at a high-end spa. Check them out, you won't regret it!

Went to Maezy for my very first tattoo-- which was a floral peony piece. She showed me the outline at my appointment and then we made adjustments there. She's super friendly and open to adjustments. Had a pleasant experience, almost a pain-free one. She made sure I was comfortable before beginning and offered water throughout. Super satisfied with the results. I will be back! Only hard part was finding the shop; They don't have a sign for their shop! They're located right next to Kunia Chinese Restaurant.

Had an amazing experience at Modern Ink & Microblading today! Both owners Maezy who does the tattoos and Patchie who microblades were very nice and welcoming. From the very beginning before we started my session Maezy asked if she could give me a water or if I needed to use the bathroom. She made me feel comfortable and asked how I was doing throughout my session. This tattoo means so much to me and I am glad to have it before graduating college next Saturday! It represents my furry Best Friend names Diamond who has passed last week and I love poetry books so I wanted a sunflower because of a poem by Rupi Kaur Entirely grateful and for sure will be visiting even more!

These lovely ladies are the epitome of hustle and will right here!! Maezy is seriously the best tattoo artist I've come across so far I have had several artists do my tattoos and the ones that I get from her are far out of reach and did I mention her lines are clean af!!! They work so hard and not to mention they are very professional! As for her other half Patricia I will need to schedule something for my eyebrows real soon! Her work is extra ordinary and she does bomb makeup! The shop is very clean, well polished, and great vibes when you walk in. Book your appointments with these lovely ladies real soon.

Beautiful tat, excellent artist. Very clean shop. May go back for another before I head home!!Highly recommend!

I've just gotten my first tattoos yesterday but I knew I wanted my first tattoos from her for awhile. She's very friendly and very professional. She made me feel really comfortable and did my first tattoos beautifully. 10/10 recommend.

So I called one evening because I had wanted to get the snake bite piercing for a long time and I…read morehad the $ to be able to do it right then. So I called, although they were closed they stayed open and when I got there they were so awesome! Right away they were very personable and fun to talk with and interesting. They make your experience unbelievably easy and any concerns you have will be addressed or answered. I think they have the Aloha spirit; where you almost feel like you're Ohana when you walk in there. When you do, your going to possibly love all the interesting collectibles! I got my snake bite and then I took my daughter to get her nose pierced her septum and she said very minimal pain even for the area and my daughter cannot handle pain she is a very sensitive person. Even she was surprised and happy! Her piercing is doing great! She did what she was told on how to take care of it and she's asking to get more!! When I give in there is nowhere else I would go except here!

Saw their booth at the Hawaii Tattoo Expo and they had great prices for what I wanted to get so I…read moredecided to get my third lobes and mid helix done. First off, EXTREMELY unorganized. All of their jewelry was stored in plastic containers where the employees were just digging through, without gloves (SO unsanitary), to find the jewelry that the customers wanted. I wanted titanium flat backs because I'm allergic to sterling silver and I don't heal well if it is pierced with steel. The girl who pierced me looked through all the containers before finding 3 gold colored titanium flat backs with silver colored titanium ball toppers. The piercing process started out okay, she cleaned off the area, although not very thoroughly, and marked where she was going to pierce and let me see before she started the process. I don't think they sterilized the jewelry before they pierced me either, even though different, ungloved, employees were digging around in the jewelry boxes just before. She opened a new needle and started on my lobes, these were pretty smooth. The biggest issue came when she started on my mid helix. Told me take a deep breath and she pushed the needle through, then went to guide the jewelry in, but could only get it HALFWAY. I heard her whisper "oh shoot" under her breath before proceeding to try multiple times to push the jewelry all the way through. She asked the other guy, Jay, for help and they both stood there pushing my ear around for a solid 3 minutes before the jewelry was fully through. It was a while before the piercing was done, I could feel the blood on my ear slipping around while he essentially tried to repierce it with the jewelry. Neither of them used a clamp, or even a tube to catch the needle as it went through to the other side, just used their hands which I could feel were slipping off my ear. To top it all off, my mom told me after that they used the same needle for all three of my piercings, super unsanitary! I've gotten thick cartilage piercings done before this (rook, nostril, helix) and I have NEVER had an experience like this. I will not be coming back here, not even for my jewelry changes. The only good thing I would say about this experience was that the lady at the front was polite and friendly, and the girl who pierced me was also nice, I just wish the process of the actual piercing was a bit cleaner and smoother. I hope nobody else has an experience like this, and I hope my piercings don't get infected.
