Impeccable service from Joe last night, and the food was outstanding as usual!! Our table was perfect too.

Service was very very professional and dutiful and the waiter came by to see how we liked our food. Ambiance was quintessential high end steak restaurant. Music was subdued and classy. Seating as comfy and the interior looked and felt like a high caliber steakhouse. As usual, the steak was generously, pleasantly and perfectly seasoned with a nice char and spot-on temperature. Also was very tender. The shrimp were extra large, plump and fresh--a healthy choice that--due to the toothsome cocktail sauce, did not sacrifice flavor. The fries were the quintessential steakhouse sort, crispy but not soggy. Add your own salt since it might need a little more than they apply. I almost forgot, the bead basket had several different types like onion, wafer, and sourdough which all were fantastic. read more

Relying on the name .. Waiter called the woman and I "young ladies" off to a bad start ! That greeting and the menu - totally dated ! The waiter got my husband's drink order wrong . Really only 3 of us and he has annoyed us all before the appetizer ed arrived ! I was in the mood for a Icy Margareta on a hot Saturday night . this place works. *stamford is the city that works" is the double entendre and brand positioning against nyc and the same can be said about CG against the restaurant space. people may hate on a chain but my uncle keith was ahead of his time, in the vanguard for his fealty here. he's one of those players with his own wine cabinet. anyways i enjoyed th wagyu burger and wine fantastic value for $35 a beautiful california cab and literally a top five burger. the only buzzkill is this is limited edition and no more burger. poof! the happy hour remains and the shrimp was excellence plain and simple. oysters were just aight but i blame me for ordering them. read more

I want to start by saying the waitstaff and host could not have been nicer and tried to make things right.... Now the hard parts. I went there the other night a bit on the late side for a celebratory dinner. We had some lovely wines and cocktails but the absolute worst meals. The steak (ordered med rare) was well done and not one but for two people. A veal chop that was so overcooked it honestly could not be cut. To add to this the sides were also burned except for the asparagus which was just weedy and gross. Honestly, hands down the biggest letdown I've even had at a good restaurant. Lucky we had a good group and everyone just sort of ignored the food. But the fact that clearly no one checks the orders before they go out is sad. I've worked in a lot of restaurants and this was a lot of failures to get this far. They acknowledged how bad it was , removed it from the bill but still it was late and no one wanted to wait for another meal to be cooked: My advice, maybe lunch if you want a burger as it is pretty inside. But before you waste hundreds of dollars take a pass on dinner. read more

Service was glacial. Ordered cocktails, appetizers, entrees and wine (for two) up front and dinner still took two and a half hours. As the entrees were about to be served, we were informed the wine we had selected was not available. No apology; no offer of substitution, just the wine list to select an alternative. No follow up from server at any time during the meal. Food was OK to good. Did I mention the service was glacial. Sorry to give a negative review, but the experience was underwhelming and easily the least enjoyable of any steakhouse at which we've dined. Pass. read more

Came here to celebrate Orthodox Easter with friends but turned out to be a horrible experience. The waitress was very rude when we provided her with feedback that the beef was undercooked, the service was slow and the coffee was served cold. She didn't even offered to replace the food or beverage and no apologies whatsoever. My work colleagues warned me that the service in this location has gone downhill and indeed it is true. We were so excited to eat all the delicious food that we dove right in and forgot to take more pictures. We've been coming here for years and it has never ever disappointed. The food is always on point in every way, presentation, preparation, flavor - always excellent. Our waiter, Mike was great. He explained the different cuts to my son who was looking to try something different. I always get the filet with bearnaise sauce on the side, we usually get the Brussels Sprouts but we decided to get the creamed spinach instead. This is place is what I call my good ole reliable lol! My experience is always great. It could be 2 months or 3 years out you always feel welcomed! My friend took me here for my birthday. I had a wonderful time. I love the ambiance, something I rarely, well, never have, in my life anymore. It is so elegant, definitely masculine vibe which I love. I cannot remember exactly what I ate!! We had a glass of Prosecco to start and salad and main course for lunch. We definitely had a dessert. The table was strewn with little shiny Happy Birthday's and a pretty card that wished me Happy Birthday. I am going back this coming week with three friends. Always have our Anniversary dinner at Capital. Last night, everything was perfect, no complaints at all about the dining experience. (Only complaint is that the staff needs to "attend" to the men's room more regularly, I won't go into details, but some people are complete savages when using the restroom.) Our server, Madeline, was awesome, she was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. It was a pleasure having her attend to us because of her great attitude and sense of humor. As a matter of fact, we will ask for her specifically next time we dine there. Another Great Meal and Great Service! Our server Emily was absolutely terrific. Attentive, pleasant, helpful and made our evening super enjoyable. Kevin, the manager always takes care of us and makes sure we feel like family. We love coming here and always have top notch service. We started with the new shrimp appetizer which was phenomenal! We shared fried calamari which was tasty but had more cherry peppers than calamari. 2 guest order the surf and turf which they both liked but the portion was on the smaller side. I ordered the Gorgonzola rubbed steak delicious and perfectly medium rare. My gf ordered the fig steak and she loved it so much. We all shared the sides, lobster Mac and cheese (it was ok), Brussels sprouts (great!), mashed potatoes (also great), and the sautéed spinach (not that good lol)... ambiance it super classy and our server Dragos was super hospitable. We were celebrating two birthdays with our friends and initially were seated at a table that had a glare from a lamp on it. I requested to be moved to another table and the nice server, Zach, accommodated my request with a great attitude even though the table had been decorated and we were no longer in his section anymore.. very impressed with that! Ahmed was our new server and he was excellent and made great recommendations on the food choices and timed the meal perfectly. We enjoyed the beet salad, wedge salad, prosciutto app, lobster & crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, Filet, Kona strip and black tie margaritas. My wife and I come here every year the week of our anniversary because they do such a great job. Tonight was no exception. Ahmed was our server, who was so professional and so nice. It was a great dinner, and it was Restaurant Week in Stamford. We had the special menu, and our Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly. The Augratin Potatoes were delicious, and the special Anniversary deserts were so good too. We love this place so much. They treat you like royalty at Capital Grille. I visited when they had a 3 course special, and it was amazing! I wish it was a permanent and not a special. Parking is at the attached mall (or there is valet) which has a small fee during the week but free on Sundays. We showed up earlier than our reservation, and they were super busy. Definitely recommend getting reservations! They had a mixed bread bowl, with lavash and blueberry muffinish slices. Those were amazing! The clam chowder here is definitely one of the best around. So creamy and chock full of clams. The steaks are out of this world! Crispy crunchy crust, soft tender insides, cooked perfectly to your preferred temp, and the right amount of salty. It's amazing. The mashed potatoes are creamy and pair great with the steak. For dessert, the flourless chocolate cake is an amazingly rich, dense treat. But their cheesecake is above and beyond. It has a creme brulee style top (caramelized sugar crunchy top) with fresh fruit and sauce. It was small, but so satisfying, a really elevated version of this ubiquitous dessert. It was very crowded, but never had an empty drink. The servers were running around and getting things done. The decor is very upscale. This is a great place for special occasions. read more

My Husband and I visited Capital Grille for our anniversary last month and we were extremely impressed with the food quality, service and thoughtfulness in making us feel special. The server Andre was very friendly and gave incredible food recommendations. When we came to the table it was decorated with confetti and they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to toast with. We ordered their calamari which melted in your mouth and was super delicious! I had the bone in filet topped with lobster sauce and a side of shallot butter which was so juicy, tender, flavorful and simply magnificent. My husband ordered the ribeye steak which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The creme bruleed cheesecake was so simple, but delicious! Everything exceeded our expectations!
