Came here for drinks with friends and had a nice experience. It was a bit off the beaten path, but I really liked it. The inside is nicely decorated and cozy. Tigin is the premier pub in Stamford, every time I come into town I always make a pitstop. You cannot find a cozier place in the city - from the roaring fireplaces to the well-adorned walls, the ambience is perfect. The bartender Sophie was charming and friendly, chatted with my girlfriend and I while we sat and had a delicious meal, and poured the FINEST Guinness I've had in a long time. Tigin has long been my favorite, and the service last night yet again reminded me why! Will absolutely be stopping by again the next time I'm in the area. read more

I love this place. You literally feel like your in a pub on the countryside of Ireland. The food is always so good. My personal favorites are the shepards pie and the chicken quesadilla, but all of the food is incredible. The service is great and the staff is always very friendly and helpful! The Guinness drinks are always great too they do black and tans, snakebite, all that good stuff. They also rotate seasonal cocktails as well which is pretty awesome. There's also usually live music every week as well which is pretty cool I think they are the only place that does live music in downtown Stamford. Oh and not to mention, there's TVs everywhere! If you want a great spot to watch the game but actually drink good drinks and eat good food, don't go to Bobby vs or Buffalo Wild Wings, go to TIGINS! read more

There was a time when Tigin was the only place we would go to. Nowhere else, because the staff, management, and food were phenomenal. Sadly that is not case anymore. Change of management and transient staff have made Tigin a very disappointing experience. I can honestly say that we will never go there again. They have the best outdoor seating in the summer! The bar is great in the winter too because they have a cozy vibe and a fireplace. I really love this place - the food, the atmosphere, everything is normally great! Giving three stars because I wanted to place a takeout order today and was told that they aren't allowed to accept takeout orders over the phone - online or in person only. I actually tried to order online before calling and the pickup time couldn't be changed from "tomorrow at 4pm" and it's been like that for the last week so I finally decided to just call. My lunch break doesn't allow for the travel time plus having to order and wait in person for it to be ready. Huge bummer & inconvenience! Hoping this changes!! read more

Believe me, fellow foodies, when I say that in this case fat is where it's at. The bigger crisp where defiantly crispier and seemed to really embrace some of their signature dipping sauces. This is NOT an Irish Pub! The inside does not look or feel like an Irish pub! The food was not good either. The Reuben was nothing to write home about. The bread was hard has a rock. The corned beef was ok and the cole slaw was awful! The grilled chicken sandwich with mozzarella, roasted peppers and lettuce was disgusting! The chicken was dry, the mozzarella cheese was "wet" and there was only one tiny piece of red roasted pepper. The lettuce was wilted and warm. The chips were the only good thing. My daughter asked for stone ground mustard (a staple with a Reuben sandwich) and she was told we told "we don't have it, but we do have our house made honey mustard." It's good, but not at the cost. My wine was OK, but not worth $13.00 a glass. Kyle never checked on us to see if we needed anything. Never offered my daughter another Diet Coke. The restaurant wasn't busy, it was a Thursday night. - If you LOVE Irish food, do NOT go here! read more

I love Tigin. I don't live downtown but I still manage to get there all the time. If I did live downtown, I would probably die from liver failure at Tigin. Great music, great cocktails, GREAT craft beer selection. They some how manage to /generally/ dodge the annoying, bro-y college crowd. Some still sneak it, but mostly Tigin is a great place to find a little corner and be in your own world. Lastly: fireplaces. read more

I work in the restaurant industry, they have been an after work regular spot for me for about two years, I know their bartenders even though it's a high turnover over position where no one stays more than 5 months. I was in there after work tonight, thanksgiving eve, they were slammed. I was with 2 friends we had about 4 beers each, then order a shot for the way out. I see a woman behind the bar, she looked like a girl I am friends with that bartends there, as she walks by yelling some stuff at all the employees I jokingly say "ok loose the fkkking attitude" with a smile waiting to see my friend roll her eyes at me. Instead it's the general manager, a women who I've never seen before, and she snaps around and her reaction was abrasive, which I understand. Now seeing it wasn't my friend I start apologizing and trying to explain that it was a joke meant for someone else who appreciates that type of humor. But the "GM" acted like she drank more than me, yelling and refusing to have any conversation. She took all our drinks and said to leave. I told her we still had to pay. While we were paying she stood there still going off and refused to hear anything I was trying to explain. With management like this it's no wonder there's a high turnover and the place is empty 80% of the week. There are a hundred bars in Stamford to go to so it's not a big deal to me, we will just go somewhere else, I just feel bad for the people who have to work with/for her and everything that management like that costs them. Besides her there are plenty of good people working there, it's just too bad that the way she acted will cost the business a regular customer. read more

Ordered Cole slaw and wings for pickup, not bad. The wings were pretty good but not amazing, but that seems to be the case for wings in this area unfortunately. They were smaller than I expected for "jumbo" wings (although I can only hope it means they were the higher quality ones not full of hormones). read more

Tigin's is one of my favorite hangout spots in Stamford, especially on Tuesday nights when I can come and enjoy some trivia with friends. There have been a few themed trivia nights and those nights are packed but the regular trivia nights (Tuesdays at 8pm) are pretty cool too. The food is pretty good, especially their wings and their giant pretzel. They also have happy hour until 7pm on weekdays, which includes both drinks and appetizers. They have a wide selection of beers, and they had a pretty cool harry potter themed cocktail menu for the harry potter trivia night I went to recently. The service is pretty good and the staff does a good job of checking in once in a while to make sure our table is well-attended to. There is an outdoor patio which is great for those nice summer evenings when you want to take in the breeze over a nice cold beer. What bar isn't complete with a few tv's playing whatever sports game is on whether the world cup, baseball, or football, so make sure you come check it out! read more

I think their food creativity for an Irish bar was impressive. Here are some elements of what I had...smoked salmon bites with fresh smoked salmon, capers and a cream cheese sauce on a dough like circle thingy, this was a nice change from your regular bar app. The chicken quesadilla thingy, were filled with chicken, cheeses and cilantro, I love cilantro, and surrounded in a dumpling-like textured wrap, topped with diced tomatoes, red onions and drizzled with sour cream. This quesadilla was really tasty but lacked that crispness that generally provides you with that toothsome feel. But all in all a very creative take on the regular quesadilla. The bartender slash manager was very attentive to our needs and kept busy by checking in on all the other patrons. I would definitely come back to try their other fare. read more

This is an update to my previous review. It was good to hear from the restaurant as they were concerned about my previous experience on St. Patrick's Day. They reached out to me and I agreed to try them again. The restaurant was not super busy like last time. It was like night and day, literally. We arrived pretty early in the evening on a Friday afternoon. I was able to grab a table very quickly and my drink order was delivered in a timely fashion. The food was quite enjoyable too. We ordered fish & chips, cheese wedges, and chicken tenders. The staff checked in from time to time with us to make sure we were doing alright. They have tables outside during the summer but it was too hot out. We like being indoors with the AC on full blast. It was very comfortable sitting across from the big screen. I met with the manager as well and explained my experience. In the end it was really an isolated case that didn't happen again. I gave them a benefit of a doubt and I'm glad I did because I had a very good experience the second time around. In fact she even knew our co-worker by name! I'm adding an extra star for a total of 4 for their improvement. I'll be back again. read more

Great place, but they have a tall, dark skinned, mature guy with a big problem of attitude to talk to the customers. He reacts very unpleasantly when something simple like removing the cheese is requested. I have never been received with a bad attitude and a "whats up" as costumer in any place of the world. They gave me a burnt hamburger, I returned it and he got upset. Come on dude! You are not the owner of the place. The owner would be nicer. read more

Awesome U-shaped bar, quaint and cute. However, when we went to order the bartender was the nastiest, most miserable women I have encountered in many, many years ! WHOever she was, May 15, 2022, 7pm bartender, was the absolute worst! So horrible that we didn't reply to her sheer ignorance we simply moved along! Avoid this spot at all costs! If you're desperate take a seat outside...don't venture inside because you will for sure leave in disgust if this pillar of misery is working the bar! Washed up jerk! But to be honest and objective, the place is popular but can get too full on peak hours. While the staff is nice and friendly, they can forget to serve you, and had to be reminded several times to take order. Yeaa.. service is a bit lacking. We came here after Bar Roso just let us sit outside with no service for 20 minutes. When we got there the waitress was really attentive and nice. We got our drinks and hung out. One of the things that we really liked was they didn't crank up the music so high at the restaurant. We didn't have to yell at each other to talk to each other. And we ordered dry rubbed wings. Really taste i wish I've taken pictures of them. Also our waitress provided really good service. Drinks were little too sweet for my tastes but I liked them alot. We frequent Tigan's, especially when we're just looking to drink and not really after food. The menu is pretty limited, but everything I've had has been great. They're also amazing to furry friends- our dog had walls bowl of water as soon as we sat down! It's a nice spot to hide away at if you're looking for something more intimate and private. read more
