After trying on my own to hang a medicine cabinet in my bathroom and drilling a huge hole in my wall; Modern Masters Painting came to the rescue! All it took was a text on Monday and Clancy was at the house by Wednesday with the tools and the know-how to fix the hole and hang the cabinet. It looks wonderful (see picture below)! I recently fixed the foundation of my 100-year old house, which had caused severe cracks in the living room ceiling and walls. After allowing time for the foundation repair to "settle", I contacted Modern Masters Painting for an estimate to repair the living room plaster and paint. Clancy quoted a solution for the ceiling problem: remove sagging sections and patch in new drywall, secure the rest of the ceiling with plaster washers and screws, and then skim coat to create a flat ceiling. The quote also included prepping/painting the walls, windows and trim in the living room, and installing/painting oak baseboard in the living and dining rooms. The job took 9 days to complete and they knocked it out of the park. They renovated both the living and dining rooms and it turned out beautiful. In addition to the repairs and paint, Clancy took care to ensure every detail was addressed and installed heat registers and outlet / switch plate covers, patched in missing pieces of oak flooring, and installed oak door casing / door jamb where none existed. He even fixed the deadbolt on the front door to make sure it locked correctly. He is very responsive, honest, and reasonably priced. We had a deal fall through with another contractor and thankfully for us, Clancy happened to get a cancellation so he was able to fit us in. We had time constraints for the work on our house and were in a hurry to paint the common areas of the house, do random touch up paint, picture mounting and bathroom and kitchen caulking. My ceiling definitely needed to be repaired and painted because of water overflow from my jacuzzi upstairs. Lesson learned: don't let friends use jacuzzi at your party! Modern Masters came in and repaired it on schedule. They did some projects from me in the past and was referred by a good friend so this review was due. The first job they did was repairing the ceiling seams of my top-floor unit that didn't last 2 years when it was newly constructed. Hard working Crew & absolute perfect results! This is our first time using Modern Master Painting, and we did not really know what to expect. Clancy came recommended from another high quality Park Ridge area painter, as themselves he was unable to complete ours in quick turnaround. We needed our full apartment painted, Ceiling to baseboard, including painting 7 pairs of doors from dark wood finish to white. All trim, baseboards and of course walls. We threw a mixture of paint tasks (pun intended) at Clancy & Modern Masters, our walls were a mess after long time renters. I was worried. but fear not a week later, the apartment was ready and literally the transformation was amazing. Guy knows his stuff! Uses the right product for the right task, and Clancy and John worked very hard, to get absolute splendid results. We shopped around for painters and Clancy came in in came in with a very competitive price. Coming from a perfectionist and amateur painter, I know that if i attempted to paint the apartment myself it would have taken me 3 weeks. These guys worked very hard, on time, punctual and worked very hard to finish it in 5 days. When i patch, I can always find the hole after the new color is put on , after MMP finished, i could have not found the holes or protrusions in our walls, this is what I was worried about, but fear not these guys know their trade, and again the owner is not afraid to get dirty and work along with his crew. I worked with Clancy on a huge remodel project in my family room. I bid the project out to 3 top Yelpers, and Clancy's came in the most competitive with added value of coordinating a plumber, carpenter, and electrician. I could not be more pleased with the end result! An old bar was torn out with the drywall patched, a column built, all windows/trim/walls painted, and even our stone fireplace was beautifully painted as well. Our old square lights were replaced with circular recessed lights (and 8 more cans put in place). The job took two weeks, which included two days for carpet guys. Clancy was easy to work with, fast in responding, and really cares about a good detailed job done right. I've been meaning to post this review for a while because of the great work this company did on my condo. I bought the top floor of a new-construction 6-unit building. I noticed the seams started to peal off the ceiling due to settling after 1 year. At the time I didn't really know any painters so I irrationally hired a guy soliciting for work outside of Home Depot. What a mistake!! He did the necessary repairs to my entire ceiling but a year after the seams came off again. After I got what I paid for from that guy I wanted to find someone reputable and a friend referred me to Modern Masters painting. Clancy and his team came by, gave me a fair estimate and guaranteed it to last 5 years. I requested if minimal dust was doable during their project because of my allergies and he used a special type of compound which limited the amount of dust. They also cleaned up their work after each day which is a good indication of a competent contractor. The seams still look like the day he worked on them and this is a roof ceiling, which gets abused from the inclement weather so I could not be happier. Is it this hard to find good painters? Well apparently . After getting pushed back and forth on start dates from 2 other painting contractors for almost a month I searched on yelp and found MMP . Clancy responded to my request for a quote to repaint my house and I received a estimate and projected start time that fit my needs within a day. This was last week. House is 1700sq ft and has a lot of trim and doors. They are on day 2 of prep and prime already and I can tell I made the right decision. When I first met Clancy, I was impressed by his concern for details in estimating a proposal. Our house required more than just painting. Several sections of cedar siding on the second floor had to be replaced. These were not small sections, but 4 foot by 10 feet long. The front doors had been stained, sealed, and resealed several times. They looked it. Clancy's crew stripped the doors down to bear wood and refinished them. The whole crew was concerned about doing a great job and worked meticulously preparing and painting the second floor siding, trim and other parts of the house. Modern Masters Painting did a fantastic job restoring our house to the way it looked 30 years ago. If we ever need painting either outside or inside, we will definitely call them.
