I can't say enough positive things about Anthony and his salon! There are a lot of nail salons in this area, but most have poor reviews. I came in with some broken and misshapen nails and he was able to help bring them back to life! I also liked the selection of colors, I have been looking for a lilac polish and I was able to find the perfect shade here! read more

First time coming here and I'm beyond impressed! Anthony took me in for a full set and custom design just 20 minutes before closing, which says so much about how much he cares about his clients and his business. I got there first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in right away. I was so thrilled. The staff were so kind and welcoming, taking an interest in my life and willing to share about their own. The atmosphere was one of belonging. As their regular customers came in, I noticed they remembered details of people's lives. The place isn't particularly stunning in any way, they don't try to lull you in with a modern-day-self-care-indulgence aesthetic but to me it gives off the vibe of sanctuary. I suspect it is the hearts of the employees that give this place its glow. I come here every couple of years for a pedicure... maybe longer in between visits. We are visiting Palm Springs and my nails were in need of major help. My polish was ruined by all of the sunscreen. I am very particular about my nails so I ended up doing a lot of research. I found Sunshine Nails here on Yelp and read through many reviews as well as the owner's bio. I was very impressed by all of the positive comments. Brought my elderly mom here for a manicure and a pedicure for myself. This place is a hidden gem! All of the staff were welcoming and very professional. Anthony did my moms nails and made sure she was very comfortable and accommodating. Thank you! I didn't catch the woman's name who did my pedicure but she was amazing as well. Very relaxing.. My husband and I have been coming to this salon for 3 years, every January. We have been very happy with the service and will continue to come back every January. I came in for a dip fill and polish change on my toenails. I was really impressed with the quality of the work! I'm pretty picky about my nails but Anthony did a great job! He was friendly, knowledgeable and patient with my indecisiveness I am from out of town but visit frequently and will definitely come back here if I'm in need of a mani/pedi while in PS. Such a difference from the salon I've been going to near my house. This place has VERY talented and dedicated staff. I will never go back to that other place (LV). They (LV) damaged one of my nails with careless technique and I needed an acrylic patch to fix the nail. This place is like a breath of fresh air. Even looking at their fish tank brings an air of serenity. It is hard to maintain a fish tank with live plants. So anyone who can be meticulous enough to maintain a fish tank in this state definitely has my confidence. 100 percent recommend this place. read more

A fun little nail salon! I was in town for a wedding at the Ace Hotel and needed somewhere close by for a pedicure. I called when they opened and made a same day appointment for 12:15 (appointments only, no walk ins!) When I arrived it was cute to see it was all fabulous men getting their nails done - my kind of place. I decided to choose a lime green to commemorate Palm Springs, and my manicurist did a great job on my pedicure. I am so happy I chose to come to this salon after going on yelp and trying to find a perfect nail place. Anthony is amazing! Truly a nail artist. We spent a month in Palm Springs which required 2 mani/pedis. One was with another salon which was mediocre. Then I found Sunshine Nails. Trish was terrific and my nails were as nice as my regular salon in LA. Be sure to make an appt in advance but they were very accommodating. Small and intimate shop. Highly recommend. read more

Anthony asked if i wanted a copy of my receipt ... i said no he looked down and typed i owed $20 more than he told me . He said $32 for gel toes and $5 to fix a nail. Charged me $55.. i even gave him a $10 Tip... completely untrustworthy and desperate to make money salon. Clearly all the chicas doin nails are stealing this salons business! Theif! read more

Love this place. Me and my mom are visiting Palm Springs and she wanted to get pedis, at first I was hesitant because I have a specific nail tech I go to back home but we went to sunshine nail salon, it's super cute and decorative with really cool plants and nice and clean setup. Anthony did my moms and Trish did mine and they both were very accommodating, the shape of my nails were perfect, and she did an awesome job on my French tip. 10am appointment....We were visiting from out of town and hit some construction on the way to this salon. We were 8 minutes late and were told we were "SUPER LATE" and the person that was scheduled to see us took another person and essentially told us to kick rocks. Mind you there were TWO other people in the salon. Long story short this place is extremely unaccommodating and we'll never come here again. We happily went to one of the many other salons in the area and had the best experience. This place sucks ‍ read more

We are a small family owned business. We opened in April 2000 and have continued to provide nail care to our local clientele as well as many visitors who come to Palm Springs. We do accept walk-ins, but only if someone is available. Usually, we are booked with appointments so please call during business hours for an appointment. My mom (Trish), partner (Leo), I (Anthony) are available to cater to your needs.

Meet the Manager: Anthony M.

Hi there! I'm first generation American and second generation to run the salon alongside my wonderful partner. Our family's business has been here 20 years now! Despite a wonderful career in the kitchen, I came back to the salon after my father suddenly passed away to take care of our family's business. The salon is currently operated by myself, Leo my partner, and mother who opened the salon with my dad in April 2000. We are a small, local family working as one to succeed in life. I welcome you into our home as I myself, grew up in this salon.

I booked a 90 minute table massage with 3 friends and only one of us had a decent massage. As for my experience, my massage therapist did not speak English which made communicating my needs very difficult. She also did not seemed properly trained. She didn't use any type of technique other than rolling her forearm up and down my back and squeezing my shoulders and neck. When she moved to my lower body she barely used lotion and was pretty much rubbing my skin dry. She only rubbed from the knees down and she never massaged my upper legs. She then massaged my feet and went back to rubbing my upper body including my face! She put a blob of lotion on my face and started to rub it in at which point I told her to stop. She didn't understand me and I kept saying that I don't want her to touch my face and just rub my arms and neck instead. Why would I want you to touch my face after you just rubbed my feet??? My friend was also getting her massage in the same room and her massage therapist had to translate for me. He finally spoke to her and told her to stop. My friends also had bad experiences. One massage therapist was on the phone texting and taking calls during the massage. She was using one hand at times because she was holding her phone. The rest of the massage sucked. She squeezed the hell out of my shoulders and I kept asking her to go lighter but of course she didn't understand me. Now onto the premises. It's hot as hell in there as it's an old building. They have oscillating fans to keep cool. The walls don't go all the way to ceiling and you can literally hear the people as if they are in the same room. They have one small bathroom which had buckets in the sink collecting dirty water. They didn't have paper towels for drying your hands, instead they had a regular cloth towel for everyone to use. Gross! I try not to judge a book by its cover but this hole in the wall is literally that. I had hoped that the excellent reviews regarding customers' experiences would make up for the less than stellar appearance but unfortunately that's not the case. You get what you see. Unfortunately I did not get what I paid for, as it's a crime to charge as much as they do for a horrible massage. The massage chair where I get my pedicure gives better massages.

We were never informed of these additional charges beforehand. Had I known, I honestly would have declined or gone elsewhere. On top of that, the technician forgot to apply a top coat on one of my friend's toes, which shows a lack of attention to detail -- especially considering the high cost. Overall, the biggest issue for me was the lack of communication and transparency about pricing, combined with service that did not match the premium price point. Customers should be clearly informed of add-on costs before services begin.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by everyone (customers too!). Most of the time that I have gone, there's only Debra (the owner/manicurist) and Susan (my manicurist/love her!). I have been in there a couple times when one of the hair stylist are there as well, but I heard they are there by appt only. The salon is decorated cute and kept immaculately clean which is even more important now than ever! They even have fresh baked cookies that Debra's husband Dan bakes everyday! My guilty pleasure when I go. So back to my review of the salon (I was momentarily lost in my dreams of cookies, lol). Both Susan and Debra flew to Washington (state, not DC), for a week of intense training and certification for medical grade pedicures. I have yet to get one but have been there when numerous clients were thrilled with there's. Its definitely on my list and I will post a new review once I've personally tried it. Overall I strongly recommend giving this salon a try. They do get busy, so making an appointment or calling ahead is suggested. There hours have just changed and they now are open Sundays (Wednesday through Sunday).

I called and made an appointment for a mani pedi. When I arrived at the appointment time, I was told by (I am assuming the manager) that they only had time for the manicure. I again told him that I had made a mani-pedi appointment that day and confirmed that they would be able to accommodate as I was headed to an event that night. He very rudely told me that "it doesn't matter what you made an appointment for - I'm telling you we only have time for the manicure." I stupidly decided to at least get my nails done since I didn't have time to find another spot that late in the day (I made the appointment for 5:00). They cut me several times and a week later I had a swollen red infected finger. There was also a young (very poorly behaved) child (belonging to the staff) and a dog running around the salon the entire time. There are much better options. read more

This message is in response to yours, Anthony M. I did bring this to your attention and I did ask YOU to reshape my nails. When you started to reshape them, they became even more out of shape. I just wanted a simple fill and the shape to stay the same. I just thought it would be easier to go somewhere else and have them fixed. So, when you say "most people would notify anyone of management if they were unhappy," I did, and that was you. I did speak up, and it just got worse, and I had to be somewhere. Also, you seemed to be in a bad mood, to begin with, and not very friendly so it just wasn't a good experience for me. Maybe it was just an off day for you. All good now, so we can let it go. I have been fortunate enough to stumble upon this place passing through Palm Springs a few years ago. Leo and Anthony are both phenomenal and do the best work I have ever had on a mani and pedi. I can't recommend them enough. They are meticulous, personable, professional and just great guys to be around. I was visiting the Palm Springs area and called to inquire about an appointment they were able to get me in the next day. I have been getting my nails done consistently for years. This place is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to. My nails came out so beautiful and the person who did my nails really took their time and actually engaged in conversation with me. I came here last week and had one of the best manicures I've had in a long time. This salon is very clean and friendly. Also I really liked that I was given my nail file and buffer to take home with me. I also liked when she opened the sanitized implement in a sealed wrap in front of me. The absolute worst - I got an infection after they trimmed my I don't know that they sanitize their gear properly. Do not go here if you are sensitive to improperly cleansed equipment. My skin was nipped and picked at - cheap but you pay in the end. AVOID!! read more

I noticed it after the first time but they buffed it out and reassured me it was nothing. The third time going back to get my nails done, all my nails were affected, not just two. The nail lady still said it was fine and buffed out the super white patches on my toenails. After that, my husband and I took off the nail polish and made an appointment with my Podiatrist. They took samples and it came back positive for fungus. They did not take out their instruments from a sterilized pouch. It was taken from a plastic container with multiple instruments sitting in alcohol. I have more treatments ahead...every 6 weeks until gone. Be aware.
