2019 Yelp 120 Challenge - #45 I visited Modern Nails one evening after work because a nail broke earlier that day. I usually do dip nails, but I was open to switching back to gel because of the longevity of the gel. I stumbled upon Modern nails on Yelp as a recommended salon in Frisco and decided to try it out. Upon entering I was greeted by a women by the name of Anna. She was really nice and she recommended/ helped me pick out a bright Spring color. (I call it highlighter yellow). Once I picked my color, she offered me a drink and she began on my nails. I love the way she treated my hands and my nails. She wasn't rough but gentle and it reminded me of my salon in Vegas. Anna dipped my nails so well that after two weeks my nails still look like a fresh set. I returned two weeks later to get my toes done and another gentleman took his time on my toes and gave me the best massage.
I've gotten my nails done here twice now, and both times they gave me exactly what I hoped for. I've gotten my nails done by Mai and Vincent, who were both able to accurately hand paint designs from Pinterest pictures I showed them. My first set was the pink heart design done by Mai. I also brought a friend along who loved her flower nails (by Amy? I think). The pink set Mai did lasted me from 5/23 to 7/07, way longer than I was expecting. None of them fell off, only my thumb chipped around 4 weeks after I had them done. I received tons of compliments on the cute design, and one of my friends came here to get the same set done in green. I got my second set today (black flaming heart design by Vincent) as well as a pedicure. The experience was just as enjoyable as my first, and their pricing was very reasonable for such high quality work. This has become my new favorite nail place. Excellent quality, excellent service, and excellent results!

When I came to Modern Nails, though, and lucked out with Mai (nails) and Kevin (best pedicure in the DFW metroplex). Don't trip if the prices are more than what you pay at shops who do sub-par work because, trust, you are getting the primo work. I tried a couple of other places but have decided to stick with the best!
My first visit to Modern nails was pretty good! They were pretty busy when i arrived (expected near the New Years) but was not waiting too long to get seen. I just wanted something simple with a little bit of pop to it so i went with gray. Mai was very efficient when doing the dip and keeping to the shape i wanted! She was super friendly and talkative which is nice instead of a dead silence sometimes. I've searched high and low for a good nail salon in the North Texas area and I'm glad i finally found one. Will definitely be back again!
Kevin is the BEST nail artist I've EVER had do my nails! He went above and beyond to make sure not only that i was happy but that his work was perfect. I've been to countless nail salons and none compare nor come even close! Plus happy hour 9:30am-2:00pm 15% off!!!! This is going to be my regular nail salon from here on out.
Best place in frisco to get cute nails done! I have had multiple designs done here, and so far have not been disappointed once. Update 10/07/19 I still come in when I can, and I am as happy and excited with my nails as I was the first time. The nail shape and design was everything I could have asked for and more. This place never disappoints and it's definitely the best nail salon I have ever been to. I always will look forward to getting my nails done here!
I happened into this salon while I was waiting for my daughter to get through her class at Quad C. They had a good Yelp review so I decided to give them a shot. They were really attentive and you could tell that they all enjoyed working there. It seemed more like they were a family at times rather than just trying to make a dollar. They took their time and did not just rush through in order to get to the next person, which I feel my normal salon has been doing as of late. Tommy did an amazing job on my feet and even made a flower on my NexGen nails to match the flower on my toes. Anna did a great job on my fingers as well. They served mimosas on a rainy Saturday morning and gave a 15% discount as well. I will definitely be back!
I had a horrible experience at this salon !!! My review in detail was too long, so I will attach an image of it, if anyone would like to take the time and read it. Long story short I went 3 times and they messed them up every time and promised to do better the next time. Well on this third time they insulted my parenting as a mother, yelled across the salon as I was leaving that its too cold for my daughter and I should put more clothes on her. They also completely did something I didn't ask for and cut up my fingers as well, super sore the day after ! VERY RUDE PEOPLE WORKING HERE VINCENT AND "T" SPECIFICALLY.
I went here to get my nails done about a week and a half ago after breaking two nails. Mai did an amazing job! Such great attention to detail and the design was exactly what I was looking for. I showed 3 different images on pinterest about what I wanted from each and It turned out really good. They have lasted almost two weeks with no cracks or breaking at all. The ombre turned out really well (no weird lines or anything). If your looking for a place to get fun designs and crazy nails, this is the best place Ive found!

I've been a loyal customer at this salon for several months and have always booked with Lucy. Until today, I had nothing but good experiences with her she was always friendly, attentive, and did great work. Unfortunately, what happened today was completely unacceptable. From the moment I walked in, Lucy was cold, unprofessional, and barely acknowledged me. There was no greeting, no conversation, and no effort to make me feel welcome. While I understand people have bad days, there's no excuse for treating a regular client with such disregard. To make matters worse, the quality of the service was beyond disappointing. A simple French tip manicure, which should be basic for any nail technician. My service took 2 hours to complete and turned out absolutely awful. The lines are uneven, the polish is sloppy, and it looks like something I could've done myself at home. I have never left a nail appointment anywhere feeling this dissatisfied and frustrated. What's most upsetting is that I'm leaving for vacation in a couple of days and don't have time to fix this disaster. It's incredibly frustrating to pay for a service, especially from someone you've trusted for months, and be treated so poorly while walking away with nails that look worse than when you arrived. Sadly, after this experience, I won't be returning and will be taking my business elsewhere. Loyalty should be valued, and today it was made very clear that it isn't. read more

I love this salon. I discovered it last year and it's now my go-to! Love the staff, although Mai is my Gal, I don't mind anyone else don't my nails because they're all talented. It can get busy especially on the weekends or pre-holidays so I suggest calling in to make an appointment. read more

Best place in frisco to get cute nails done! I have had multiple designs done here, and so far have not been disappointed once. I payed $90 for these nails that are not only poorly done but I came in for stiletto French tips that my nail tech couldn't even do. 2/10 wouldn't recommend. read more

1st off, modern nails in frisco is an awesome nail salon, everyone is professional, super friendly and I have never had a nail tech that was not on top of their game. Vincent is my Ombre/nail art guy, there is not one request I have asked him to do that he was not able to successfully complete with the highest regard. He is Awesome with a capital A. Love my nails always. This is the place to go and if you go between 9:30 am- 2 pm M-Th you get an additional 15% off. Love love love this place! read more

This is by far the best nail salon I have ever been too. Vincent, Anna and their team are friendly, funny and very hospitable. They have all the latest nail designs and can do any design you bring in. Vincent continually wipes down chairs and equipment to ensure safety during the pandemic. They have become like family. read more

I love Modern Nails! I have been going to Vincent for the past 3 years. When he told me he was opening his own place, I followed him. The thing I like about Modern Nails is their devotion to customer service. Vincent tries to make his customers happy which is a rarity in the nail business. I was visiting Plano for a Summit and one of my SNS dipped nails was broken. I HAD to get my ratchet nail fixed! Hence, my nail salon search began! Modern Nails was recommended in a review as an alternate salon for another one that had recently had a fire. I called first to ensure I could get an appointment and was told to come on in! It was a Tues. night and I was relieved when I arrived and was the only customer. :-) Mai took me right away...I picked colors after a few moments-it took me a little time to decide, there were over 1000 colors! AND they also had some new chrome and sugar glitter options that were pretty. Mai was so personable and friendly. When she found out I was visiting from out-of-town, she provided a glowing recommendation that I get a foot massage at the parlor next door. She was so enthusiastic about how wonderful the massage was that I wondered if she was getting a kick back for sending customers over. I found out she didn't, she just thought the foot massage was so great that she genuinely wanted me to experience it too. Lol Anyhoo, she did a great job on my nails! She added a tip to my broken nail, free of charge! After applying the dip powder, she took her time to ensure my nails were shaped the way I liked. I'm so pleased with my nails! And she was fast! Once my nails were done, I mentioned that I liked Thai food and she gave me a great recommendation for a place to eat. Her helpfulness was really disarming and highly appreciated. Oh I forgot to mention that I was offered a variety of drinks and settled on a margarita! It was a real margarita-I could actually taste the alcohol! :) Not sure if I've ever been offered anything besides wine/mimosas in DC. I don't drink much but if you do, this is another plus! Anyhoo, I recommend modern nails and would definitely return if I need my nails done again while I'm in Plano. read more

This used to be our favorite place until we went over the weekend. Our nails were butchered. My husband and I both have infections on our big toes and we are both in pain. The massage was non-existent and I had to complain about my manicure to make it right. We will be disputing the charge. We didn't get what we paid for including skin infections. read more

I've never rated a nail salon until I experienced the wonderful services at Modern Nails. Vincent listened patiently with a smile to what I wanted. He was friendly and kind during the entire time. My services were full-set nexgen on my hands, modern pedicure, full-set acrylics on my toes. Well, let me say Vincent came through for me in a big way. He's a master of his craft. He pays attention to detail. The smallest thing he sees not right, he fixes it for perfection. I paid good money for all my services and will do so again. Vincent is that man!!!! Upset is an understatement. DO NOT GET YOUR EYEBROWS TINTED OR WAXED HERE! Their menu said eyebrow tinting was $8, tried to charge me $20. You also have to pay an extra $12 for waxing. Not to mention she burned me with the wax! Uneven, unprofessional, clown looking brows. Take my advice, skip the brow services. read more

I've lived in Frisco for over a decade and haven't been inclined to write a review for a nail salon until now. I am extremely impressed with the quality of work done by Vincent at modern nails. I've been getting NexGen done on my nails for years, most techs just rush through the process leaving bumps and mis-shaped nails. This was 100% NOT the case at Modern Nails. Vincent took his time to find the perfect color for my ombré nails. He even tested it before applying it to make sure it was the exact shade that I wanted. Not only did the color come out perfect but the shape was so pretty and was perfectly even! I could go on but I'll let the picture show you just how beautiful they came out. 2 weeks later and they still look great. If the quality of the work continues like this, they will continue to have my business for years to come! read more

I always am hesitant to try a new place but I have been interested in trying this salon. I absolutely loved it! Tommy did my nails and was wonderful! He was gentle and took his time and didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience (which happens 50% of the time when I get my nails done.) everyone should try it! They just opened and are doing 15% off, which I'm not sure how long will be going on so come ASAP! read more

Hi Linda. We currently have Happy Hours 15% discount on total of your services that runs Mon-Thurs before 2pm. We also have coupons in Ad Pages and the back of Kroger receipt at Preston & Rolater location. We also accept local competitors coupons.
Are the acrylic nails 30$ with tip or without and how much are gel nails?
Acrylic full set is $30. No extra for tips. Nexgen dipping powder is $35. Tips are $5 extra. Thanks
