Winter is coming, so it was time to clean my gutters. My gutters were clogged, and many of the gutter guards were damaged from years of do-it-myself cleanings. This is my first time giving a review but I couldn't have picked a better company to provide feedback for. Ivan and his team repaired my parents' roof back in August 2017 and did a fantastic job. I made an appointment with Ivan for an inspection and estimate for the roof repairs. He provided us with a reasonable estimate. Excellent service! A portion of our flat roof was leaking into our garage after a storm came through. I called Ivan at Peninsula Roofing. He was able to send his team out within a week to repair the old tar and gravel with newer composite roof material. The result is that we have a durable roof with a twenty year warranty in place. Ivan did come to my house in the Sunset and got on my roof for an inspection and quote. The price was right and he and his team showed up Monday morning, as promised to replace my roof. They worked solid through Wednesday, early afternoon and finished as promised. Some issues came up with rotted boards, damaged drains and rusted metal on the skylights. They were replaced and the rust on the skylights was scraped, rust primed and painted. Ivan did honor the quoted price, even though there was additional work done. They did clean up after finishing up. There is a 10 year warranty on the roof work. I would recommend Peninsula Roofing. read more

Ivan and his crew came to my house last Fall to repair three leaks and make the roof watertight. Leak # 1 was around a chimney and I asked Ivan to do whatever he needed to do to make it watertight. He assured me that he had. However, a few weeks later, a chimney repair man climbed on the roof and took a photograph of the supposedly "repaired area. It did not look repaired at all! There were several areas that should have been caulked that were not and consequently the leak is still there. Leak # 2 has returned with a vengeance, so much so, that a gentle press on the wall around the bubbled paint resulted in a hole in the drywall. there is now a major hole in the wall that follows the path of the water that is leaking down with every rain shower. I have tried to contact Ivan to come back but there is no response. In the meantime, the water damage piles up. Very disappointing. read more

A row of roof files blew off after a storm and it was difficult in the beginning to find someone to come out within a few days. Gustavo came out within a reasonable amount of time and took time to assess the roof beyond the missing tiles. In the recent rains, I heard the dreaded "tap" sound coming from our attic. Realized we had 5 leaks around the chimney. While I was up in the attic, my wife looked around on Yelp and found Peninsula Roofing. I called up the number and talked to Ivan. He was also able to schedule the repair to be done in less than 2 weeks (during a break in the rain). Wow, what service... On a Sunday afternoon, I was dismayed to find from my neighbor that a section of my roofing tiles had blown off. With out even thinking of the day I called Gustavo based on reviews here...he politely told me it was a Sunday and to call him back tomorrow...I with some embarassment I did so and was told he could come first thing Wednesday. On Tuesday he called and asked he could do the work that afternoon, as he heard it might rain in the next couple of of days, and now there he is with his guy, working away. What I liked was he told me that he could fix it adequately for "x" number of dollars, or the "right way" for "y" dollars. He understood we are preparing to sell our home, so might have a price consideration in mind. I opted for the "right way" and am confident that it will be done so. A primo contractor. Our homeowners association has used Gustavo Reyes and his crew several times, for projects on our four-unit building as well as in our individual units. He has always been forthright about the work and expenses involved, and he has never tacked on extra costs once he starts the job as so many contractors do. The largest project has been replacing the roof over one of our units, plus replacing two medium-size decks that were worn and unstable. His estimates were much lower than those of any other contractors we contacted, and he finished all the projects within a day or two. He made it clear from the outset that building decks is not his specialty, but we are very happy with the costs and the results. I have also used him for smaller projects in my unit, including replacing an entrance door. Again, Gustavo said from the outset that roofing is more his specialty, but he did the work promptly and efficiently. I'm very pleased with Gustavo and his crew, and I recommend them highly.
