Unfortunately our experience was not great but worked out in the end. The project manager, Habibi was very friendly and responsive to all our issues. Unfortunately, there were many of them. They delayed our project twice without explanation. The labor team quit mid project. They knocked on our door and said they were quitting bc Express Roofing was not paying them. Then called the police to our home claiming they were unpaid. Despite saying they wouldn't, both teams walked and ran on our neighbors roofs which affected our relationship with them. They left a GIANT mess in our front and back yard. Damaged some of the plants in our garden by throwing debris down. They broke our sky light (they did replace it). Then our roof leaked after the first rain less than a week after completion. They left tar stains on our freshly painted white home. We had to call several times for them to fix issues that seemed obvious and should not have required us constantly calling as they came up. I'm grateful that Habibi fixed the above issues but like I said, there were many. I'm hoping there are no more leaks as our rainy season starts. I will update. read more

From our initial contact to when the crew wrapped up, the Roof Express team provided excellent service. They are very professional, diligent, and WELL priced. Our house was newly renovated when we bought it in 2019 but we discovered by 2024 that the roof was very NOT new and that the contractors that renovated our house simply slapped on new shingles on a very old roof. After heavy rains we discovered a small leak in our attic. We worked with Habibi to get an honest assessment. We recently hired Roof Express for our full roof replacement of our existing tar and gravel roof, and we're very happy with the results! From the initial consultation, Nav was on time, respectful, knowledgeable, and strong communicator. Nav provided a clear and fair estimate, and answered our questions. They got all the permits and did a very good job. The job turned out to be more extensive due to the very poor condition of the structure under the old roof material but they adapted and charged me a fair price for the additional work. They documented their work with photos that I could pass to my insurance company and met with me personally on the roof for an initial estimate. One thing to note, we contacted a total of 3 roofers for this project. One roofer stated we needed our entire roof redone. Discovered a leak after a recent storm and needed a roofing specialist to evaluate my roof ASAP. Used Yelp to identify roofing companies and 5 companies responded. Out of all of them, Roof Express was available the same day and was able to come out and inspect my roof. The company is owned by Abosufian Merzayee and I think he previously did alot of roof insulations / attic clean ups. Then he repivoted his company to do roofing and also has a construction license in case add'l work is needed for the home. Nav was patient and explained the cause of my leaks immediately. One of his guys also went into my attic crawlspace and shared a few pictures to indicate where the leak was coming from and confirming it was the area that Nav idnetified on the roof. Nav was thorough and was able to provide me a quote by the end of the day. Another roofing company had loosened a skylight on my roof by mistake while fixing a different skylight. I could tell it was drafty in the room with the skylight, but I didn't have a ladder or the expertise to know if something serious was wrong or not. Habibi came and told me he was happy to help me figure it out, no matter whether it was a small or big issue. He went on my roof with me and figured out that there was a control on the skylight that could be tightened, and went up on his ladder from inside the house to tighten it, solving the issue. I offered to pay to make the visit worth his time, but he refused, saying that if I was happy, he was happy. I requested a quote from Roof Express to replace a 15' X 8' roof over the first floor kitchen of my rental property. The job was complicated by the fact that the roof abutted three wooden walls, all of which were deteriorating at their base. After receiving the initial Roof Express quote, I asked their Inspector, Habibi, to come out a second time to discuss how the deteriorating wooden siding would be repaired and to request that redwood be used for replacement of the deteriorating siding to match the existing redwood used in the construction of this old early 20th century building. On March 3 the Inspector returned to my rental property to answer my inquiries about repair of the wood siding and to assure me that redwood would be used. He then scheduled the repair job for March 7 at 8:00am. His crew showed up punctually (and early!) at 7:30am and completed the job by 1:00pm, including immaculate carpentry work in replacing the deteriorating wood siding, seamless insertion of the underlying metal flashing on each of the three sides of the roof where it interfaced with the wood siding, replacement of the existing shingles, and a spotless cleanup job. Habibi kept me apprised of the progress of the job during the day. In all, a very impressive Company in responding to my request for a quote, following up with a request for detailed information about the proposed work, and expeditious completion of the roofing job requested. I worked with Habibi to get my flat roof replaced due to persistent leaking with all of SF's recent atmospheric rivers. Habibi walked through my house and after some discussion we agreed that a new roof would make the most sense. During a heavy rain in February my roof began leaking. The roof is near the end of its useful life and should be replaced in about two or three years. My preference is to defer its replacement and accompanying high cost for at least two years. Therefore, I wanted to limit the roof project to just enough repair to stop the leak. I explained my preferences to each of the four companies' project managers who came to examined the roof and gave me estimates for roof repair. Only Roof Express's project manager Lev listened and understood what work I wanted done and gave me a roof repair estimate for stopping the leak of $3,800. Of the three others, one claimed there were other leaks in the attic and suggested total re-roofing now, one claimed the front half of the roof containing the leak needed immediate replacement, the third one wanted to replace a large part of the roof that I doubted would stop the leak. Lev came with his crew the morning after I asked him to do the roof repair. They finished the repair a little after noon. When I bought the house 11 1/2 months ago it came with a one-year warrantee that included roof repair. For me to claim its re-imbursement funds, Lev had to fill out a Contractor's Roof Diagnosis Form from the warranting company quickly before the expiration date. He did this diligently and gave me the completed form as they started working. I was able to submit it to the warranting company and obtain its maximum limited coverage of $1,400, a significant chunk of repair costs.
