I called in to schedule an appointment in the mid-May, and I told them very clearly I have Tricare dental and asked them if they accept Tricare. I showed up and checked in, then the front desk asked me to pay $100 copay, I told them Tricare covers 100% on the annual exam and x-ray and cleaning twice a year. Then they told me oh we are NOT in the Tricare network and you need to pay a copay $100! WHAT!!! WHY DID NOT TELL ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME???!!!! I said then I do not want to proceed with the appointment and about to walk out, the manager saw that I was about to leave, she said oh I can just bill your insurance and waive the copay, since you are already here, I do not want to turn you away. We will just do the x-ray and you can take the images to another dental which is in the network. I accepted and proceeded with the x-ray. I was SO WRONG!! I really really should have left! Later of the day I found another dentist on Tricare Dental Program website and called them and told them what happened earlier today. I was told that: 1) they would need to do their own full mouth X-ray and not accepting what other dentist has done due to liability 2) Tricare only covers full mouth x-ray once every year, I would need to pay out of pocket for the second one. This place wants to make money so bad that they totally abused my insurance coverage! They knew clearly I had Tricare and they could not do any cleaning or needed treatment for me! Even they waived the $100 copay but they submitted $$$ claim to my insurance! Yeah, they got paid from insurance! Now I have to pay for another X-ray out of pocket! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING PLACE!!!

I left a message Thursday evening. I got a call back first thing Friday morning and was able to be seen that day. Dr. Eck and his team made me feel comfortable and not shamed for my lack of dental care over the years. (Strahler was the previous owner, and before that, Penshorn to clear up confusion in how it may be listed on Google, and Dr. Penshorn still works there ). They assisted me through the process of applying for Care Credit and Alphaeon so I could pay for my services, emailing the links to make it quick and easy. I chose to get a full set of x-rays done (but I had the option to do a limited exam for only my problem tooth if I preferred or had limited funds). I'll be coming back in one week to get my temporary crown & deep cleaning, and 4 weeks later I'll get my permanent crown, which is porcelain, not silver, so I can still have a confident smile. They are all very personable, friendly, welcoming, and real. Every person. I have complete confidence in this team and the dentist to give me the best care. The office is clean and inviting. They offer complimentary products to brush your teeth in the lobby bathroom before your appointment (if you so wish) so you don't feel embarrassed coming in after lunch. As frustrating as i was at myself, i put hope into them to let me know everything that was going on with my mouth in order for them and myself to do the necessary work to get my mouth in a healthy state. I go all summer 2026 taking off from work, getting cleanings, etc. Then one day after i got my cleaning, i chewed down on the left side of my mouth, and it felt i went into the twilight zone. It was the most excruciating pain ive felt. I no longer can chew/eat on my left side because it felt like zings every time. So, i told my dentist and they scheduled me for some fillings. I walked in letting them know the pain. The front desk wanted me to pay first for two fillings on my left side. In my mind, i felt it was more than just two fillings that would elevate the pain. So, when i go to the back to speak to the hygienist, he was super incompetent and literally wanted me to show him the tooth that was bothering me. I'm like don't you have my chart in front of you!? It's not just a tooth, it's two teeth on my left side. So they do exams again and my dentist comes in telling me i need a root canal! I was like "A root canal!" I said "why didn't you tell me that at the beginning of the summer bc i didn't see that in my original exams" she tells me "well we didn't see it in your exams" I'm so frustrated and confused at the low technology they have and incompetence they lack. So, they recommend me to an Endo who is out of my network. I then take it upon myself to find Aspen Dental who not only has an Endo who is within my network, but I can also find a dentist here. I read reviews on Aspen, and i was nervous at first bc there were a lot of mix reviews. However, the women at the front including Ashley and Evelyn were soooooo welcoming and made me feel comfortable. As a black woman, i actually felt heard bc sometimes in the medical environments we're pushed aside for our pain. Dr. Haagan was thorough with me, told me what they saw and turns out i actually need 3 root canals. My last dentist office never told me this so i was glad Aspen Dental just let me know in detail EVERYTHING instead of half the story of my mouth. She frequently talked over me and cut me off before I could finish my questions or receive clear answers. That kind of interaction is frustrating and not what you expect from someone running the front office of a dental practice. There was also a communication issue during the appointment. The hygienist was not informed that I was receiving orthodontic treatment, so the cleaning was started without removing the braces first, which should have been addressed beforehand. That said, the back office staff was great. The hygienist was very informative and took time to educate me on proper care and how often certain treatments should be done. The doctor and orthodontic staff were also excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Overall, the clinical care itself was solid, but the front office experience and communication need improvement, as they set the tone for the entire visit.

I refused to pay it as I had to pay $4k out of pocket to fix what they messed up. So they try and take me to small claims for it. My lawyer ended up settling the case but it has Long since (about 4 years) cause damages to my teeth I'm still trying to have fixed, and let's not mention the PTSD of having to go to ANY dentist. 10/10 don't recommend if you care about your mouth, money, and long term mental health when it comes to the dentist.

Having just completed a disastrous kitchen remodel with a known big box company that refused to take responsibility and get things done right, I am beyond impressed and owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Blaine. He was entirely committed to my mom getting comfortable dentures. Dental care is critical to something even more than aesthetics. It is vital to getting proper nutrition. The detailed work it takes is critical. I watched Dr. Blaine and his staff work at mom's comfort over and over until it was right. I had this dentist install 2 implants, lower molars 1 on each side…read more They did good with 1 molar but failed on the second one. The tooth they used was too small but they installed it anyway. I complained about the tooth packing with food every time I ate anything. Because it was too small, food filled the gaps on both sides every time. It looks like a child's tooth in my mouth. They refused to do anything about it. I have to go to another dentist to have this corrected. You know the old saying you get what you pay for, it applies here. Then I requested a crown to be placed on 1 of my upper molar's which was giving me some discomfort. This dentist identified this chipped molar prior to me, keep this in mind. The dentist refused to place a crown on the molar unless I pay for teeth cleaning first, my teeth are pearl white. They just wanted to make more money. The cleaning was a scam as far as I'm concerned. This outfit needs to be reported for its poor business practices, and refusing medical attention to a tooth in need. In a nutshell, this is a 50/50 dentist at best. They just want your money, this is not quality dentistry. You get what you pay for, poor quality and service.
