Had the pleasure of talking to Samsun, who went above and beyond in scheduling me an appointment for Covid. I work in the medical field as well and he quickly understood my need for a periodical test to keep others including myself, safe. He was patient and was fortunately able to get me a same-day appointment. I arrived at the facility which was quite clean on the outside and arrived at a time when there wasn't a lot of activity. I've been to many good urgent care facilities but Modern Urgent Care blew them all out of the water. From having the most attentive staff to very knowledgable health care providers. There is little to no wait time to be seen, the facility is very clean and smells clean and Dr. AJ was awesome! Dr. AJ will listen to all your concerns and makes sure you get the best help you need. I went to this location for an urgent health problem around 4:15 PM on Monday. After checking in, it took approx. 30 minutes to be taken to a room and another 15-20 minutes to be seen - standard. The facility itself was clean and staff were pleasant. The doctor was attentive, humorous and listened. (+1 star) I explained that I did not have insurance and so he prescribed me medications that "shouldn't be too expensive". Once at the pharmacy, I learned one of the medications would be $50 and the other $16. Because I was in so much pain, desperate for relief and had already been waiting there for an hour, I reluctantly paid and went home. Over the next 24-48 hours, I started experiencing painful side effects from this medication. I called the clinic earlier this morning and was told that because the doctor who saw me was not there and they can not reach him, I'd have to be re-seen by the doctor on duty in order to get a prescription change. Considering I'm paying out of pocket, I did not have an extra $129 to pay for another visit just to get a prescription that wouldn't give me terrible, painful side effects. After breaking down into tears, the doctor on duty said they would make an exception and send in a different prescription. (+1 star) Said prescription cost $8 as opposed to the $50 I had just wasted two days prior on something I'd never taken or heard of before. This location appears to be great for individuals with insurance. For those without, proceed with caution. The visit fee starts at $129 and god forbid there's an issue with your medication (side effects, etc.), they want you to come back in and fork out another $129 because apparently it is YOUR problem that the same doctor that saw you isn't in. My reactions to the initial prescribed medication were so bad, I'm wondering if the pharmaceutical company bribes and/or pays the doctor to prescribe it despite how terrible it is. Needless to say, I will not be back and will find another location for urgent care needs. read more

i've been here six times (for both myself and my child) since moving to the area a year and a half ago, and I can honestly say that my experience has been nothing but exceptional. From scheduling an online appointments, to check in and being seen by the doctor I have experienced nothing but professionalism. Staff is always friendly and courteous, asking all the right questions and truly listening to me. . I've been in two times this past week, and each time I saw a different Doctor (which is expected given that it is an urgent care). Non the less, each doctor completely listened to me, answered all my questions, and were very thorough in their exams and took the necessary time to explain the course of care they were prescribing and why. Last year when I got bronchitis, they were my first go to, given my experience during my prior visit and imagine my surprise when less that 48hours later I received a phone call from the office staff asking how I was doing and if I needed anything else GENUINE CARE, CONCERN, FOLLOW-THRU AND PROFESSIONALISM AT ITS BEST. Like I said, previously my experiences have been nothing but exceptional and it is all because of the staff, and their genuine concern and care. I was amazed by the this urgent care! My husband had a laceration to his finger and nail and stitched it right up! Very profesional medical office. Mind you my husband is terrified of needles and he had to get a tetanus shot and get numb to get stitches. They totally understood that and treated him with respect and dignity. AJ the Physician Assistant did a fantastic job and made a huge difference in making my husband feel as relaxed as possible. Highly recommended this urgent care! read more

I've taken my son there a few times. Each time they are quick and very helpful. I love that they give him medicine there to have him get started on meds ASAP. They are patient and caring. So my girlfriend has taken two PCR test in the last two days, one earlier today which were all negative. She goes in here just to get sinus medication and is denied access until she takes their test? She showed the two PCR tests but wasn't allowed in the building until they tested her?? I've used a number of Urgent Care centers in the Modesto/Ceres area but I have to say that none compare to Modern Urgent Care when it comes to care and compassion. From the staff on the frontlines to the Manager and Providers, they just get it. They know how to give medical care and make it personal. It's like you've known them forever. Dr Jhatu stitched my face up after a pretty gnarly sports accident. The check in process was fast. We did wait quite a while in the room to be see but the care was excellent. Refused to do a Covid test. Said headaches weren't a symptom but yet it's listed on their questionnaire as a symptom. Their worker, James, has a very bad attitude and actually hung up on me. Said they were an urgent care facility not a Covid site. But yet again, they offer testing. Maybe he needs to educate himself on what they actually do there. This So called Modern Urgent Care should be upfront with patients! We waited for two hours to get a COVID19 test only to be told they are only given three tests a day. Apparently the provider plays God for a day and gets to choose who he/she provides the test too. This is completely ridiculous, so now the insurance will be charged for an urgent care visit. I was turned away at 5:45 pm even though the website says they take their last patient at 6:30 pm, and are open until 7. Was told it was 'up to the individual providers when they stop taking patients for the day' even though I never saw a provider and explained I had driven a far distance as this is the urgent care that takes my insurance. They wouldn't even let me in the door. When I tired to call the office phone number, it's totally disconnected from them saying there is a 'high call volume' and there are no operators available. The automated message they DO have on the phone also says they are taking walk ins for normal urgent care. read more

My daughter went to Modern this morning. Not only did the doctor handle the reason she went but as they talked he figured out something. She's s been going to doctor's and specialist for the last 6 months and today he ran a simple test that no one had and discovered what was wrong. She told me that this is the only doctor she wants to go is this one. No one has taken the time to give her the attention she needed until today. I got here at 1:45 for a rapid covid testing, the website said to park and turn on hazards, which I did. About 15 minutes later I ask the front lady what I'm supposed to do and she said to wait in my car and she'd be with me shortly. Well I've been here almost an hour now and the lady is helping every person except me, people who came after me and all. I had an appointment and I have to wait for those who didnt? And on top of that, The phone number they have on google is wrong, and the numbers for the other urgent care locations are also WRONG. How can a urgent care be so stupid read more

The reason I gave it a one star is because I called Modern urgent care at 9:30 am to schedule an appt for my sick daughter that missed school with a really bad sore throat and her tonsils super swollen, they gave me a 4:30 appt,which I arrived on time, they passed me to the room after 1 hour in the waiting room, once we were in private room waiting for a professional to come and check my daughter, after what I felt we just got dumped in there and completely forgotten..... after another hour sitting and nobody ever came in,not to even tell us that the provider would be in shortly or anything so dissapointed .....so we walked out and told them to cancel the appt ,but what made me more upset was , all the people with no "appointment" was seing before my daughter nobody was left in waiting room ! I called on Friday to get some information about this clinic and see if they took my insurance. I spoke with Angela and she was super friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately, they don't take Kaiser insurance but if I am ever unable to make it to my doctor, I wouldn't mind paying out of pocket to be seen here! This Place says it closes at 7 PM. I show up at exactly 630 and the girl behind the counter tells me she just took her last patient at 6:30! I said since it's still 630 will you take my daughter as your last patient and she said no! To say the least I'm angry that I drove all the way to this place my daughter met me there and she could not see a doctor. If a business says they close at seven then that's when they should be able to have their last patient seen! This is crap and I will not go here again. read more

This place USE to be my go to place. Took my 3 year old daughter in because she has a really bad cough. Even the nurse assistant said. Literally waited a little over 2 hours which I'm usually out within 1 hour. It was not busy at all!!! The worst urgent care in this town. Their staff is super rude and unprofessional. They disrespected my family and this is not the first time it happened. That is why I'm forced to leave a review. Someone needs to take an action against this. They treat patients very badly and especially patients who doesn't speak English. I'm very disappointed and will not be coming back. I will be telling my family and friends about this. Very sad to see how they are running their business. Staff is super RUDE. My brother was seen at this urgent care. I was on the call and heard everything. Robert was very unprofessional and rude. My underage brother was in the room when Robert walked in and verbally attacked. My underage brother was traumatised by this experience. This is unacceptable and someone needs to take action against this type of behaviour . And Robert stated *if your unhappy go somewhere else* what kind of doctor are you? You shouldn't be working and taking care of patients and underage children with this attitude. I'm very disappointed. I will never be coming back. It is very sad to see how their whole staff is treating minors like that especially in this pandemic. When people need healthcare workers the most. I've had to visit this urgent care three times (initial visit and two follow ups) in the last five days due to a serious infection. Each time, from the front office staff to the nursing staff to the providers, every single one of them was amazing!
