He was very friendly and patient. He helped us pick out a variety of interesting oils and vinegars. He was also very insightful in sharing pairings that would work great for our upcoming wedding rehearsal. We then worked with Debbie who went out of her way and provided us superior service as she put together our favors. She was very patient with out requests and very kind. We were impressed with the presentation of the pairings. Debbie also went out of her way to ensure the items would arrive safely and packaged each pair individually with bubble wrap and zip lock bags. I told him that I photograph lobsters and said that I don't eat them. Michael was completely attentive, enthusiastic and engaging. Aside from the most hospitable welcome, the deli attendant was quite helpful. That particular Hannaford's has a much warmer, cleaner and calm ambiance than does the Hannaford's where I live in Sanford. My visit to your Madbury Hannaford's makes me want to live in that community. It was the kind of positive experience that makes me feel welcome in a community. I recently saw Michael out and about in Dover, NH and he remembered me. I plan to relocate to the Madbury area. Wonderful!

If you're trying to find Indian and Pakistani groceries in the seacoast area, this might be the store you've been looking for. I can find my way around the dal and some of the spices, but this store is amazing. I picked up some Tikha Gathiya to snack on later, some Panch Puran to experiment with, and a can of Foul Moudammas just because the name was interesting. I'm not bragging, I'm reading this stuff off the labels and I bought things that looked like I'd like them. There was a ton of stuff in there that I couldn't even begin to guess at and next time I go, I'm bringing my camera, taking pictures of the labels, and then looking it all up on Google when I get home. They also say that they have Halal meats including Goat and Lamb, but I didn't see any in the refrigerated cases. Maybe it was in the back but I didn't ask because we already had a few days of food at home in the fridge. If the stuff in this store is as good as I hope it is, I'll be giving this store 5 stars. If you're experimental or you know something about South Asian and Middle Eastern foods, visit Taj Mahal Groceries. I want these guys to stay in business for a long, long time. Quick update (6/29/11): I finished the Gathiya, make some amazing Brussel Sprouts with a little crushed Panch Puran, and the can of Foul Moudammas is likely to be the foundation of tonight's dinner.
