It's really nice inside and out. There's lots of parking but a random cauld-a-sac when you first enter on the main road. So try to avoid going in there, lots of parking in the main lot. Our service was nice but we had a big group and the food came out trickling with long waits. I know the new but definitely could improve here. Good food and nice ambiance. read more

I had a Caesar salad and some sides. The mashed potatoes were especially delicious. People I ate with had the salmon and the chicken. Both of them loved their meals. Our server, Mitchell was very attentive, and we felt very well taken care of by all of the staff. We sat outside, but it was in the shade so the temperature wasn't bad at all. It was actually a cool experience to eat right below silos. The place looks like it would be a great venue for a nightclub with lots of outdoor seating. We stopped by the Modesto Silos during their soft opening, and it was such a lovely experience. Soft openings always have a few bumps, but what stood out most was how genuinely attentive and welcoming the staff was. They had already run out of cocktail menus, but our server didn't miss a beat. She happily walked us through every cocktail option from memory, and her enthusiasm made it easy to decide. We shared the asparagus and the Brussels sprouts. The asparagus was cooked perfectly--tender with just the right amount of bite. The Brussels sprouts were good, though I think they could use just a little more zing. But considering this was a soft opening, that's exactly the kind of fine-tuning you'd expect. I'm already looking forward to coming back for dinner to try their entrées. Our server also raved about their morning strawberry matcha, saying it's "over the moon," so that's definitely on my list for my next visit. After trying to have a group brunch at another spot and having to wait an hour to get seated we decided to instead give this place a try. And we're so glad we did! As soon as we walked in our waitress (a pretty Latina woman) started moving tables around to accommodate our party of 12. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The husband and I came here on a date night. The ambiance is incredible. It reminded me of a place that would be in NYC downtown. The drinks were great, the food, out of this world. The menu is still growing, and I can't wait to come back to try the other items. The owner came over and introduced himself, which was awesome! I ordered the fajita quesadilla. Hubs had the "Silos Ices Oatmilk Shaken Espresso," 2-thumbs up! I had their Cortado..... ¡muy delicisoso! So much to see there in the architecture... my eyes roamed the interior during our whole visit. The staff is AMAZING and so welcoming...instantly felt like family. I came up with some friends from LA and this place was such a gem. The ambiance and environment of the place is very cool but still chill. Everyone who assisted us was so kind and helpful. They answered any questions we had about the menu and were very considerate about our time here. We came for breakfast and the food was so good. The chilaquiles were honestly so perfect. My friends and I wanted to check out this place if just for the uniqueness of the space. Cool venue! We came for dinner and sat inside. It was warm and not too comfortable. The entrance did seem a little confusing but a hostess came to seat us. Our party had the blackened salmon and ribeye and we enjoyed it very much. It was tasty and well presented. For dessert we shared the churros and the chocolate cake. Both were delicious; nothing too special or different though. My friend had the spritz to drink and she liked it enough as it was refreshing. Staff personable and attentive and a man (probably owner, manager or chef????) checked in with us to see how our meals and experience was. I'd like to come back for breakfast/brunch. We tried to give this place a chance, but the experience was incredibly disorganized. We sat there for over 10 minutes without any service at all. A waitress made eye contact with us twice and literally walked right past us both times without acknowledging us. At that point, we decided to leave. The menu wasn't particularly exciting either, so there wasn't much reason to stick around and wait. We ended up going to Camp 4 instead, and honestly, it was the better decision. We ordered chilaquiles & Huevos Rancheros, specifically told the waitress no REFRIED BEANS on the Huevos Rancheros as we don't eat pork. I noticed a young man bring out our food to the couple at the bar. The bartender told the young man that the food was for us. He placed the plates on the table, I asked him for some utensils at which time, he took his bare hands & got us the proper utensils w/ no napkins. Chilaquiles was pretty good, the Huevos Rancheros had REFRIED BEANS, we told our waitress who politely showed us she wrote on our order NO REFRIED BEANS. She apologized & took the meal back & several minutes later returned w/ a new meal by then I had finished my meal. She didn't charged us for either meals. Just left Modesto Silos today (8/9/26). We've noticed that consistency varies depending on who is in the kitchen. During their second week open, we had an incredible burger--stacked with fresh ingredients and bacon--and fantastic fries. Hands down, it was the best in Modesto. ​Unfortunately, today felt like a completely different chef was on duty. Both the burger and the portion of fries were noticeably smaller and taste and freshness changed and didn't match the quality of our first visit. Hoping they can nail down the consistency, because when it's good, it's unbeatable. So we asked what changed and they said that they had a different chef, they said the second week of the opening they had a different chef that wasn't there today. Consistency matters!!! read more

Love the location and history of The Silos. Service was fantastic, and everyone was super friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the culinary direction feels completely uninspired. The blackened salmon came paired with mango salsa and mashed potatoes, which felt like a zero-effort, bizarre combination. The Silo Burger was equally underwhelming and low effort. Everything felt like a default decision by someone who didn't know any better. On top of that, the décor feels like an odd mix of brutalism filled with cheap modern fixtures. I had lunch here with a few of my friends today. I was less than impressed. First of all, there is only 1 handicap parking space. As someone who uses a walker to walk I'm aware of the need for handicap parking. I think the parking lot is technically a school parking lot. The lunch menu is VERY limited. Three of us received food that was too spicy - even for someone who likes spicy. We were the only ones on the bottom floor. I don't know how many people were upstairs because the only way to get there is by the stairs. The service was terrible. The wait staff seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than making sure we were taken care of. One waitress was observed eating behind the bar. It took forever for us to get our food. My lunch came about 10 minutes after everyone else and I just ordered nachos. The waitress never checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed. Then, while we were eating, they decided to mop the floor right by our table - big yellow bucket and mop and all. The smell was not appetizing. One of us ordered a refill of lemonade. They kept bringing her water, never explaining the lemonade machine was broken since her first glass. It took some time to get someone's attention to ask for a to-go box. I paid my bill with a credit card. The waitress used her hand-held machine. She showed me the screen to select the tip. I selected 3% because of the poor service. When I got my receipt - which I had to ask 2 twice - it showed a 20% tip automatically added, in addition to my tip, because there were 7 of us (a large party). So why then was she asking for an additional tip? They have a long way to go come up to par to be customer focused. I'm not sure I will bother to go back. read more
