I have to say how unhappy I am. I thought this was the right place for us. Its clearly not. You try…read moreto call the property, no answer, then they call you back, your in a meeting that you can't get away from, AND ALL BECAUSE THEY keep sending me a link and email to PAY A BILL THAT I ALREADY PAID!!! I wish I would have selected another company. The location is ok, overpriced if you have to deal with bad customer service or relations. Been renting there several months now. And never had such issues with billing until now. I have one month where they charged me twice. Be careful. The area is definitely sketchy.

Good Lord - I know better than to use a business without considering reviews, but I jumped on this…read morebecause it was so convenient and boy do I regret it! We got our unit on-line (easy to set up) and moved 1load into our 2nd floor unit. We noticed at the time that only 1 elevator was working and the other was just filthy and torn up- and yet we ignored the red flags. On the second trip on the day, neither elevator would work. We are now on Day 2.... stuff sitting in the back of our truck in a parking garage overnight and still NO ELEVATOR. Like most people who are moving, we are on a pretty tight schedule and this is not part of the plan. After multiple calls, we finally spoke to someone - no first floor units available at this facility so they're checking others. Great. Maybe we can get a unit at another facility, further from us, AND we will have to move our first load a second time.... Once the elevator is fixed. I'm giving an extra star here because of the code to get in the doors and the code to use (or attempt to use) the elevators. AVOID!!

I do not recommend this place. My son and I drove in to get a few things out of a storage unit…read more Everything was going fine until we tried to leave. The way the exit is set up makes it difficult to punch in your code and then make it out of the gate quickly. It's set up where you have to punch in the code, make a sharp right turn, then a sharp left turn to get out, and the whole time you're trying not to hit anything. So we punched in the code, the gate arm went up, we started driving out, and then all the sudden the arm came down onto the hood of my truck. It actually hit my truck. We backed up. Within 10 seconds a guy came rushing out yelling at me, saying we hit the gate. I couldn't believe he was saying "WE" hit the gate. Their gate closed onto my vehicle, not the other way around. Then a lady (apparently the manager) came out and we went around and around as to who was at fault. They were pushing extremely hard on me to accept that we were at fault. It felt strange, but I didn't realize what they were doing. They said we would have to pay them $100; however, not only was it not our fault, there was no damage to their gate. They also said they may contact their corporate office and that they take these things very serious. I made it very clear that I wasn't going to pay them anything and that we did nothing wrong. Then all of the sudden their behavior towards me completely changed. They were shaking my hand, smiling, joking, and offered us water and candy. The lady even complimented my muscles out of the blue, which is just not something normal people do. It all felt odd. What they were doing still didn't register in my mind (I'm too trusting and naive I guess). However, later I realized that they were trying to extort money out of me by using psychological tactics to pressure me. The problem is that I can't prove this, but I am absolutely certain that this is what they were doing. Also, they had this routine down (it was actually impressive) like they have done this to other people before. I'm not a lawyer, but according to Google, extortion of $100 in Texas carries a fine of up to $2000 and 180 days in jail. Also, I have a disability, so that's an aggravating factor that bumps it up to a Class A misdemeanor, which carries a fine up to $4000 and a year in jail. I doubt anyone will ever be able to prove their intent behind what they are doing, but I wholeheartedly believe they knew exactly what they were doing and it's wrong. Very wrong. I know it can be hard to get by financially sometimes, but we can't resort to trying to exploit each other. It's really despicable. I strongly recommend people avoid this place.

I've been using this storage unit for a couple years now, and the only minor issue I've had with…read morethem is that their price has gone up over the last year. That's a bit of a bummer, but not totally unexpected or crazy or anything. This is a nice, clean, and safe facility (as far as I can tell!). Storage units always have a bit of a creepy factor no matter where they're located, especially if your unit is completely inside a building like mine. I will admit I feel a bit nervous every time I meander through the long identical hallways looking for my unit, and I feel like it'd be pretty easy to get lost in there... But you can always grab a map at the front desk or ask the staff to remind you which path to take! The staff has always been extremely helpful and readily available to answer questions, so you can count on that. Paying online is ultra easy and literally only takes two clicks once all of your payment information is entered. Just don't be late on your payment or they immediately tag on a $10 late fee. I do think this storage unit is a tad expensive, but again, nothing too out of the ordinary!

Brace yourself for an electrifying -- if true -- review…read more If you're of the opinion that all storage units are pretty much created equally, I definitely invite you to go visit a few and get back to me: simply put, there are a wide variety of shenanigans going down at some of these places, and it can be noted that I've been to some where there have been (and I am not making this up), open fires in the parking lot and chatter of side businesses that would seem hysterical were it not for the fact that the man's dentures were rattling around in abject seriousness while he spoke of such side businesses. This, of course, is a story for another time over beers, but for the time being, suffice it to say that I decided to err in favor of sanity and rented a spot at Eagle, French for That Place Where Your Stuff Is Safe. Along the way, I learned lots of things, not the least of which is that A) apparently for some reason folks are renting many more of the climate controlled units than they had been before. There were details as to why, but somewhere in the middle, admittedly I tuned that part out. And B) they are, as one might expect, pretty adamant about the security part of the equation here. That means that you have to punch your code into the gate to get in (not unusual) and then punch it again to get back out again (less usual). What that means is that if some random fellow decides to gun it out of the parking lot behind you after dropping off his stuff -- but doesn't use the keypad -- an alarm goes off tied to the unit he came in under. So that's fun. All protocols aside, the spaces are well kept and the management seems to be genuinely on top of what's up: if you get deliveries from such services (as I occasionally do), you can predetermine who is kosher to drop stuff in your space, and even should you be out of town you can have them place your stuff in your absence. And that's pro enough for me. Thanks, Eagle. I'll keep an eye out for ya.

Mother Nature played havoc on RecNation RV & Boat Storage in Aledo, TX with a terrible ice storm…read morerecently. There were roof problems in some units, mine included, and the staff, particularly Mikeulyn, has been enormously helpful. It is difficult for me to visit the site and she has helped arrange movement of our 3 units contents to new units that were not damaged in the storm. A big hats off for Mikeulyn and also for Vanessa, in their corporate offices, with helping lock on the new units too. I will continue to keep my things stored there for a long time. If you are on the edge about where to store YOUR stuff, this is a great place!

DON'T USE RECNATION! RECNATION WILL OVERCHARGE YOU AND RIP YOU OFF!! This is a part of…read morecorrespondence with them when I moved out because they'd been overcharging me, refused to correct it, and then have been harassing me since. I moved out and cancelled my lease because I was already being severely overcharged by your company. For a long time I was being charged $209+tax. When I called your office to point out to you that I was being overcharged based on the pricing listed on your website, I was told that my pricing would not be lowered to your advertised price, and only reduced to $190. The current advertised price for the same exact enclosed space that I had, is for $153 per month, and it very clearly states NO OBLIGATION. It does not say that it is a move in special, or limited time offer, or only applying to new move-ins. Still a full $37 per month over your current pricing. I have been charged substantially more than your current pricing. It also appears I have been being charged a $12 per month "protection fee" which I only realized recently. Apparently your website does not show itemized billing on demand, and it is also not allowing me to go back and look at previous statements for itemization. I finally found some previous invoices in my email. When I noticed that, I initially thought it was for the physical security on premise, which was apparently installed and being monitored by an unlicensed security company. After some digging, I found out I'm being charged for some sort of a protection plan because you did not have a copy of my trailers insurance on file. I have had insurance since I bought the trailer in 2019. So in addition to being overcharged on the monthly space, I've also been overcharged by that $12 per month. That "protection fee" did not appear until AFTER I called in to discuss being overcharged in the first place. I consider that being charged a retaliatory fee for raising the issue. And since the optimization is not available on your website, it appears that you were intentionally trying to hide that from me. I have never received a notice that that fee was going to be charged to me. I have also not been sent a physical invoice since these changes were made, which also tells me you were intentionally not wanting to show me that fee.
