They have a grand opening promotion, a few dishes have been reduced to $9.90. I got the rice noodle with pork and meat sauce. You can add an extra noodle for free. I got the potato noodle on the side. The soup was flavourful and slightly spicy. The noodle texture was perfectly made. It was just lacking in protein though. It came with five small pieces of pork and it was more batter than meat. Along with a small scope of minced meat. It's not bad for $9.90, not sure if I'd pay full price for it though.

Food 4/5 Service 3/5 Vibe 4/5 Modu brothers are now opened on yonge and sheppard. They specialize in chengdu food (but personally i think its more ok the fusion side) still good, but just not super super authentic. They always have specials going on, so do check on their IG before visiting! Difference this store doesn't provided unlimited refill for rice and noodles (just 1 refill), but their scarborough location does. Still good ngl, but just a headsup. I personally love their Dry Rice Noodle With Pork Meat Sauce And chickpeas and Peanut aka 碗杂面. Its super creamy in texture, i no its basic, but it has always been my go to dish. Overall 3.5/5! Personally prefer scarborough location more haha.

Really good spicy noodles. I had the hot pot potato noodles. One of my favourite types of noodles! The serving size was good, but I wish the toppings were more generous. Place was clean and nice and staff were doing there best. I think it was opening day, so definitely not judging staff much today.

this spot (and they also have a location in scarborough) specializes in chongqing noodles. i came after my trip to china and was feeling very homesick, and this place hits the spot!! the noodles taste very similar to what i had in china and it's also very affordable for toronto standards. this place is definitely going to be one of my comfort meal spots now.

I like the seasoning of this location more than their Scarborough location.

I am taiwanese and I have to say this was delicious. There is someone actually making noodles in the back. Service was quick and very nice and upbeat. My server was Kelly and she was great- I ate in and took what I didnt finish to-go and she even separated my noodles from the broth! The mango green tea was also fantastic. Thank you!

Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

I didn't see this deal advertised outside, but Kinton Ramen Harbourfront has a summer deal where you can get a ramen, drink, and gyozas for under $20. It was well worth the price, except the drink was watered down a lot. The service was alright in that the waiter didn't talk much at all. The food came quickly though. The ambiance is casual and great for when you want to dine alone.

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.
