While everyone else leaned into pancakes and eggs, I went straight for the club sandwich -- and wow. First of all, the portion size is HUGE. I'm talking stacked-high, could-easily-share (but won't want to) kind of huge. Fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted bread, and packed with flavor. Definitely not your average breakfast plate. The staff was incredibly friendly and impressively fast. Even during the morning rush, we felt taken care of and never rushed. Food came out quickly, hot, and exactly as ordered. Whether you're a die-hard breakfast fan or someone like me who'd rather have lunch any time of day, Sara's Kitchen is a fantastic choice. Great food, generous portions, and welcoming service -- we'll absolutely be back.

Our wait time was around 20 minutes and then our party of 6 was seated (3 adults, 3 kids). Our drink order was promptly taken, and we had a moment to browse the menu. My son went with the Mickey pancake and side of bacon, with a kids apple juice. I was torn between trying their French toast or keeping it simple and getting a breakfast sandwich. I ended up selecting the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a side of seasoned fries, with an extra sweet Arnold Palmer. Wait time for food did not feel exceptionally long. Everything looked great upon table placement. My bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was tasty. However, the egg-to-bacon ratio was a bit off. The small portion of bacon I did have was stacked into the center of the sandwich, making it difficult to enjoy in each bite, while the egg overpowered the overall flavor. The seasoned fries, however, were absolutely delicious. My son devoured his Mickey pancake. His bacon was a bit overcooked, which made it less appealing to him, but I had no issue adding it to my sandwich, fixing the scarcity issue there. I would most certainly return.

The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance--fun and laid-back, but with a touch of elevated Southern charm. Their specialty cocktails are excellent--creative, well-balanced, and worth a visit all on their own. We're planning to return this Sunday for their jazz brunch, and I'll update this review afterward. Looking forward to seeing how Sassafras delivers in the daylight with live music!

You can tell the kitchen cares about ingredients and quality--from the first bite to the last. We ordered the burger, a fresh seasonal salad, and a few selections from their oyster menu, which is now one of my favorites in the area. Everything was perfectly cooked, well-balanced, and beautifully plated. The vibe is relaxed but elevated, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. We also discovered they have a happy hour menu with a great variety of options--definitely coming back to explore more of that. Sassafras strikes the perfect balance between Southern charm and modern dining. Whether you're here for cocktails and oysters or a full dinner, you're in for something special. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, after being seated, no one came by for about 10 minutes to greet us or take our order. Thankfully, a server who was taking care of a nearby table noticed we'd been overlooked and kindly stopped to take our drink order. I ordered a mocha latte, but what I received wasn't really a mocha latte. I drank it anyway, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Once we placed our food order, it arrived in about 20-30 minutes, which was reasonable. The food itself was okay--not bad, but nothing that really stood out or made me eager to come back. One thing I'd like to mention for future guests: the restaurant automatically included an 18% gratuity on the bill. I didn't notice it until after I had already added an additional 20% tip, so be sure to double-check your receipt before paying. Overall, it was an average experience. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and I appreciated the server who stepped in to help us after we'd been waiting, but there are definitely a few areas where the service and food could be improved.

The steak was super tender and eggs, again, cooked perfectly. 3) BLTA salad was super refreshing 4) Chicken + waffle -- it was okay. But take the chicken and add it to the salad-- and that was the perfect combo. Dessert: The Mud Pie was the perfect way to end the meal-- though thoroughly stuffed-- it was a top 5 of mud pies! I didn't realize that Alaina's was a sit-down establishment that just so happened to have a refrigerated glass display of sweet treats, baked goods, and cakes to enjoy on-site or to go. Its aesthetic was a lot classier than I anticipated. I thought it would be more of a diner-type environment, but instead it's much more visually appealing as a dining area with both table and booth seating, serving high-end booze and solid cuisine. I ordered their two-egg sandwich with bacon and fruit, which allowed me to live my best life. It was delicious. Their bacon in particular was magical. The iced coffee black helped me wash it down. Price-wise, it was reasonable. I would need to come back for happy hour and discovered they have dinner as well -- originally thought it was only open through lunch hour. It comes off as much more upscale, especially once you enter the interior. I was impressed by Bruichladdich scotch selections on their liquor shelves, as well as their lovely Belgian beers in stock in the bottom-level fridge and on tap. They have brunch-themed cocktails to enjoy. I'll have to return with the missuses to enjoy more, as I was impressed by what I saw. But I need to try dinner there to confirm my speculation.
