We had such a great dinner at Pelican Cafe! The vibe is super cozy and the whole staff was beyond friendly from the second we walked in. They start you off with complimentary bread and hummus which was so good. The food quality is impressive and the portions are huge. We ordered a ton: the burger, linguini with clams, and rigatoni bolognese were all delicious, and the flatbread and calamari were perfect for the table. Also, the chips, salsa, and guac were amazing. Everything paired perfectly with the drinks, which were 10/10. I also really appreciated that they didn't rush us. They were super intentional with the timing of when the appetizers and mains came out so we could actually enjoy each course. Such a solid spot, we'll definitely be back! read more

I came here for a networking /holiday party. We had the outdoor area which was very nice as it was cooler temps that night. I had a spicy pineapple margarita, which had a really nice flavor. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, fried calamari, coconut shrimp and pizzas. They have some unique thin crust pizzas, we had the shrimp scampi pizza and the white clam pizza. Well we went back for brunch- I'm still not disappointed!!! Eggs Benedict w filet mignon - so yummy!!! Nice bottle of Sancerre too! Pelican Cafe was quite delightful for dinner. The outdoor seating really proved to be a treat. The weather was perfect. It wasn't overly crowded and we weren't right up on the live music like they were in the dining room. We got to enjoy it with the doors open from a distance and not feel encroached upon. We didn't know that there was live music and it was actually fantastic. I enjoy jazz. The musicians were super talented and they played the often forgotten hit the year of the cat by Al Stewart. That made my night and tickled me. I love that song lol and it came out way before I was born. The food was pretty good. My only complaints were that the carpaccio was super small for what they're charging. And the sauce on the meatball dish was a bit sweet. But everything else was good. The wedge was really good. The swordfish was good, no complaints. It wasn't like special and fantastic, but it was good. The chicken piccata or franchise (I don't know which one it was), but it was enjoyed by the person who ordered it so was the fillet. The star of the night was that cinnamon gelato! Holy moly, not only did it elevate the tiramisu it was just perfect. It was perfect cinnamon gelato and I wish I could have it every day lol. On top of a very nice dining experience and atmosphere, the service was fantastic. The young man who was our waiter did a great job and he made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the entire meal. Enjoyed very much Monday evening. We found by accident and glad we did. Cute place and great staff. Josiah was great but so were all others. And great food, generous portions as well. The Black Truffle Burrata was great and could easily have satisifed four people, it was just two of us. The Veal Chop was devine. What a nice restaurant to walk into indoor and outdoor seating with white tablecloth tables , very clean atmosphere which I loved and greeted at the door with a smile .My waitress Rylee was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained everything as this was my first time here with my husband for brunch . As there were no appetizers on the menu , but the waitress did come out with 2 donuts they put on every table which was nice . I ordered chicken quesadilla and a pumpkin pie martini and my husband a blue cheese burger with onion rings and an egg drop soup ? which he did ask for calm chowder that was written on a black board for special for the day , we did mention it and my waitress apologized . I love the martini but the chicken quesadilla was very bland no seasoning to the chicken and a green sauce on side I didn't like. There wasn't much chicken inside . On the other side of the table my husband said his burger was tasty and onion rings . To me overall experience with food wasn't what I expected. This place was very pricey. read more

Another wonderful dinner last night at the Pelican Cafe. It's one of our go-to places with friends as well as our date night location as it does not disappoint even the fussiest eater. The service and food are top notch. If you've not been there recently they have expanded their regular menu and also have a pre-fix dinner menu with selections which are well represented from meat, fish and pasta offerings. Our waiter always remembers us and makes knowledgable suggestions from the menu and wine lists. Consider this when you want to dine in a pleasant white cloth setting that checks all the boxes: inside or outside seating, ambiance, great service, convenient location, ample parking, entertainment and most of all the really good food! There are different offerings each night of the week worth considering. We had a very mixed experience - everything except the food was great. The service was exceptional. Everyone, from the hostess to our server, Abraham - assisted by Josaih - was terrific. They came back frequently to check on our meals, made nice suggestions and were all friendly. The restaurant is attractive. While the Saturday night noise level was high, we could still have a comfortable conversation. The tables were close together, but still left comfortable spacing. The chairs were a bit low for me but, at well over six feet tall, that is a frequent issue. That leaves the food. In a word ... meh. Both chicken dishes in our party were overcooked. The Chicken Milanese was almost cremated. It was promptly replaced but even that was overcooked and tasteless. Moreover, the salad from the first, burnt offering, was simply transferred to its replacement - so it was already wilted when served. The Chicken Parmigiana was overcooked almost as badly. I am a sucker for Sunday Sauce. The Pelican's was served with a tasty sausage, two very nice meatballs and a dollop of creamy ricotta. The pasta was well cooked. The fly in the ointment was the sauce. It was not a rich and flavorful red sauce that had been simmered all day, but a thin, relatively tasteless red sauce. We had an amazing dinner here. They have an outdoor patio area where qe were seated, which was lovely. Our server, Alex, was very attentive and professional. We had the special, which was shrimp scampi with spinach and mushroom, with pasta purses. Do delicious! Also, had the rigatoni bolognese which is always a hit. For dessert we have the pineapple upside down cake. It is served warn with whipped cream. Omg, loved it! The food was really good and the atmosphere is wonderful. Hostess service is awful. Really liked this place and Evelyn was great the past few times we've been for brunch but today was awful. (Server and food were fine but it just started out bad from the get go. ie the hostess) I guess walk in's are just not acceptable. The meals we ordered were excellent ,BUT, we realized that the prices are about 25% higher than last year, when the new owner took over. We've been patrons for many years and have been pleased with our experiences. We noticed changes immediately with the valet parking which is a plus. Parking used to be challenging with a small area. Now arriving is a breeze. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table. Our server, Riley, was attentive and friendly. The manager checked on us (and every table) several times. We both ordered off of the evening specials menu. I had fresh flounder and opted for francese preparation. It was as big as a plate! It was buttery, lightly lemony, and melted on the palate. The best I have ever tasted. Hubby ordered the salmon Mediterranean and loved it. Neither of us had room for dessert but look forward to our next visit! It was a pure pleasure! read more

We had an excellent dinner here with friends/cousins on a busy Saturday night. It was their restaurant choice and we are so glad they introduced us to this wonderful place -- as we never would have found it on our own. They'd made reservations early. And they are highly recommended as the restaurant is very popular. Amazingly, they serve 3 meals a day. We got to meet the owner, as well, who is a constant friendly presence. The tables are fairly close together, so you'll get to know your neighbors. And it can get a bit noisy, but the food makes it worth it. The venue is an old house. The starter bread basket was so good, we all decided to skip an appetizer/salad, save room for dessert, and go right to the entree. They had quite a few appealing nightly specials in addition to the regular menu. Two in our group chose the special snapper that night -- one had it piccata style and one had it Francese style. Another entree choice on the menu was their encrusted sole. I chose their crispy duck a l'orange. You could adjust your side choices. My duck was excellent, perfectly cooked, and came with wild rice and seasonal vegetables. Portions were large; all was delicious. Everyone raved about their individual dishes. For dessert, the guys shared a pineapple upside down cake. No crumbs were left. The gals each enjoyed a very good frothy cappuccino. I'd love to come back and try more items on their menu -- it was not easy choosing just one entree -- and maybe even try their breakfast some time.
