Moe Joe's on Fat Tuesday is to be experienced!! Entertained by the dancers and liveliness. Decorations were fantastic felt like New Orleans! Shrimp and Grits were flavorful and spicy but not too much. Bienet was warm and fluffy. Awesome experience except for the wait but we expected that!

Went for a nice dinner here on Saturday night and we sat with the Owners daughter Lola. She did a Fantastic job. Very knowledgeable, attentive stopped by to check on us. Next time you are there ask for her. The food was Amazing as the photos look. Hot and Fresh!! The Ambiance makes you feel like you are in New Orleans!! The BEST Cajun food anywhere!!! Wish I could give it 10 stars.

Seafood jambalaya

Food was awesome I had a seafood jambalaya. It was on point! I'm coming back next week to try something else. I can't wait. The server was awesome friendly and knowledgeable of the menu.

Location right downtown but you feel like your stepping into a place on Bourbon Street. The menu is very authentic to what you find down there. We started with fried Gator Tail presented very nice. The hubby went straight for the Gator Burger myself went for a healthy meal Fried Green Tomato BLT. Beer menu has a lot to choose from with local breweries available. We sat in the bar area but they do offer outdoor seating and a dinning room

Liam!

Liam was a PHENOMENAL cocktailer! He recommended the Key Lime Pie martini and the crawfish arancini's!

We kinda came here by accident! I was craving Jamaican food and somehow online, the closest "Jamaican" restaurant to Naperville was here. So definitely was shocked when we walked into a Cajun restaurant instead and the closest thing to Jamaican food was the Jamaican flavored wings... Probably should've looked up the menu before walking in here but oh well. I ended up ordering the Jambalaya and my husband ordered alligator tail since we were here and honestly can't complain. Food was decent, portion sizes are huge. Staff was friendly. Looked a little grimy on the inside but I'm not sure if maybe that was the tavern style vibe they were going for. Super chill restaurant/bar overall and on our way out we even saw they have trivia nights during the summer

Their food is always on point! Such great flavors. The service was good even though it was so late. The outdoor seating area is great at night, you can hear the places next door. Everyone is out enjoying life. This is a great experience!

Food was very good. If you are not in a hurry, I would recommend coming here for a craft beer and a wild boar burger.

Thanks to fellow Yelpers for recommending this place! I haven't had an authentic taste of Jamaica…read morein a very long time. The jerk sauce immediately took me back and the chicken was super tender. The candied yams were sweet but not over done. The beans and rice needed more flavor so I added the spicy jerk sauce. My hubby enjoyed the patties. The storefront is located in a strip center off of Rt 38 and Rt 47 with parking in front. Few seats inside so we took it to go and had a picnic. Ask for extra napkins and two forks if you plan on sharing. .

Ya Mon...this place is legit!…read more I am so glad my fellow Yelpers told me about Island Express in Elburn Illinois. Authentic home style Jamaican food with Island Flavor at reasonable prices. Mainly a takeout place with limited counter seating, each meal is prepared fresh. Jerk Chicken,Curry Goat and Oxtails are just a few of their Jamaican dishes. We tried their Veggy Patty and Chicken Patty. Flakey crust loaded with flavor. I didn't care for the chicken patty as it was chicken curry which I'm not a big fan of..wish it would have been listed on the menu in a different way. Ordered a side of their spicey jerk sauce which added additional flavor ....bonus! Also had their Medium Jerk Chicken platter with sides of red beans and rice and sweet candied yams. Everything was delicious. If you want to experience good Jamaican food minus the sand, ocean and Red Stripe Beer, this is definitely the place to go.

This was such a pleasant surprise from the moment I walked in. The owner of Jungle Plate is…read moreincredibly friendly and welcoming, which immediately set the tone for the experience. I didn't realize beforehand that it was an African restaurant, and since I have limited experience with Nigerian cuisine, I was excited to try something new. I ordered the beef with jollof rice, and while I wasn't expecting the level of spice, the flavors were bold, rich, and truly enjoyable. It's one of those meals that leaves an impression--comforting, flavorful, and different in the best way. I'll definitely be returning, and next time I plan to bring my husband so we can try some of their goat dishes as well. Overall, a warm, welcoming spot that's worth exploring if you're looking to step outside your usual and experience something new. Perfect for anyone looking to try something new in a welcoming, approachable setting.

I wanted to love an African restaurant in my neighborhood but the food is never ready as expected…read more They have been known to not have many items on the menu. There was a change in the menu options and many times they are still out. The staff is kind and the food is or has always been hot. The suya chicken was good, the again is my favorite but never available, and egusi was pretty good, the jollof rice has a smoky flavor and is sometimes dry but it's okay. Their jerk wings were also good. I would love pepper soup option but haven't had any. Sadly, to avoid disappointment of not having what I want I have to drive all the way into the city on the south side for an available and consistent meal. I pray this place improves because there is potential.

Shout out to the best Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant in Chicago, for Oxtails!!!!…read moreI had the absolute pleasure of patronizing this restaurant 2 days ago. I ordered an Oxtail dinner with Cabbage, and Plantains. OMG!!!! The meat was literally falling off the bones!!!! TENDERNISM!!!! The Cabbage was tasty & seasoned (most Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants don't "normally" season the veggies well - from my experience), and the Plantains were soft and sweet - just how I like them! The rice, that comes with the Oxtails, had the most tasty Au jus from the Oxtails. OMG!!!!!! And the portion was AMAAAAZING!!!!! I had visited 2 other Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants prior to this one, and was severely disappointed! I am what you would call, an "Oxtail Connoisseur," and every state that I visit, I try the restaurants that are considered to have "The Best Oxtails." Well, I have found the best, and I refuse to try the rest! I am here in Chicago for another 2 weeks, and I will be ordering from JH's Jerk Grill a few more times, including today! If you love Oxtails - GO! You will NOT be disappointed! Oh, make sure you order ahead, as the wait can be lengthy.

I will say I'd recommend ordering ahead if you don't want to wait too long. Appreciate the food being made to order thoug Now for the food! Jerk tips 8/10: nice a tender and decent portion size. Great flavor and I didn't even need the sauce but the sauce was a nice to have if you need it. Jerk egg roll 6/10: nice size egg roll full of chicken but the chicken was a little dry for my taste. I'd go back for the tips and to try the plantains.
