I forget that this restaurant exists until I got reminded about their Friday Fish Fry's during Lent. My sister and I had stopped by for an early dinner to partake on their AYCE Friday Fish Fry for $25. We each ordered one with our desired sides. I ended up getting the sweet potatoes with honey mustard and my sister got hers with chips. I finished mine and we ended up getting a refill and splitting that and I was impressed when my sister asked for another order! Our server was amazing and she was very proactive and was quick to make sure we were getting our next order of fish refilled. I ended up coming back again with the Bolingbrook Chamber and we were able to try their different menu items. I also ended up having a late lunch here with a friend on their patio to people watch. Their outdoor space would be a fantastic venue for a cigar dinner to pair with their vast menu items! read more

They need to hire someone that knows how to cook ! Food is terrible! Chicken sandwich is old warmed up chicken. Worst food around !

Food: The food is superb, the chicken tenders are really crispy, and the steak is much better than the one's served at other restaurants. Normally at other restaurants, when you order a medium/rare steak, the chefs would just give you a medium or even a medium/well done. But, these chefs really made it well. The steak was really tender and the best I've ever tasted. Awesome food here. I will be back. Service: It was raining the day we went, so there weren't a lot of people. So, I guess that's why there wasn't a lot of staff present at the time. The waitress was polite and when I asked her what a sherbet was she responded accurately. The food, however, took a long time to come out, possibly another effect of the rainy day, as there weren't many chefs. All in all, the service was quite good. Ambiance: The place is really clean, without any crumbs or anything. The entire place gives a fancy feeling. (The lighting, tables, chairs, menus, etc.) There were no loud noises or conversations (another effect of the rain, maybe). (P.S.: There's a special theme every day except for Saturday so it's really nice. Sunday is free for kids. SADLY, only the food from the children's menu will be free. :) You will not be able to order a steak for your child). read more

Went here today for lunch with girlfriends. They had a fireplace, which wasn't going, it would have been a nice day for it. Friendly staff, and a decent menu. I got soup and a wrap. My soup was barely warm, but my wrap was very good. Nice clean bathrooms. Also a box of glasses in the lobby...I've never seen that before, and I totally love the idea! I hosted a bridal shower at Ashbury's recently for 18 people and it turned out wonderful. I live out of state so I had many planning phone calls with the Catering Manager, Denise, and she was efficient and helpful. She offered many suggestions. The food was delicious. Izzy our waitress was efficient and helpful as well. We had a delay in serving lunch as we were waiting on guests to arrive, and Ashbury's was very accommodating. The room we had was beautiful and offered access to the outside deck overlooking the golf course. Kudos to Dena, the bartender who handled our group as well as the golf crowd. Those Bloody Mary's looked really good! read more

Ashbury's updates their menu and it is great! I had the Cubans which was a fantastic choice. I choose the tater tots and was not disappointed. My wife had the Patty Melt (which I tried) and IT was amazing. We like to go here because the prices are not crazy and we always get good service. It is not crazy busy and that is why we like it. If more people review it well that may change, but it is a benefit. My wife also had a Moscow Mule which she said was one of the best she has had. Nice atmosphere and great service! read more

This was my first visit. I did not know there would be something special for Cinco de Mayo and The Kentucky Derby. The cheering for the best hat contest was rather loud. However, we were informed it was "Date Night" which means we got an appetizer and 2 entrees for $20 and home made chips. Are you kidding me? That's great. Food was served hot and our burgers were very juicy. There was a great view of the golf course. There is outdoor seating ~ both covered and open, a separate bar area, and an area on the second floor for private parties. They offer daily specials for drinks and food and Sunday through Thursday kids eat free if they are 10 or under, with an adult. I think they have every family member covered :) read more

Ashbury is located at the Boughton Ridge golf course. I ate lunch here before playing golf. We asked the host if we could sit outside and she was happy to sit us anywhere. The patio has a beautiful view of the golf course. Our server (Brian) was friendly & knowledgeable. He kept our drinks filled and was available if we needed anything. They were offering $2 draft beers as the daily drink special. The beer had a strange taste so I decided to order a bottle beer. The bottles of beer were only a little more than draft beer. I chose the California Chicken wrap as my entree. The wrap was filled with grilled chicken, bacon, cheese, avocado, and red peppers. The wrap was prepared fresh and had a great taste. They have a wide variety of items in their lunch menu. They offer basic appetizers, soups/salads, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, etc. Ashbury also has different menus for breakfast and dinner. I would love to try breakfast here of we had an earlier tee time. We were able to enjoy lunch and a beer before playing golf. We told our server our tee time and did not have to rush. Trivia night at Ashbury's with six people. Appetizers took over a half hour and no plates were provided. After a half hour my beer still hadn't come out, and when I asked about it (twice) I was told there was some problem with the keg, so I got a different beer and that was delivered in just ten minutes. A request for a "completely plain hamburger" resulted in a fully loaded burger. They took it back and then came out a few minutes later with the same burger with the toppings scraped off. A well-done burger request came back medium rare. The "tomato soup" was nothing more than thick marinara sauce in a cup. It took ten minutes to finally get the bill correct, and in the end the credit card reader didn't work so we had to pay cash. read more

I've passed this restaurant and golf club half a million times but finally came by and grabbed a bite for lunch. Great dining room with wonderful views of their golf club! Not a huge menu but quite adequate for anybody's taste buds. They have a fantastic wait staff and they are very helpful. They have a little area inside their bar and their dining room which is more comfortable. I recommend this place for a nice lunch. read more

Not a great place for food for the lunch hour. It took the server 15 min to take our drink order and we were there for over an hr before we got our food. We sat for 15 min again waiting for her to come back for refills. Lunch break is only an hr so that put us in a bind. Good thing I didn't have a patient waiting for me to get fed back at the office! For a veggie wrap that doesnt need to be cook that was quiet a long time to wait; i do recommend the veggie wrap. I was told the burgers were over cooked. Also, the restroom was dirty. Idk if we will go back. There are similar places at the promenade down the road that have better service and more vegan/vegetarian options on their menu. read more

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURE ON THE COUPON!! The food was TERRIBLE. I'm sure prison food is better. My husband ordered the 10oz sirloin meal...the mashed potatoes were fresh out of the box. They were runny and the steak was prepackaged and dry! I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta and it had NO flavor at all, no spice, nothing. The food is NOT fresh made by the chef it comes premade (I requested no onion in my pasta and the waitress said it comes premixed). The server forgot our appatizer another fresh out of the can spinach and artichoke dip. My husband's beer was warm. Now dont get me wrong..I love kids, I even have one who is a teen. But There was a family with 3 or 4 kids, all ages 8 and above that were EXTREMELY loud, didn't care about the other patrons (total of 3 other tables). The parents said nothing to them either. The Sad thing was the parents were worse than the kids, banging on the table the dad playing music on his cell while the son decided he wanted to sing OUT LOUD. I'm not sure who was worse..the trashy parents or the children that seemed to be raised in a mad house! The best thing about this place was, the food was on the house..probably because we didn't eat it. Save your money and go elsewhere!! I will NEVER ever return to Ashbury's! Ashbury's is a nice venue to host an event in the Bolingbrook area. The customer service is top notch although the food isn't ever above average. Recently I attended a political event with passed hors d'oeuvres and one out of the three items was room temperature/cold. Thankfully the server returned the item to the kitchen to be refreshed prior to the next pass! I appreciate the servers taking an interest to make sure guests enjoyed the treats. Additionally, we hosted a birthday dinner for my hubby in the restaurant section. The sliders were juicy, pretzel rolls fresh and the bartender accommodating. With a group of 6 and an empty dining area we had a very unpleasant experience at Ashburys Two who ordered salad said it was okay. One added a creamed soup and it was visibly curdled. When pointed out to Management his comment was "I thought it was fine". The charred chili shrimp appetizer was excellent. The Margarita drink special was tasteless and watered down. The loaded steak sandwich, while ordered rare, was raw and tough. Manager's response - "You ordered rare and that is how we make it." The potato salad that accompanied it was sour tasting. A table mate had to tell the Manager both should be replaced which he finally agreed to. The replacement potato salad was made with different potatoes indicating the original product was bad. The other meals were equally lacking in quality. There was one waitress and service, once the order was taken, was almost non existent as she was sent to double as bartender. When we explained we were repeat customers and were extremely dissatisfied the Manager offered free dessert rather than discounting or comping the bill. We agreed and asked the desserts to be take out as we had already been there an extremely long time. The take out orders were completely mixed up. We exchanged our desserts with each other correcting who received which one and waited for our checks. One table mate finally went to the bar and returned with the bill folders which again sat uncollected until she brought them to the bar. Did I mention although it is a nonsmoking there was a permeating smell of cigarettes. It was difficult to determine if the completely unpleasant experience was do to the food, short staffing or a poor attitude of the manager. We are not returning. read more

This review is specifically for Easter Brunch. Do not eat here! Our family of 12 all agreed that this was the worst buffet we have ever had, and it was not cheap ($28pp).The buffet food was not changed out so not was cold and dry-and the selection was poor. Only fresh item was the omelet station. Bad service/front of house. Accidentally cancelled our reservation , and when they did accommodate us we were met with bad service. Asked for coffee several times, and only given 6 creams for a table of 12. No infant carrier accommodations/not good for kids. Everyone eating looked disappointed. We went to Ashbury's for lunch today on a father's day gift certificate that had to be used before October 31st. The place was quiet and clean and we got a beautiful window seating overlooking the golf course. We ordered the Jamaican chicken wings appetizer which were hot and delicious. Also enjoyed the seasonal butternut squash soup with pepitas which was super impressive and a delight to the palate. Then I had the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. My guest had the shrimp tacos. Everything was fantastic! I highly recommend the restaurant. read more

If I could give 6 stars I would. I had my daughter in law's baby shower there and the staff, food and the coordinator Michelle was amazing. I must have called and changed my mind on stuff 8 times and she never seem bothered at all with my calls or my requests. She allowed me to tweak the menu to meet my budget and was there Hands on that day to make sure everything went off well. My guest Loved the food and raved about the Tomato Soup! I came July 30th for their famous breaded chicken wings, and to my disappointment they are no longer on the menu. Why in the world would they take away the most popular and delicious breaded chicken wings? I settled for a burger which was good but I won't be back anytime soon because they no longer have my favorite item. I hope they recognize their mistake and bring back the breaded wings. read more

We just had my parents 50th Anniversary Celebration there and I would definitely recommend them to others. It was so easy to work with them on arranging the party and they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. My family and I have been there several times for dinner. We have enjoyed it each time. Prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are very good as well. We have used Groupon vouchers each time and that made the cost even more reasonable. We decided to try the nachos appetizer the last time we were there and we were not disappointed. After passing by for years, my family & I ventured inside to see what was held inside. The atmosphere was great, tonight they had a fundraiser going on for the Blind Baseball. There's was a nice jazz playing from the bar area that trickled into the dining area. The place was no too large but the closeness was gray for conversations. The service, oh the service. I'll come back to that. Food was delicious better than what I would have expected. My Son ordered the Taco salad, which was huge, but for a 12yr old. He ate it all, shell included. My girls had the salmon plates, which the salmon came out juicy, and a nice size filet. Only issue would be the fry type used, it was a thick crinkle cut, that was soggy. Maybe a fresh cut, or a better quality of fire could be better. The mashed potatoes could have used more cream, to improve the texture. Let's talk service, we had the pleasure of being serviced by Troy. He was nothing like what I expected, recommendation were great, he was attentive, the interaction with my kids was hilarious, you would have thought we knew him. The way he interacted with the other tables, as he treated each one with a personal touch. More establishments need to display this & pass it down to their staff. Clearly he is showing the staff an example of service he expects. Will be returning soon to see the new menu changes coming. read more

I wish more people knew about Ashbury's in Bolingbrook, at the Boughton Ridge Golf course. It is open to the public and delicious! I am adding it to yelp because I would definately recommend this restaurant for the people in the Bolingbrook area who are looking for a great meal which will blow out your expectations. The steak and seafood is delicious and they have a huge bar menu with tasty appetizers, cocktails, and a good beer/wine selection. Anything you are looking for Ashbury's can offer it and they have a beautiful atmosphere with a great view of the course. And you don't have to golf, you can eat there and the value is excellent for the quality, portion, and service. Try it , you might like it ! read more

This place is false advertising itself! Best bartender! You've got to be kidding me, I asked them simple questions about which wines were dry and the response I got was they all are, umm ok. Which drinks are your specialties? 'We have a full bar!' Yeah not what I asked. The manager started getting snippy because I kept asking questions about other drinks they can make them, 'we have a full bar' is what she stated, again not what I asked. Having to return a drink from said 'best bartender' with it being absolutely terrible and terribly made, is not what would be voted as 'best' in any category. The food was bland and the service was just ok. This was a second chance to see if the first experience was just a bad day. Nope, this place is awful. Been going to Ashbury's over a year now. I have to admit, it is not for everyone. However, my wife and I like it. Food is good. Decent wine selection with nice pour. Nice to eat on the patio or inside the bar. Staff is always friendly. Great place to catch the game, plenty of TVs for all fans. Best kept secret for burgers (and patty melts) in Bolingbrook... (until this review. LOL) If getting a burger, get the Pretzel bun. Service in the restaurant is sometimes slow, but if you're lucky enough to sit in the bar when Colette is working, you'll be treated very, very well. She's awesome. We've been going there about once every 3 weeks for their burger since the remodel years ago. Best to go when the weather is bad so the golfers don't take over the bar. I am a regular at this establishment especially during the golf season......i rated it with 3 stars because of the management....the GM Bill is probably the worst manager I have ever met and Kemper Sports made a big mistake in hiring him. A lovely day to dine at a golf course, and the service and food were both excellent. The club sandwich is perfectly prepared: minimal mayo, lightly toasted wheat bread, flavorful tomato, awesome thick cut bacon, and fresh, crisp lettuce. The fruit side was also delicious.
