Came in the other night for the first time, which is sort of crazy given how long I've been in Tuscaloosa. Sat at the bar and was served by a very kind bartender. Wasn't sure what to order but was told the smoked wings were the thing. And, can confirm, they are definitely the thing. Honestly, no sauce really necessary. That's how good the smoke flavor was. I wasn't as big a fan of the Mac and cheese (not very cheesy, mostly stuck together) and the fries were pretty regular, but the smoked wings are definitely worth your time. I visited Moes last night to celebrate my 21st birthday with friends, and it ended up being an absolute nightmare. This was supposed to be a memorable night, but it turned into an experience that left me feeling violated and unsafe. As we were wrapping up the night, I went to the back area of the bar to grab my birthday sign that we had set up earlier. Out of nowhere, a male security guard aggressively entered my personal space, grabbing me inappropriately while he was trying to clear the area. I wasn't doing anything wrong--I was simply trying to retrieve my own belongings--but he disregarded any personal boundaries and acted without any respect or professionalism. For a place that attracts a lot of young, female customers, this bar did nothing to ensure our safety. I felt extremely uncomfortable and threatened, and it's clear that they either need to train their staff better or hire more respectful personnel. If you're a young woman planning to come here, I'd recommend reconsidering. No one deserves to feel this way on a night meant to be celebrated. read more

Before visiting my brother that goes to U of Bama I had a friend that has been to the area tell me how fantastic the food in the area is. While this is true, Moe's BBQ is probably the best of all. My family and I came in on an away game day and were surprised that we were able to get a big table- this of coarse was before every single student from UofA came in! Instead of it being a sit down restraunt, you order your food at the counter and then the food part and the bar part are totally separate. I had the pulled pork sandwhich with lima beans and mac n cheese. The name of this store is called "Moe's Orginal BBQ" but the real star of the show is the lima beans... amazing. Onto the bar side of the restraunt.. the bar ran out of basically everything. We came in just as they opened too and any mixer you could imagine wanting in your drink was just not available. I usually don't look for barbecue outside of Memphis but the nachos were really good! The homemade chips, queso, and red onions really set it apart from your typical bbq nachos. This place has my heart. For the past 4 years, this place has been one of the only constants in my life. I am eternally grateful. The seasoning they put on their fries is phenomenal. I was here a week ago, and I'm still daydreaming about their WINGS!!!!! I could eat this everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of it...that's how much I LOOOVED their wings. They are so juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and not too greasy like others. I'm still mad at myself for ordering a pull pork sandwich, which was REALLY GOOD, don't get me wrong...but the WINGS MAN!!! What some people may not know about is the tasty treat known as a Bushwhacker. So I would like to say that this is a story about an average run of the mill, still amazing, Bushwhacker....but that's where this story takes a turn. Enter Chandler. Hands down the best thing that ever happened to a Bushwhacker!!! To begin with she (Chandler) doesn't give you everything at once. Nope! The first wave of Bushwhacker comes with her signature Hershey's chocolate syrup drizzled around the inside of the cup. Executed to perfection and we are now in Bushwhacker bliss. But wait, there's more??? Yep, leave it to Chandler and her expert Bushwhacker mixology skills as she had one more trick up her sleeve........Kenny Chesney Banana Rum. Yes, a vile shaped shot of banana rum is infused with the Bushwhacker. Simply amazing! I would recommend that you do yourself a favor and try the Bushwhacker anywhere but here. Really, they are such a tasty treat especially on a hot summer afternoon. Once you have full appreciation of what a Bushwhacker traditionally is, come visit Chandler so that the regular run of the mill traditional Bushwhacker can be ruined from that point forward. I don't know if there is any going back at this point. Once you have tasted perfection it's hard to accept anything less. I do think Moe's has the best wings in Tuscaloosa when is comes to size and taste. The fries are always hot and seasoned to perfection. The baked beans are probably among the best baked beans I've had in Tuscaloosa. Came here for drinks before a concert in Tuscaloosa. This is the second Moe's location I have visited but both times only came for drinks. We came for the bushwhackers as they are known for them.
