Nice, quick taste of Mexican at a good price. Great service and a great place to stop for lunch or dinner.

The original Chuy's started in Austin, and after all these years, the flavors are still exactly how I remember them. I had planned to eat at H Mart but arrived too late after checking into my hotel. A summer thunderstorm rolled through, and by the time I pulled into Chuy's, the skies cleared. It was the perfect ending to a long day. The complimentary chips, fresh salsa, and famous creamy jalapeño dip are reason enough to stop by. That dip is every bit as addictive today as it was decades ago. I ordered the Comida Deluxe--a massive plate with cheese enchiladas, crispy chicken flautas, a crispy beef taco, fresh guacamole, queso-covered tostadas, rice, and refried beans. I paired it with an ice-cold Coke, plus extra lime wedges and white onions, because that's how Tex-Mex should be enjoyed. Every bite hit the spot. The portions were enormous, the quality was excellent, and at around $16-18, it's one of the best values around. I knew I'd be taking leftovers home, and they were just as good the next day. I also grabbed a slice of tres leches cake to go. It was huge and worth every penny. It somehow tasted even better after sitting overnight as the three milks soaked deeper into the cake. Absolutely delicious. Our server was warm, attentive, and made packing up leftovers effortless by bringing extra creamy jalapeño dip, a sturdy bag for the chips, and plenty of to-go containers. Service like that makes a difference. You can pay traditionally with your server or by scanning a QR code. I tried the QR option but found it a little cumbersome, so I paid the old-fashioned way with my credit card. Chuy's has stayed true to what made it famous. The recipes are consistent, the portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the food is packed with nostalgia. Whether you're a fellow Texan or just craving outstanding Tex-Mex, this place continues to deliver. Life is too short to eat boring food.

That being said, I could drink the creamy jalapeño sauce by the bucket; that is how much I love it. Other notable mentions are the chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas and the green chile enchiladas. At this specific Chuy's location, they were able to accommodate a large party of us (17 people) without any issues. The ambiance was nice and they were able to chill a cake we had brought in until we sliced it. The only negative part of the experience was that the waitress accidentally spilled cups of water on two guests, which was a bit of a mess, but the other staff members helped clean it up.

I decided to get the cubana torta, which turned out to be massive! I thought I'd have half for lunch and eat the rest later, but it was so good that I did, in fact, manage to finish it one sitting. The service is casual but courteous. Also good for kids - they have high chairs, a kids' menu, and a changing table in the ladies room (did not venture to check if there was also one in the men's).

I tried a pastor, carnita, and asada taco. All three were delicious, but the pastor especially hit. I've struggled finding good, flavorful pastor here and I'm SO happy to find a place that makes it well. They have a salad/salsa bar set up where you can get your own toppings. I actually really love that! My husband and I each got margs. His lime was good and got the hibiscus. I'll definitely order that one again! They were good and strong. My husband ordered the birria. The tacos themselves were great! Very flavorful. My only complaint is I wish the consume wasn't as watery as it was, but the flavor itself was still good! We also ordered chips for the table. They came out hot and freshly made. I'm already thinking about when I can come here next and try more menu items! 10/10 recommend.

The service was fantastic considering we were at the bar and it was very busy! The margaritas were sweet but weak. For a $10 margarita, I would have hoped it would a bit stronger. I got the quesa birria tacos which were decent although it was missing the consome that typically accompanies birria. I thought the food was decent and average although overpriced for what you get. The restaurant is located within the Southpoint Plaza so it is a convenient location to grab a quick meal after a day out. Overall, I think this place has very average Tex-Mex food. I don't see myself coming back here for the food, but if I was in the area craving Mexican food, I wouldn't be opposed to coming here.

The place was almost empty and I see why. At first there were a total of 6 people at the bar. When we left it was just the three of us. The guy behind the bar had to be repeatedly called over for refills and orders of food. I don't know what the hell he was doing. We had to order drinks from another restaurant airees once. She was friendly and helpful. Someone that looked like a manager walked by a few times and looked at us, but never even as much as said hi or asked about our experience. The ambience is fine. Light music and a pretty facility. The restrooms needed some serious cleaning. That's always one of those things that separates good from great.
