I was in the area for work and decided to stop by Moe's to grab some dinner. There are a lot of chain restaurants in the area, but this at least seemed like it would be a healthier option than some of the others. The restaurant looked pretty standard, but empty. I'm guessing this is more of a takeout place, definitely very casual. The employees were really friendly and provided a nice portion of food! As for the food itself, it was pretty decent, but nothing amazing. The steak had an interesting flavor profile, not exactly what I think of when I think Mexican, but not necessarily bad. I was happy to see my bowl came with a bag of chips. Usually for something like Chipotle, I eat everything in one sitting, but this was enough for two meals! We have eaten at a Moes many times in different states but this Moes in Norwich was terrible! Chicken was very dry and old tasting. The vegetables were so terrible that you could not even tell they were vegetables. The corn was old and dark like stale. Rice was stale and hard...Portion wasn't very good either. Just got 2 orders of nachos & as a regular at Moe's I have never in my life seen such a cheap serving. I ate most of both & I have never been able to finish a single nacho before. There is no way I will ever be back after getting taken like that, plenty of other places to get my nacho on. Pro tip for the owner of this store: Either you feed your customers or kiss them goodbye. I placed an order via the app at 4:36 pm and was told that it would be ready by 4:51 pm. I showed up at 5 pm and my order wasn't on the shelf. I had only ordered a salad and an order of nachos. I asked the manager about it and she it would be a few mins. She did give us free sodas while we waited. Finally at 5:20 they gave us an order. The wrong one. It was a stack and a taco. We went back in and they said that someone else picked up our order. Fine. But instead of remaking it, they gave us the food that the other guy BROUGHT HOME!! no offer of a refund or to remake it. my 8 year old and I got food poisoning!!! This location is horrid! Extremely unprofessional! They give free food to my teenage daughter cuz she's "pretty" but wont rectify orders with missing items!! Last year someone there stole my wallet! I decided to give them another try since my daughter still orders and Chris L messed up our order and refused to fix it. He proceeded to blame the uber driver for stealing instead of providing good customer service. Ordering off the app is a mess, if I have more than one burrito with different meats, why are they numbered instead of actually labeled with what it is? Numbering it would actually make sense if they numbered it in the order that the receipt has it, but instead my friends and I have to play a guessing game of who's food is who's. Also if I'm ordering ahead of time for later pick up, you would think they would make the food near the time I'm picking up, but I got my food right at the time I said I would and my chicken was cold...and PLZ stop putting the chips all in one bag if I ordered 3 burritos, like all 3 of us now have to eat out of the same bag? A+ for catering! We ordered tacos and nachos for 60 people using the online set up, and I was able to interface with the catering manager beforehand, have an associate pick it up, and they even loaded it in the car! Utensils and chafing set-ups were included. It really made our celebration of life that much more special and stress-free for us! I was very disappointed when I ordered to-go at this location. I had been craving a rice bowl for a few days so I decided to get one to go for dinner. When I got home, it looked okay, my lettuce was a little brown which was disappointing. When I took my first bite it tasted like old and slightly rancid food, I'm thinking from the old lettuce. My chips were bland and unsalted, which was also upsetting. The actual pick up experience was fast and easy, just wish the food wasn't so bad. This Moe's is the worst I've ever tried to order from. I ordered food through their app (and ONLY their app, not any other app) and an hour later still had no food. I checked the app and it said successfully delivered! I called the store and the "manager" said there was nothing on her system, the door dash person came and went but there was nothing to describe what was in the order so they cancelled it without anyone contacting me. I tried to explain I had never ordered through doordash only through their app she just kept repeating it was not in their system. When I asked what we could do she said it was in their (Door dash) system not hers so it was out of her hands and she told me I had to contact DoorDash even though the error was on their side and I had nothing through doordash. My husband had to call back and speak to her because I was so angry. After he told her again she needed to fix it, she finally agreed to call her boss to refund the order (which had magically appeared in their system by now). I am still waiting on the refund; if it has not showed up in my account statement by tomorrow I will be contacting them again. The complete lack of respect and interest in helping from a supposed manager is so disappointing and I will never order from this Moe's again. read more

I gave this Moe's a third try today. I placed all of my orders online. The first 2 times I ordered, my order was made poorly. Everything in my order lacked a reasonable amount of ingredients. Portion size was so much smaller than my experience at other Moe's locations. Today I ordered through Grub Hub for delivery. One Joey was made incorrectly, another Joey was missing entirely, and the earmuffs bowl was made incorrecty. All lacking ingredients. I paid for extra ground beef, I did not even get the normal amount. I will never order from this location again. Don't waste your money here. I recommend the Taco Bell down the street. read more

This establishment is my home. I cannot imagine Norwich without this staple. I would give up my firstborn child to eat here for all 3 meals. My only complaint is sometimes the rice is a little dry, however, they make up for it by saying "Welcome to Moes" and the free chips. This place is how I imagine heaven to be. Thank you, Moes. I love Moe's and was very glad when this one opened up. I hope they get into their grove because the past few times I've went I didn't feel that the food was up to the Moe's standard. Ingredients do not seem to be fresh at all. Rice that is cold and crunchy, beans cold, steak cold, lettuce browning, and salad shells stale. The food quality is just not there. The staff is either very nice or honestly seems to be bothered by your presence and not much in between. I hope they can get it together because it would be a shame if they fail because Moe's can be awesome. read more

Although it isn't as clean and well ran as when it first opened the staff are pleasant and the food is what you would expect it to be. Usually it is easy to pop in and out if you don't have time for a longer lunch and you need a sit down meal and you don't want a drive through fast food situation. Third time in a row having my mobile order made incorrectly. When I do go in, they often don't have multiple items made (queso, onions, peppers, etc.) and I have to wait in line for them to make more. Certain workers are more stingy with the meats, while others are more giving. I am a huge fan of Moe's, but after so many disappointments with this particular establishment , I would have to suggest visiting the Chipotle down the street if you are in the mood for southwestern. read more

And the majority of the people that work there are unfriendly and boring it's like going to the DMV. I used to go at least once week now I go maybe once a month. I use to love Moe's but since this is the closest store based off of my last experience I refuse to ever go back. I did an online order and being vegan I am picky with my meal. Long story short they were out of grilled peppers and onions and didn't tell anyone about this. Being vegan this is the base of my meals from Moe's due to this I asked to cancel and was told that I had to wait until they close then when I got upset about the response I was told that I can't get a return at all. Finally one of the employees contacted a manager who emailed me stating that the refund was complete but of course instead of apologizing said that they had "other food options". Of course I gave them a lengthy complaint. This isn't the first time, my food is always poorly made and cross contaminated and I'm always arguing with them for over charging for meat that I never ordered. I can go on and on just don't waste your time if u can. read more

My parents and I went to Moe's on 9/24/2020 at about 6:10-6:20pm. We've been coming to this location since it opened and we've never really had any problems. When we arrived no one really looked at us twice so my family and I stepped up to the bar. The girl who was working was bossing everyone around and yelling at them as if there were 50 people in line when it was only the 3 of us. She had her mask down around her chin while she was replacing chicken and other meats and yelling at staff members while standing over food. She only put her mask on when she had already started making our meal. I ordered a steak stack with rice onions lettuce sour cream and queso. My dad also order the same thing but with jalapeños, mushrooms, pico and no rice. My mom order the home wrecker bowl with steak rice pinto beans lettuce guacamole and the seasoned corn. We paid for our meals (about $30) and left the restaurant. When we got home we opened up our meals and began eating. Within the first bite my mom was yelling. Her bowl was so spicy it burnt her tongue and she had to run to the kitchen for milk. Keep in mind she never got anything spicy on it. I tried it and I bit into something crunchy and spicy. Again, she ordered no spicy items. My dads stack was full of liquid to the point he had to use the bowl as a catch basin because there was so much liquid. My mother had to throw her dinner out and make her own food. My mom was understandably upset so she decided to call the store to inform them that something was wrong. When she called she asked to speak to a manager and was told to hold on a second. In a few seconds she got the response "She's busy. Can I help you with what's going on?" My mom then said that she needed to speak to a manager because she wanted to make sure the issue was addressed. The man then put the phone down for about 2-3 minutes before picking up the phone and saying that the managers not in right now and that the store is super busy and to call back in 20 minutes. We will never be returning back here ever again. $30 down the drain tonight read more

Terrible experience and customer service. Ordered a chicken stack with the corn tomato mix & guacamole. The guy could barely fold it & it ended up being cold. When I told the employee they looked at me like I had 3 heads & just stared at me. Manager wasn't much better wouldn't even look at me & asked what was in it as if the contents made it cold. Then finally told me they could make another one just to sit there while the next employee took his time to even make it telling me to hold on...while he cleaned the grill, stirred the cooking ground meat then refilled that container then decided to finally make it. Many problems with this place. As a vegetarian, I was super pumped to see tofu on the menu. Now trust me when I say that I've had some bad experiences with tofu, but Moe's absolutely blew it out of the water. Their tofu is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. No flavor, jiggly, it's like eating unflavored jello. Apparently they don't understand that you have to press the water out of tofu in order to eliminate the jelly-like texture. They also don't understand that tofu takes the flavor of whatever you cook or store it in (from what I could tell they just store it in water. Big mistake). If you're going to serve tofu, at least to it right like chipotle does. Their sofritas is DELICIOUS. Despite the horrible protein, I still ate my stack with room temp vegetables, rice, and their famous, quite cold, queso. The food wasn't BAD. It was meh. The tofu was awful, but everything else would've been fine if it were actually warm. On the plus side, service was quick and the staff was very friendly. I can tell it's not their fault, rather the fault of poor management. I caught a glimpse of the manager, who looked like she hated being there while her employees tried to keep a smile going. If she keeps this up, it's only going to rub off on her crew. Overall, meh food (just because it wasn't warm, I won't count the tofu), friendly staff, clean restaurant, and poor management. read more
