This is a local diner style Mexican restaurant. This place serves generous portions size breakfast with a lot of flavors. We were seated as soon as we walked in to the booth of our choice. Service was very friendly and our waitress was quick to take our orders and food came out quick and cooked perfectly. They have a large menu with many choices, and daily specials are posted as you walk in along with early bird specials. They have booth seating and counter seating. Plenty of free outside parking. We went for breakfast so I can't speak to the Mexican food. A sign said to seat yourself so we did. The place was practically empty. It still took quite awhile to be greeted. The food came out quickly once we finally ordered. It was fine. Nothing to write home about. My eggs had shell in them. The coffee was terrible. Sausage and bacon were good. Pancakes ok. It took a long time to check if our food was ok and another long time to get the check. But the servers were both very pleasant. There are better breakfast places. read more

Loved this place for breakfast! I just got the basic American breakfast. Scrambled eggs are creamy and didn't taste rubbery like other places. The potatoes are amazing- not sure if they put cheese with them, but they were tasty and crispy. Kind of tasted in the middle between hashbrowns and home fries. The waffle was really good as well!! I came here for breakfast after staying at a nearby hotel. It's nothing fancy but the service and food were excellent. Our waitress was sweet and efficient. I got the huevos rancheros. It was so good! I've never had it like this with crispy tortillas. Really good. It was served with rice and beans. Some of the rice was a bit hard but I still ate most of it. My son got a cheese omelet which came with fried potatoes and toast. He loved it! I will return next time I stay in the area! read more

Nice little place right outside of Mohegan Sun, pretty easy to get to and fairly full when we stopped by. Service was fast and friendly and we had the Huevos a la mexicana and the eggs benedict and both meals came pretty fast and hot and well prepared. Lots of coffee was good too as we had a long drive ahead. If/when we are back in the area it's a nice place to stop for a meal. read more

Steak itself was good but I wasn't asked how I want my steak. The chilaquiles came very soggy. No bueno. Not recommended. Huevos a la mexicana is like a breakfast soft shell taco. Rice, beans, and eggs to be assembled with corn tortilla wraps. It was good. Large portions. Can feed 2 people. Recommended. Btw, menu says they charge $2 extra if you order one dish to share. Steak omelette was average. Recommend ordering something else. Western omelette was good. Recommend. Mexican burrito was average. Ice tea with free refill was refreshing. Overall recommend the place. Probably one of the few better places in the area. Would come back for lunch / dinner next time. Service was average. read more

Came in for breakfast since I decided to spend the weekend with my sister. It looks like a small house but once you enter it is spacious. We were told to sit anywhere and "someone" will come by to take your orders.....ok.... The food was delicious. It takes a while for them to cook the food, however, that did not bother me after I tasted it. Wow, I know the chef is a devoted Christian because even the bread was on point. (Catch my joke...lol) The only bad part is the customer service. It is horrible. I did not like our waitress at all. She kept disappearing for long periods of time. Smh. Ok, so we had the works. So I am a frequent customer because their Mexican fare is out of this world good! While they don't serve alcohol if you are looking for a good Mexican breakfast or lunch you could not do much better. Don't be fooled by the outside because it is the food that matters. For me the best breakfast is the Huevos Con Salsa Verde. Scrambled eggs sautéed in a spicy green salsa. Recently J was in for breakfast when the owner (I assume she is the owner because she runs the front of the house) recommended that they had a chicken in mole sauce which was for lunch but was I interested in it. Even though it was breakfast time I could not pass up the opportunity to try their mole sauce. The thing about mole is that it could be over spicy (too much chilies) or too sweet (too much chocolate) or not cooked long enough for that earthen taste to come out. This was perfectly balanced - a very good mole sauce. Look the inside is like a typical diner but don't pass up on the Mexican cuisine here because it is the real star. read more

Went for breakfast instead of eating at Mohegan Sun. About a five minute drive from the hotel and so glad we did. The restaurant is a bit dated and worn, but more than makes up for it in their menu. Server came right over with menus and took our coffee order. I ordered the eggs florentine and hubby got the california omelet with a cornbread muffin. Both were amazing, especially the corn muffin - so good. Will be back soon to try more - I'm sure we won't be disappointed. Worth the trip from the resort, a lot less expensive, and yummy to boot - perfect. read more
