Hmm perhaps I spoke to soon...today was my second visit to Mohegan. I told my nail tech, Long, I didn't need my nails cut down, but the square shape was starting to look thicker on the top edges as it was growing out, so I asked him to file the sides. When I went to pay, I was being charged $5 more than the last time I was there. I asked the owner's wife why, and she said she didn't know. Long said it was because I asked for a new shape. So...filing isn't part of the service?? Since when?? The woman at the register said she would take $5 off, yet I see the charge on my card... When I left, a woman came up to me in my car. She had been standing behind me in line and thanked me for saying something because apparently they pull this all the time. Additionally, she said there have been times she has gone to pay and they tell her the credit card machine is down. One time they made her leave her phone as collateral to go to the ATM. Excuse me, what?? That is insane! To top it off, one of my nails had wet shellac under it and now has bumps and ridges. The search for a nail salon that won't rip me off is back on...

I have used Mohegan Nail Spa off and on for pedicures, but will never do so again. I have a large sore at the base of my big toe nail from the nail tech scrubbing with the pumice sponge so hard she made me bleed. This happened on Tuesday and the sore is larger and more tender today. The tech knew she did it and kept apologizing. I was still expected to pay full price for my service for something that was not my fault but the tech's negligence. I will not be back.

GERM ALERT, i was recommended this place. So, I got my toes done Saturday and they have been ITCHING ever since and My cuticle has been SO sore! It is tender to the touch! The tech was nice but I won't be back!!

I have to downgrade a star because I have been having color issues with them. For their shellac, I think they are putting a cheaper alternative in the bottles. The color hasn't come out the same as the sample the past couple visits and my most recent visit the color completely changed on 48 hours. The painting and manicure are good overall and I will likely be back but this color debacle has been frustrating. If I wasn't traveling I would have gone back in for a fix.

Did not trim excess under my nail. See my review below.

I remember why I stopped coming to this place. The last time I was in this nail salon was 2011. After my experience today, I remember why I quit coming. I have an hour lunch break. I desperately needed a manicure and my regular salon is too far from my office to make it there and back in an hour. I called the salon around 1 to see a) if they were busy and b) how long a fill and shellac would take. The man who answered the phone said 35 minutes. I said "Great! Can you put me down at 1:30? My name is Lindsay." He clearly didn't, as he quickly said "okay" and hung up the phone. Thankfully they weren't busy. I sat down and a woman started on my nails. I needed one repaired, as it had chipped. The first thing she did before removing the current shellac was trim my nails, WITH A NAIL CLIPPER. ARE YOU SERIOUS. Anyone that gets acrylic on the regular knows they have to be shaved down because they will crack. And guess what. ALL OF THEM DID. Then, some other patron came in. Apparently she was more important for some reason and I was sent to a male technician. This guy could not have done a worse job. Dear lord. See pictures. He didn't trim the excess under my nail, he got nail glue on one of my fingers. The polish wasn't all the way to the edge. I had to ask him 3 times to shave down my nail because they were thick as hell. I eventually gave up and they are still quite thick. I kept reminding him I had to be back to work at 2:30. My office is at least 5-7 minutes away if I make every light. At one point, I looked at my watch and it was 2:18 and he hadn't even begun putting the shellac on! TL/DR: This place sucks and does not take any sort of pride in their work. If you're looking for an amazing nail salon, this is not it.

Meh. Seemed overpriced to me but in my area threading is usually under $10. The woman who worked on…read moreme was thorough to be certain but my eyebrows don't look... shaped. It had been at least 3 weeks since my last threading and I did NOT touch them at all in the interim, so it was slightly annoying to hear "no, no, hairs too short" every 10 seconds. I don't love the upsell so I didn't enjoy being told how urgently the rest of my face needed threading (and come on, find me one woman who doesn't work in a sideshow who wants a stranger commenting on her epic facial hair), but I figured I might need it since it had been a few weeks. Like I said, the woman working on me was thorough, and since I wasn't having my apparently epic facial hair shaped into a cool pattern or something, this was the highlight of my experience. Didn't love the kind of abrupt manner in which I was treated after paying (and leaving a substantial tip because that's just how I roll). Dude just turned his back on me and walked away. I wasn't expecting a parade or a hug or a pony, but THANKS isn't too challenging to say, and it makes customers feel, say, hmm... welcome?! If I need a threading next time I'm in town, I don't think I would return here. Maybe I'm spoiled for choices (and bargains) living in NYC where every other block seems to have a brow spot, but I just wasn't impressed by the results for what I wound up spending. Meh.

I've had my eyebrows threaded there before but yesterday was nothing short of a nightmare! I don't…read moreknow if the lady was new, untrained or what--but I left with my eyebrows looking misshapen and I have little scratches/cuts on my eyelid from where she was too aggressive with her thread. I've had threading done many many times before--but this--unacceptable. I will not go back, nor will I refer ANYONE to this place. If you go--make sure you ensure you don't get the newbie! While I understand everyone needs to learn somehow.. they should not 'practice' on unknowing customers.
