On Tuesday evening we went to Palm Springs. Our oldest son was catching a flight. We headed out from the airport trying to get a better view of the airplane as it took off. In search of the perfect spot, my husband got our truck stuck in the middle of a sandy area and because it was loose sand (like the beach) all efforts to drive it out were only making the tires sink deeper. Multiple tow trucks came to help and none were able to pull us out! They each tried their best and wished us luck when they couldn't help us. One of the tow truck drivers didn't even bother getting close to us! He just took off (Samano Brothers towing)!After 5 hours we were still stuck and it was already past midnight. Our roadside assistance company was running out of options to send us! They told us they would send the police department to help us! The police officer showed up and after a while of trying to figure out what to do, he called Mohica Towing and requested a recovery vehicle from them. At around midnight, Mohica towing company showed up. The truck they had was not strong enough to pull us out, but they had one back at the shop. The drivers, Joel and Jairo were amazing! They worked well together and made sure one of them stayed with us the whole time until the 4x4 recovery vehicle arrived. While waiting, Jairo prepped the area, looking for a route on the sand that was sturdier than the others. After assessing the situation and figuring out the best course of action, the recovery vehicle FINALLY pulled us out!!! And we finally headed home! We want to thank Mohica Towing for coming to our rescue! None of the other towing companies had what it took to pull us out of the sand! We broke down in the Morongo Grade towing a trailer. We had no cell service to call for service. CHP arrived and called for a tow. Mohica showed up and towed us home. We showed the driver our AAA RV plus card and he said we were good to go for the q5 mile tow to our home. When we arrived Mohica owner told the driver to refuse our AAA and to charge us 475.00 for the tow because CHP Called and not me. I talked the owner but he refused and threatened to tow my truck and trailer to the yard if I didn't pay. So I paid. I later reported this to AAA to get reimbursed. AAA found out after we paid them Mohica submitted a claim for the tow. Dis honest crooks if you ask me. Don't use this tow company. read more

A friend was visiting from out of town. Unfortunately she cut a turn to close, rolled over curb and shredded a tire. This was after 5pm on a Saturday night. We had been told that all of the tire repair places were already closed. The driver towed the car home and told us to call in the morning for another tow to Big O tires. What a life saver. Earlier in the afternoon AAA Roadside Battery Services in Indio jump started my dead battery. The technician printed out a report stating that the 9 month old AAA battery was in need of replacement and unfortunatelyhe didn'thave Size 35 battery with him . He tested the alternator & starter and said that I would make it home 25 minutes away. I called and reported the situation to AAA emergency Roadside Assistance and they scheduled Mohican Towing to bring the replacement. When the Mohican technician arrived the battery was dead and he jumped it and told me it tested good. He called his boss at Mohican and the guy seemed to be looking for any angle not to replace the 9 month old battery with a 3 year warranty. After he drove away I went down the the street for gas, and the battery was dead. Not a quality service that I have been accustomed to by AAA for the las 47 years! read more

He was very professional and courteous, and suggested he attempt to jump-start first to avoid the hassle of towing the car if possible. That's all it was. It was a very cold evening and he allowed my sister and I to sit in his cab while he dealt with our vehicle. Mohica towing is the best. I had the unfortunate experience of having my battery go dead twice within an hour. The first time mohica arrived with in 15 minutes gave me a jump and was out in just a few minutes. I did not take their advise to drive my car for 30 minutes before turning it off so my battery was dead 20 minutes later when I tried to restart it after going to the store. This time they were there in 5 minutes to get me on my way. I have used them before today and their drivers are very nice and professional. The ABSOLUTE worst thing I can say about Mohica Towing is that they have an affiliation with AAA. If only AAA was 1/1000 was as good as Mohica! AAA sent Mohica out a few times for minor issues. They have always been prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. I would use them anytime with or without the AAA link. I find them trustworthy and fair. Those are not two terms often applied to towing services. I am happy to see that other's view of Mohica are similar to mine. It is also nice to see that Yelp is used to provide positive comments about worthy members of the community. Now if, I could just find a replacement for AAA. read more

Unfortunately, I've had more than my share of two truck experiences this month, first with an auto accident where my insurance company arranged the tows. One was great, one was horrible (3.5 hour wait). A couple days ago I got a flat tire and called AAA, hope for a great experience rather than a bad experience. AAA dispatched Mohica Towing, saying it would be 20-30 minutes. In fact, the driver, Harley (driver #59), called after about 10 minutes saying he'd be there in 5 minutes. He was super friendly and competent. He quickly got to work removing the spare from the rear of my older (borrowed) SUV. I tried to help, but he said "keep your hands clean. I got this." Within minutes he had the spare off, the flat tire off, the spare on, and added air to all my tires. Harleywas done in about 15 minutes. That meant from the time I called AAA to the time my care was drive-able was just about 30 minutes, maybe less. Great friendly service. If I have to call AAA again, I hope they dispatch Mohica Towing to me again, and Harley specifically! read more

We had a battery replaced in our van over a week ago...Mohica Towing through AAA did the replacement. The battery is located under the drivers seat and it's a chore getting to it. The guy replacing the battery was less than helpful but he finally got the job...almost done. He didn't replace the two-piece cover over the battery or reattach the carpet over that. So we made a call today to get that done... Mohica sent Jared, and he had it done in two minutes. And more than that he was super nice, friendly and knowledgeable.
