First time here but likely not last. Tiny place with outside seating and good quality food. We ordered the lumpia which were quite large. We also ordered the Kalua pork and the Katsu chicken. Everything tasted like were used to in Hawaii. Almost weird to find a Hawaiian restaurant in this quaint little city in central Ohio. Our waitress Ashley did a great job. How did I not know this was here in Delaware?! Same as the food in Dublin, just slightly different menu. I ordered the Katsu chicken starter and Teriyaki beef plate with rice and macaroni salad. Same quality as I'm used to, but I really like the tiki bar atmosphere with Hawaiian music playing. They have a nice front outside patio area that's perfect for a nice day out. The bartender was very attentive. I loved the Katsu Chicken appetizer with 3 dipping sauces! Sorry for the random sentences. I'm typing while eating lol. Anyway, great surprise off of Sandusky. Been here twice with my family and both times had a pleasant experience. Service was great, especially the second trip after they had been open for a bit and their waitress/bartender was very sweet and quick with our orders. Inside is small but cozy with really cute decor. The island theme is great and goes perfect with all their fun Hawaiian beverages. Unfortunately the drink I ordered tasted awful. It was the second time trying it and it seems this restaurant cannot master the recipe so steer clear of the privateer. The rest of our party ordered a variety of items which we enjoyed. The seafood sampler is delish and I love their grilled chicken with katzu sauce. Their macaroni salad was okay, definitely had to add sauce to it as well but it was all great mixed together. Absolutely amazing food! We loved everything about our visit to Ohana. We started with the loaded fries and drinks and I knew we were hooked from there. The place is decorated so cutely, the only downfall is that it is on the smaller side so it may take awhile to be seated but we sat at the bar with no issues. Let's start positive, some of the food tasted good. Portions were small but it tasted decent. The loko moko was presented nicely and had a good flavor. The "Hawaiian" macaroni salad didn't taste anything like it should but wasn't bad tasting. The whole place gave off a "white guy spends two weeks a year staying in a resort in Hawaii and tried to bring it to Delaware vibe. Stop describing things as Hawaiian that just aren't. The 21 dollar "Hawaiian" combo appetizer was supposed to be "Hawaiian" battered mushrooms but were breaded mushrooms out of a Sysco bag and tasted awful. The "Hawaiian" French fries were just Sysco battered fries with no seasoning. They advertised it came with six wings, it came with six boneless nuggets. The menu doesn't mention they're boneless at all. The service was fantastic though, shame they can't afford a staff and have the General Manager doing everything but cooking. I don't see this place surviving. Anyone know who owns this place? Doesn't feel like they are experienced in the restaurant industry. read more

Was passing through downtown Delaware on our trip back to Michigan, and the cute tiki bar patio at Ohana caught our eye. As we passed, the smell of warm coconut filled the car and we had to stop in for lunch! We were sat promptly and able to look over the menu with ease, as it was very small and to-the-point. We ordered the coconut shrimp and a virgin Strawberry Banana Daquiri to start within a couple of minutes of being seated. The coconut shrimp was lighter than I'm used to. Not a ton of flavor, but had a nice golden crust. The daquiri was ice cold and refreshing. For entrees, we ordered the Kalua Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries and macaroni salad, as well as the Teriyaki Beef Sandwich. They were good, but nothing special. Lots of fatty pieces in the teriyaki beef and the Kalua pork was just... pulled pork. Buns were dry and flavorless. The macaroni salad was also basic with a lot of mayo, wish it was a bit more chilled, but the fries were good. Overall I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but service was friendly and ambience was fun. read more

Excited for Ohana Island Grill to be in Delaware. They have indoor, outoor, and bar seating available. It is a small restaurant but never had any trouble getting a seat. Their food is delicious but the portions are on the smaller side. I love that they offer spam musabi. It is a bit expensive for the portion size. They do offer the classic macaroni and rice sides with the platters. The macaroni is amazing! I have been a couple times and enjoy the food. It is enjoyable! read more

This is a very cute place with a ton of food and drink options. My issue was the staff and management. The night we were there everyone seemed to be fighting, no one got along, managers didn't seem supportive just aggressive with staff. Staff seemed miserable as well. Love this new local spot!! It is small inside, I think there was like 6 tables but the bar has plenty of seats. Once it warms up they will be the go to patio to hangout on. The decor inside is super cute. We were greeted right away, took a seat at the bar. Normally I don't like eating at the bar but i enjoyed it. This is a MUST try. The space inside is a little small, but where it may lack in seating it makes up for in charm, character and incredible food. The service was really great and everyone was so friendly through the whole experience. We started with some great craft cocktails and variety of apps. I will be thinking about the loaded fries for a very long time. No matter what you try, you won't be disappointed but I must recommend the teriyaki beef or the Katzu chicken. OHANA ISLAND GRILL & BAR Both Deb and I have been wanting to try this place in Downtown Delaware for a long time now. We pulled the trigger and decided tonight was the night. First impressions were awesome. We got a picnic table with umbrella outside adorned with Hawaiian Leis, it has a super cool island vibe outside. The interior was even cooler and even more laid-back and fun. Deb prefers vegetarian options, on this menu there were none with the exception of tofu. There was grilled Salmon to be fair. Deb doesn't eat tofu, but more disappointing was that the chicken on the menu was fried, I was not expecting this and was disappointed. The breading wasn't overwhelming. It just didn't have any taste, other than grease. I had ordered the chicken which was described as being cut in strips and served with rice and a side of macaroni salad with a sweet and sour sauce. What I imagined or assumed was it would be grilled chicken, charred and covered in the sauce on a bed of rice , what I got was the greasy fried chicken pounded out so flat, there was very little chicken at all, and what there was, was a little fatty and rubbery. The sides were small, and the amount of sauce served on the side was not enough to service your meal, I had to ask for more, more than once. Prices weren't bad but everything being fried and greasy, we won't likely return unless we come for the outstanding island tiki drinks which Deb reports as delicious. To be fair, I checked with three young ladies at the table next to us and asked what they thought about the fried chicken and if they thought it was greasy, the response was not as expected so I need to temper my review with try it and see what you think, but my wish for this establishment is that they provide more fresh veggies and a grilled option for the chicken and pork for those who would prefer that to fried. Total bill was $45 w/o tip. Deb had fried coconut shrimp, her drink was $11.00 and I'm feeling a little queasy with all the grease now. read more

Stopped for lunch on Saturday and wanted to watch college football games. They have two TVs but no local channels or cable/satellite channels, just the free streaming Samsung channels no one watches. We would have liked to try the food but left because we couldn't watch football. It's a small place and I considered buying rabbit ears from Amazon and sending to the address for an investment of about $30 which would have been about half what we ordered. Honest review. After reading on social media about how great this place was I wanted to try it! First of all the place looks great! Nice atmosphere, get there early because there isn't a ton of seating and I think it's gonna be busy for a while. That being said, this was the best thing about our visit. We sat at the bar because there was only one table open and it looked like it sat 5 people, there were only 2 of us so they offered us a seat at the bar which I was fine with. Wouldn't want someone else to come in with a larger party and not have a place to sit. Gentleman sat us done and got us menus. Then we waited...and waited. 3-4 people behind the bar but some were just drying glasses and fiddling with the tv. I looked at my wife and said that this was not a good sign. Finally one of the bartenders comes over to take our order after I keep making eye contact with everyone behind the bar because no one was paying attention to take an order. So long story short, service was not very attentive to get to us. Secondly let's talk about the food. Being a Hawaiian place I ordered the Loco Moco. Got it with rice and macaroni salad. Served said food would take about 15 minutes but only took 10. Gravy was really good, hamburger patty was like it was premade frozen and the egg was cooked hard, not runny like I prefer but maybe that's a Hawaiian thing? Honestly though I think the amount of food they give you for what they charge is disproportionate. $15 for it and it was a small portion. It's basically rice, hamburger patty, egg and gravy with some macaroni salad. Tasted like it also was premade but not super sure. Also got the Coconut shrimp. This was the best food item we got. Cooked well and crispy and consistent. Worth the $9 for 8 pieces all day long. Just being honest with our visit. Wish it had been a better visit. read more

I've been here a dozen or so times over the last 2 years and have unfortunately watched the service and food slip downhill. During our visit yesterday we sat at the bar and waited over an hour for our appetizers. There was one guy on service who was pleasant but balancing a half-full restaurant on his own and a girl who was just cleaning glasses and didn't seem to be helping at all. Once the food came out I recognized our meat lovers portion was half the size it usually is the crab rangoons were cold and soft. My fish was completely inedible and resembled cold jerky that was completely stripped of any drop of moisture. My partner ordered wings, which he said were hot and tasty, so that was a highlight, but my plate was a wash with the Mac salad missing onion, vinegar, or sugar (just Mac and mayo). We ended up leaving early because our eyes were burning from the oil smoke and we went home smelling like fry oil and Waffle House. As someone who grew up in Hawaii, this was my cravings fix, but we may hold off on our next visit until the service is back to normal and the regular cook comes back. read more

The Mac salad needed more carrots to give it a more authentic feel. I was disappointed that they only had one dish with SPAM. The wasabi roll was good but the wrap was too thick and it was overly filled with rice. Our server was good. The decor reminded you of a tiki hut so it gave you some island feel. I can say that every single person working at different times asked if we needed anything and we're so attentive and helpful with ordering and explaining flavor profiles and favorites. Since it was restaurant week in Columbus this week they had a really cool chefs special with a top shelf tropical cocktail to start, each person got their own appetizer and then there were multiple choice for mains with sides of rice and macaroni salad. We got the chicken lumpia and crab rangoon both were so well prepared and extremely flavorful without any greasiness, cooked to perfection! The drinks were loaded! No holding back from the bartender, we got a Mai Tai and a Painkiller. These drinks were so well crafted, well blended with tropical juices and the flavors were outstanding. Big ups to the bartender for both drinks. The chicken Katsu was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy with such a fantastic crunchy breading on the outside. Both servings were cooked so well, correct temperature on the fryer oil because there wasn't a drop of grease or oil to be found and the flavor was extremely pleasing. The macaroni salad was a traditional Hawaiian style, very well seasoned and no sweetness, served cool and creamy, home run with this side. Rice on the side well cooked rice. I took my wife out because she wanted to try Ohana, and we were treated like royalty by their entire staff. The manager stopped by multiple times along with the servers and we didn't even know she was the manager because she was all over the place assisting all tables, behind the bar, outside seating was full and inside was full and she waltz like a pro with all of her dancing servers, it was like they had choreographed the entire evening for every table and every customer. We ordered and the food arrived quick and hot and with everyone inside happy. It truly was Ohana inside, relaxed, smiles, incredible service and meal 5 out of 5 Stars at a Super Nova level. Delaware has a beautiful gem down town, please keep this gem shiny and take care of this local place with your patronage. Great service, fun little spot. Came for restaurant week. Teriyaki beef was tasty, musubi (spam and chicken katsu) both good and at a very fair price. Lumpia were tasty, crab Rangoon also. Drinks were tasty. Fried tofu was light and tasty. Only ding I have is the bun for the teriyaki beef was a very basic hamburger bun. Think Kroger 12 pack....its pretty authentic Hawaiian actually, but it was the only thing on my plate I was left unimpressed with. A kings Hawaiian bun might have been a better choice. The way they handled this experience of fraudulent charges on my card is a huge disappointment and red flag. ***!UPDATE: After waiting patiently for the manager Melissa Rizer to get back to me and NOT ever doing so as she stated she would to resolve the FRAUDULENT charges on my card & I tried calling her back repeatedly, tonight I finally reached her again. Melissa Rizer informed me she spoke to the owner STEVEN & he said that since the time had passed (?) let me dispute the charges with my card company and he would deal with it then. Melissa then said that they did not believe that it was an intentional act. REALLY? I said you DON'T believe that someone intentionally changed the amount of my charge of almost $20. ($17.40 to be exact). I then ended the call after letting Melissa know I would be posting this on every review platform I can find. NOT ONCE did Melissa or Steven apologize not try to make right the WRONG of their staff who in turn had committed fraud by changing the amount charged to my card from $89.60 to the $107.00 charged to my card. Dropped in new to Ohana Island Grill & Bar over the 2024 New Year's Eve weekend for cocktails before finishing the drive from Rickenbacker Airport. The time was 30 minutes before closing. OIG&B is a cute place. Polynesian - Hawaiin theme, the place is small so my thought is food will be by timing. I had a Blue concoction of rum, vodka, curacao and coconut juice. It was certainly strong but the sweet flavors were delicious. Other drinks followed, the barkeeper kept the doors open until 10:30pm. Very nice. The bar with stools seats about 12 peeps. All in all, I want to revisit OIG&B again but the 2nd time will be for exotic style foodies. Give Ohana Island Grill & Bar a whirl, soon. read more

My son and daughter in law had never been to a tiki bar and really enjoyed it. We went around 5 on a Saturday and I'm glad because it filled up really quickly. The drinks were well crafted and the glassware was fun. We had a selection of apps to try. The kalua pork fries were so good that we ordered it again! The wings were the best that we've ever had. They were huge and really crispy on the outside. My daughter in law loved the crab Rangoon and the edamame was a hit as well. The lumpia was crispy and delicious and the Katsu chicken was as well. Kids would love it, too! We left stuffed and more than satisfied! We'll definitely return when it gets warmer so we can sit outside. read more

Great, friendly service. Drinks are very good. Pretty small and tight inside. Crab Rangoon was very good, despite one was hollow . Swai and coconut shrimp are good. Order the sweet sauce though for the shrimp. Short ribs were tender but very salty. I would have liked the sauce to be a little sweet. Macaroni salad bland and rice even more. This place worth a try or two. I think a nice touch to the atmosphere would be less white lights and more multi colored bulbs. read more
